Gaijin32 Kitty Boi Kevin 9. Hang him from the mast like a Jolly Roger.
10. Soak him in oil 'til he sprouts flippers.
11. Keelhaul him 'til he's sober. (I realize this one is similar to 'Put him in the longboat...' I couldn't say if it's a new stanza, or if it's just an alteration....)
Anyway...I found these on The Sea Dogs' CD, so that's where credit is due. biggrin Hehe! Those are good, Kevin! Now, with the hanging from the mast bit, is that by the wrists or ankles? pirate *eyes Gaijin warily* It makes me nervous that you're taking notes, love. ;D

I posted in the Memorable Events thread about Northshield's first coronation, but.... that brief description really didn't do it justice. I don't know if this will, either, but.... here's a song I wrote to commemorate the event. It still needs work.... I'm not happy with the melody I came up with for it, but the lyrics are decent, I think.
When Northshield Gained its Crown by Alyna of Four Pines Hyll
Chorus: Although I come from South of there And Calontir's my home In my eye, there was a tear When Northshield gained its crown.
Verses: The people, they all stood and stared Breathless with anticipation Knowing the land that they all share Would soon become a nation.
The Crowns of lands both near and far From all the Knowne World o'er Did grace us with Their presence fair To welcome Northshield aboard.
Chorus
The Dragon and his sons were there White Wolf and Falcon Gold To watch young brother Griffon Take first steps on his own.
And then They stepped into the hall Clad in ermine, black and gold With warm smiles for one and all Through the populace they strode.
Chorus
Some words were spoken by King Felix I know not what they were For upon the Heirs, my eye was fixed A Kingdom was soon to birth.
The Crowns were placed upon Their heads The Knowne World held its breath To the people they were presented Cheers resounded from every breast.
Chorus
Bridei was graceful and serene A Queen of beauty untold And Siegfried, mighty warrior A handsome King, and bold.
The Griffon, guided by Their hands Soars high now, free and true Following the Compass Star Which glistens, bright and new.
Chorus
For I can say that I was there... When Northshield gained its Crown.

Well, I just had the thought that hanging a drunk by his ankles would be a great way to purge all the rum and other booze from his system. The vertigo alone would do it. Then you make the poor scurvy sea-dog swab the deck clean after. Arrr! pirate

Ankles sounds good. whee I never really thought about it that way, but you bring up a convincing argument. It would shock me sober, I'm sure...Although, in retrospect, that probably wouldn't be very difficult... neutral

I dunno, swinging by my ankles from the mast sounds pretty exciting to me... 3nodding ....Except, of course, for the whole 'drunkeness' part of it, that is.

If you've not heard any of the songs by my favorite bard, then you must. Master Efenwealt Wystle. His website seems to be down, much to my dismay, but I'll post the URL just in case it decides to start working again. http://www.angevintreasures.com/

Commissar Russ Does anyone know where I could find a song in German? Welllll.... Germany is part of the Kingdom of Drachenwald, so that might be a place to start... Or, I know there are some bards in Northshield with German personas who sing period german music.... One, at least. I can't think of her name right off hand, though.

Hello everyone. I'm just curious if anyone has ever heard of the moose song. I don't know if any of you know it but I know that in the Midrealm and in Ealdormere (or so I've heard) we sing it occasionally. I'd write the lyrics for everyone but I don't think I could, you see the song is about sleeping with a moose for those of you who've never heard it before.

I think it may have been banned by the bards of Calontir. *lol* That, and the flying hamsters song. wink
