Yes, I know Folkwear Patterns; I sewed the Gibson Girl Blouse. Lace insertion is a lot of work, but very pretty.

Camera is dead but I have a question about a fabric. I bought this fabric a few months ago, and I still have no idea what to do with it. Any suggestions?

If I were you, I'd use that only as an accent to some solid color on a jumper. Probably black, since the fabric has black in it already and would be easy to match to. The fabric itself is incredibly busy, so really wouldn't recommend using it for a garment all by its lonesome.

That's what I was thinking. Someone suggested I make the Vintage Poodle Pinafore Dress by Meta, but i think that would still me too busy.

Maybe if you were to use the shape of the dress, but in black with the striped colors as the ruffles and ties/bows? I always like Meta's pinafore-style jumpers, though. I'm biased.

Same here. I'm already making it in another fabric, so I'll see how that turns out first. Ill just leave it to sit another month...

How about you use that fabric for the skirt of a dress, and then black for the bodice, kinda like some VM styles do? It is pretty busy, but I think you could make something nice out of it. It might take years to figure out what, so don't be in a rush to use it.

Oh, Cryrin, your skirt that looks very much like VM is beautiful!
I haven't been sewing lolita lately. I recently went to the fabric store, and saw pretty fabric, but had not desire to buy it, since I have so much fabric to finish using.
