" Sah, the same chances as there are when Salamandastron was taken."
" Sir, we shall discuss your arrogance later."

"Ahhhh! Help! Attack!" Summer was hit hard on the back, knocking her down and Barrack came out.
" Summer! You! Eulalia!!! 'S death in the wind! Colonel, come get her!"
Then he charged.
At that time, the colonel got Summer and called the retreat.
" Colonel.... make sure.....B-Barrack gets out... alive.. I can make it from here." Then she started going and someone swept her up as she was falling.
" I'm coming Barrack! Eulaliaaaa!" He to charged, going to save Barrack. Even at his own life.

As Summer got away, Colonel and Barrack stayed, slicing at every creature who attacked them. Slicing one small horde person, Colonel Beachtree saw a rat about to kill Barrack. Then he remembered what Summer said, "Make sure he gets out alive. Then he jumped where the sword went, it slicing through him like a razor through paper. His final words were," Flee for your beloved!"
'Nooooooooo!" Then he ran, slicing at anything in his path, with hot tears in his eyes. He had many cuts on him and heard a rat say, " Lord Bloodfang could have had him if that hare wouldn't have jumped in front of him." Then he made a mental vow to himself, "I will slay you oneday, or die triing! Bloodfang!"

At the new camp, Barrack went to the medical tent. " How is she doing Benjamin?"
He smiled," She'll live. She has a rough mark on her. It'll take time for her to heal completely. Where's the colonel?"
Tears started building up in Barracks eyes. Then he started choking out his words." He's.......dead."
Then everyone froze. There was the occasional sob here and there.
" He took the blow that was ment for me."Then he sat down, he felt tired, exausted, sad, and aged. " How could I have ran off like that and not fight!"
" Because he wanted you to."Summer came in.
" But why?"
" I wanted you to." She said shakily.
" Then I should have stayed to fight!" He said in his frustration, then left. Summer broke down in tears and fell.
" But-" then she fainted.

After feeling so frustrated, Barrack gathered every hare into the main tent, where they had meetings. " Everyon, we have lost our faithful colonel, and before we start this meeting, let's take time to remember him.......Now, today, the Long Patrol was attacked, we didn't even set out a watch! So from now on, three watches at a single time. We also know that it was Summer who saved most of our lives. But no more keeping something far from you. " Alright everyone, we're ready this time! Gather your weapons and war gear! We'll hold them off to get the wounded out with some inthe back to cover their tracks! When their out of sight, they will go east to Mossflower at Redwall. We will go south then cut back north east with haste! Now, swords and shields to the front, pikes right behind the sticking out, slings behind them, then archers! Swords, lay javelins on the ground and cover them with dust! They cannot see them. At the last second, drop swords and stick them out! Then fight with all furiosety! Now go!"
" Hey Barrack!"
" Yeah Benjamin?"
" I'll stay to help the wounded here."
" Alright, we'll send Dafodil as lead doctor."
" Thank you."
" You just stay to the back."
" Sah! Colonel, Sah!"
Then Barrack smiled, so he was now the colonel." Let's give 'um Blood 'n Vineger!"
Then the dunes went up in a roar.
" Eulaliaaaaaa!"

"Shields up!"
"Ahhhh!"
"Oooof!"
"Return fire!"
Now 99 arrows went, hping they would fly true.

"They're going down on arrows sir! They must be planning to attack!"
" I know, but there is more of them than us. Are they out of site yet?"
" No sir! It will most likely take the rest of the following three hours before they are."
" That ain't good. Every one, prepare for mellee combat! But keep fireing!"
