you know you've been in guard too long when you start spinning your instrument (if you're in band as well)
I agree PERFECTLY! My flute has a few dings from that.
(*These have happened to me, so I'm completely serious.*)
You know you've been in guard too long when A nose bleed is common-place.
You know you've been in guard too long when The guard and the drumline learn each-others parts AND DOES THEM BETTER THAN THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO DO THEM!
... When talking about cramps and stuff infront of various guys is normal, even if having said-guy bring tampons and mydol from Wal-Mart for the guard to use. (Last year. Surprisingly, that said guy is still straight... Or at least we think so...)
... When The wind, even a breeze, makes you shudder on the warmest of days.
... When you and your guard friends have created a point system for
accidental band-hits with the flag, including the Band Director, but running for the guard instructor.
... Randomly sining your show music in the middle of class. (Two years ago, we did Phantom of the Opera, so the ENTIRE guard knows the songs ON KEY!)
... When talks of sex-changes are normal.
... When Mono is the guard-girl's anti-friend.
... When you hear to words, DUCK AND COVER! you instantly fall on the ground, waiting for a hit across the head with a metal pole.
... When your mother brings home a rifle that she found at a garage sale for you to practice with, even though your not on the rifle team.
... When 14-girl pile-ups are seen everyday, all sleeping.
... When the last compition is over, you cry from all the wonderful memories.
