You could have blue and tan painted walls, or blue and white, since those were the imperial colors, if I remember correctly.

As for the hieroglyphics, you could get different things that Egpytians enjoyed, like food and animals.

I love these ornaments they had above their doors, the two huge wings. If you can draw or know somebody who can, you could put some "painted statures" next to the door to guard it, gods or goddesses. A friend of mine had a huge Eye of horus painted above her bed, I found that was a great idea.

Oh, the wings... You mean Heru-Behdety, the winged solar-disk? I guess that's what they would have used...

I think it would be a wonderful symbol to have in your room... Here's a description of Heru-Behdety:

Two Bast statues at the door are very cool. Here's a picture of what my bast statues look like:

Do you have a window in your room? If you do, a gold painted trim around it makes it kinda look like an old passagway in the dim light when you draw the blinds. ^_^ Or you could have a shrine in your room. ^_^

UPDATE!!!

I've moved into my new room, got a new walldrobe and 2 chest of draws and the rooms has a papyrus like wall paper.

All I need now is to paint the hieroglyphs on the walls, get a new computer desk, new bed linen, new carpet and get my Eye Of Horus papyrus scroll in a frame.
