I saw a sketch-design in the Gothic Lolita Bible, submitted by someone else, and immediately fell in love with it. The dress took about... I think, 4 hours to make? It was very easy. The only thing that I don't like about this dress... I think I should have put boning in it to make the waist tighter and the dress look smoother. I'm happy about how this dress turned out. ^^ Front: Back:

NeverMoreBlue thats very pretty thought it looks a tad to large for yu around the shoulders Oops, someone noticed! ^^; The original dress had a collar there. However, I ran out of facing and could not make the collar stand up! So, I left it out. I hope I can fix it soon... ^^; Thank you very much for the comment, and I am glad you like the dress!

Back: http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o155/Zairal/photos/LolitaBackresize.jpg Thats gorgeous, how did you make the top portion the dress? Oh, thank you so much~! ... For the top of the dress, I used, I think, 6 pieces of fabric. Three per side, and two side panels to make the skirt wider. I then connected them all, and cut out the bottom to make it the right shape. The sleeves, I did by trial and error... they are a little too tight where the ribbon is on the forearm. The end pieces on the sleeve are just one piece of fabric, shaped like a V and sewn together. Make sure to sew them to the rest of the sleeve before stitching the sleeve together, though, or you'll end up re-making the entire thing! ... The lacing on the back was done with small pieces of u-shaped ribbon, because I thought eyelets wouldn't fit the look of the dress. I then just laced a ribbon through them and tied it. ... Thanks again for commenting on the dress~! I really do appreciate it.

I'm glad you posted photos of the full dress. The open back is unusual, and makes me think more of Gothic fashion, but it's really pretty.
Have you tried wearing a collared, long dress underneath?

PearlZenith I'm glad you posted photos of the full dress. The open back is unusual, and makes me think more of Gothic fashion, but it's really pretty. Have you tried wearing a collared, long dress underneath? Thank you so much~! Yes, but the only problem with that is the sleeves don't fit! The ribbon around them is very tight, and I can't fit another layer under them. So, I usually end up tying a wide ribbon around my neck, and maybe a sleeveless lacy dress underneath.

How cute~!
You did a great job on wrapping the rest of the headband with ribbon so it wasn't visible. It looks beautiful~

NMB, that was a great idea to wrap the band with ribbon. heart You should wear it, and scan in the photos.
Zairal, a lacey sleeveless dress would be pretty. I hadn't thought about the sleeves problem.
I was going to sew a heart apron today, but I slept late, because I think I'm getting sick, and decided to try to finish knitting my scarf instead.
