I'm a rubbish gamer, so I struggle with Lv 9's. However it is true that the CPUs are very predictable, and I had a friend who used to show off by taking on level 9s with Jigglypuff (and without using the down+B move). I think it would be cool in Brawl if you could 'train' a CPU character. Have an option to record yourself playing so an AI character would learn how you like to play and adapt to it. I've heard of lots of games where the enemy learn how you play so I can't see why Nintendo wouldn't be able to do it.

I play with MLG rules, no items and [usually] tournament areas. I never lose to level 9's and it's really sad. I mean, not to brag but I'm pretty good so I should beat them with my best character. But when I pick a character who I have zero skills with and never play with and still win, that's bad. That needs to be fixed in Brawl.

Well when i play i think of it as 2 kinds of level nine computers. Like sometimes its the good computers and they are a bit of a challenge or they are bad computers and walk into every trap.

computers are programed to do certain things when you do certain things, at a regular interval, i find it varies less at higher levels, level 1's somethings jump around cluelessly, but level 9's just bolt to weapons/charge and attack

Yes... CPU of all levels have recovery items at their highest priority. If you see them start running away from you, it's bacause a maximum tomato just appeared off-screen... FOLLOW THEM XD

~BabyJax~ computers are programed to do certain things when you do certain things, at a regular interval, i find it varies less at higher levels, level 1's somethings jump around cluelessly, but level 9's just bolt to weapons/charge and attack I noticed that too. Each level does something different. So that's why I tend to put two level 9's and one 8 That way I have to different minds coming at me. Also I put the handicaps up on the 8 so they are harder and do the same with the 9's. It's a lot harder than three 9's are.

hey i totally agree that the lv 9 cpu is a retard. the way my bro and i train is to fight a handicap lv 9 cpu that's lv 9. he and i are handicap lv 1s and we try and beat up any character. we like to fight bowser and we call it "slay the dragon" hehe we find the only challanges are ourselves. we've played in tournaments and we've won. of course i always go thinking im gonna loose. it turns out i'm better than i thought! 3nodding

ArcVyse To keep this short: Don't play level 9's, a human (No matter how stupid) is always going to be better to play against. CPU's are predictable, making you predictable. Human's react in ways only humans can, and thus are more realistic opponents. In the end CPU's will make you worse and not better. If you must practice with CPU's play against level 1's as they have better DI (Directional Influence) than Level 9's. I'll try......... The level ones also seem ridiculously easy, but that's just me. Also, on a vaguely related note, the first two (maybe three, I haven't gone back over it lately) All-Star Event Matches seem very easy.

cpu's are computers. the computer doesn't know any better, while the players on the other hand kinda notice when there is a green blinking light somewhere blaugh and remember, the cpu's are hard because they can actually use attacks to effect, and not randomly mash buttons in hope of hitting someone stare like most players... xd

That needs to be fixed in Brawl. I couldn't agree more. Every Lv. 9 CPU I faced had their butts handed to them, except on certain occasions. Anyway, some of the harder ones to fight are Dr. Mario, Ganondorf, and the Ice Climbers. Better yet, if you want something like St. 51 in Event Mode, try setting up Bowser, Ganondorf and Mewtwo at level 5, all against you on one team, and select Final Destination for the arena, and I think the items are at normal. Good practice if you still haven't beat that!
