i haven't been able to brak my cymbals yet, but after 5 years of being encouraged to play as loud as possible i've gone deaf in one ear!! it's kinda funny.....but bad at the same time cause now i can't always hear the director when he talks. lol

Wahconah_Warrior Believe it or not...I managed to break the triangle....I was holding it while spinning it and it broke off the string (that's like 1000 yrs. old) and had to use my stainless steal necklace to hold it. Is that insane or what? huh? did you break the string, or the triangle? lol, I've cracked my cymbals, and inverted the other pair a few times, but they're older than I am.

laughingpiggy ahhaha that reminds me of the time.. our school's orchestra was playing at disney hall last year, and the cymbal player inverted the cymbals in the middle of a piece! he had to go backstage and grab extra cymbals xp my fellow percussionists would, on stage, just lay the cymbal against a stair, or a marimba, and just uninvert it. Then we'd prolly die afterwards. We invert cymbals at pretty much eveery football game.

Almost everything in our pit has been broken at one time or another. We had a set of vibes that sound so bad that we don't play the anymore. All our cymbals were so cracked that we gad to get new ones. I'm not sure if we even have a triangle, if we do then the drummers (no offense, but all of ours are druggies) will have broken it by now.

Omg where do I begin?!
Back in pit the Triangle brooke so I hade to use my hair bow.
Our old drum instructor broke a COWBELL (he would hit hit while saying Taco Taco Taco...he was crazy)
Then we got a whole new drumline(I mean the drums) and our Tenor player broke 4 out of 5 drum heads!!!! In less than one season!!!(I say less because we weren't allowed to touch the new drums for about a month into the season sweatdrop )
Then this year one of the suspended cymbals fell off the Pit Mobile and was run over...shattering in the process!!!
Then the Mikey almost broke the my drum head by using my drum as a launch for his stix to hit the ceiling!!! (there's a HUGE dent in my drum head now)

Our cymbolist inverted his cymbols at the very last hit of our show once, we watched it on the tape and went "ehhh??" lol. Our vibraphone leg broke before a show and we tried everything except gum and glue to keep it up xd
