When I was working as a courier, I had to pick up a crate load of the little guys, they were all on there way up to a pet shop in BC and I kept them with me for as long I could and was talking to them the whole time. They were so cute...

They are popular pets. Furry, cute.. they are cute when they dig and throw it everywhere. The only way I don't like a Chinchilla is made into a coat! scream

sutoyou Chinchilla's get large and live a long time...what a committment! Well, any pet is a committment. I once had a ten cent goldfish that lived for two years. Tons of people consider frogs and turtles to be "throwaway" pets, something you give to children and take half-assed care of. But both are extremely fragile and need very specific environments to be happy. And there are tree frogs that have been known to live twenty years in captivity. That's the same sort of committment as a cat or a dog.
