i think ties, with a suit are incredibly sexy. dress shirts and ties are okay too.
if they're worn with just a regular old t-shirt, then it's just plain ugly to me.
it's too 'billie-joe' for me, personally.

I love ties. I often wear a short sleeved button up shirt (Black), with a black or red necktie.
Kids at my school decided to copy me on that, so now I purposly mess mine up, to keep my self unique.
For example, my red tie is shorter than it should be, I have the back end longer than the front, its a little bit torn, and the top part of it is wrinkled and messy.

An intersting idea I've seen a few girls pull off is to sew a bunch of ties together into a skirt and to wear them that way.
Personally I don't wear ties. It just isn't my thing.

Ties are cool but the only time I've actually worn one NOT with a suit was when I made these shoe laces with GIR from invader zim into a tie because they didn't fit my shoes. I did that about eh...3 weeks ago. First and last time. xp

They're okay so long as you have some kind of overshirt.

I would drag my sister to buy ties with me if she lived near me. Alas, she's not really my sister. We love them, she bought me a bow tie and buisness tie for my 2 week un-birthday celebration.

anime_freak777 Ties remind me of Avril Lavigne,so I prefer not wear them since I get accused of trying to ber or "be hardcore/punk" when I have one on. Avril? Damn, last time I wore a tie and an undershirt, people accused me of looking like Billy Joel Armstrong off Green Day. Which is.....funny.....because I'm a chick. But hey, I appreciate the androgynous look. ^.^
