I would definitely spend money on a paint colour that you like, and start with painting your room. The next step, is to make curtains in a fabric that either matches, or co-ordinates.
If you like blue a lot, I would make that the primary colour of your room, and then use white or cream as an accent.
Pillowcases are pretty simple to make, and don't take much fabric, so you can choose whatever you like. My mom once made me one out of eyelet, and threaded ribbons through it. Then, she also made me little pillows out of blue and pink fabrics, with eyelet edging, to make my bed pretty. You can add a 'skirt' to your bed, too.
Check secondhand stores for nice sheets, or bedskirts, since they will be less expensive than new ones. Also, look through pattern on home decorating, to get ideas. These two websites are a good place to start: www.simplicity.com www.mccalls.com
I'm working on my own room. My old room used to have a star theme, which I still love, but my new room is mostly a pale golden yellow, with a light blue ceiling. My curtains are yellow and blue with butterflies on them, so I'm making some pilowcases and pillows with butterfly motifs. I think lace is pretty, but prefer texture and colour to decorate with, so I'm using all kinds of fabrics, from brocades, to knitting, and beadwork.
Oh, one other thing to consider is the style of lolita you like best. I'm assuming you like sweet lolita, but whichever style you like, take inspiration from the clothing, when making things for your room, or adapting your existing furniture.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been having a bunch of different Ideas, but nothing ever really sounded like it belonged in reality.... I've really liked the whole Star and Moon theme my room is now, but I don't like it as a complete theme... I think I should do blue and pink, maybe paint two walls pink, and two blue, or one pink and three blue. I also have a blue dreamnet, so that'll go well in my room. Does anyone know some cheaper fabric stores on the western side of colorado?

I like the idea of three blue walls and one pink. I don't know of any fabric stores in Colorado, but you can try a google search, for fabric stores in your zipcode. It usually helps you get an idea of where to start.
When you do find a good place to shop, let me know. I'd like to keep a database of good places to buy fabric. Because I have moral issues with Wallmart, I wont include them on the list, though I do know that they have some cheap fabrics. When they have better working and buying conditions, I'll reconsider, but I'm afraid that I'll be waiting a very long time.
If there's a Joanns or Hancock near you, sign up to recieve their newsletter. It usually has cupons, and notices of sales, so you can afford to buy nice fabrics, if you wait. I've gotten some incredibly good deals. Also, search through the discount bins and sections of stores, because sometimes you'll find the perfect thing, and for a perfect price. It takes a lot of looking to find what you want, but it's worth the time, I believe.

Let;s see.. out of all the fabric stores I've been to, I would have to say that Hi-Fashion fabrics is a good place to get high quality fabric if you want to pay an arm and a leg. I'll go there when I want some new fabric to decorate my room with, because I refuse to use cheapo walmart fabrics. I found this place on Google called Sew n' Sew Quilting, and they sell nice fabrics.

I've been meaning to post this link for a bit: http://community.livejournal.com/egl/9198884.html#cutid1
Annie, that is gorgeous. I love the colours, and textures, and would certainly enjoy seeing that set in a real bedroom. It's both sophisticated, and feminine, which are two important elements of lolita fashion. It might not work so well for sweet lolitas, but I think it would be especially wonderful for classic and gothic lolitas.

I think I've figured out something for my room, which will be sweet Lolita~!
Pink and White Gingham, Pink, and Strawberries. (Plus Sanrio~) I'll run it by my mom, and she'll probably think it's cute. I'm going to Paint one wall Pink, and then the rest a creme color. I think it will be so cute~ heart
Oh, and does anyone know how I should do my curtains, beadspread, and other accessories?

I guess my room is border-line Lolita. I have tons of Jrock pictures I printed off the net on my walls, tons of stuffed animals I've had since I was 5 (Some from when I was born XD), floral/pastel bedding -- Oh, and a "tea for one set" I got for my 17th birthday heart .
I've never liked dolls up until now, and I'm 18 XD.... I only have one porcelain doll that my mom got me for Christmas when I was like 9.
I'd post some pics if I had a camera.... But I plan on moving out when I can (which may be fairly soon, I don't know yet)... So I'm not too attached to the current look of my room right now. xp

Cross06, that sounds lovely. I don't have any suggestions right now. I'll try to think about it, though.
Witchy Luna, why don't you try talking to your parents, and telling them that you would like to make your room prettier, but don't want to mess with their storage, and see if they have any suggestions for you.
Grumble Cakes, you should show us pictures.
I need to take pictures of my room. I have teacups sitting on my dresser, filled with buttons and other small things, because I like to see what I have, for when I'm working on projects. I also sewed two prett pillows a week ago, and have been meaning to post the photos, as well as instructions for them. They're really simple to make, but look pretty nice, and you can easily customize them to what you want.

I finally got around to taking a picture of my room. Or, a corner of it, at least. I'll take more when my room is cleaner. My bed just stays clear of the clutter, usually, because I want to be able to sleep on it without having to clear things off of it. I have a really tiny room. I wish the pillows on my bed were clearer in this photo, since I'm rather proud of them, though they were easy to sew. I guess I need more photos of them, too.
