A recent one of mine. I tend to favour free verse. And yus, it's personal experience.

They Didn't Mean To Break Your Heart

Child, do not cry;
Pick up your fairytales and your angels
And give yourself these wings.
Your eyes are made for laughter-
Not weeping day by day.

Child, close your eyes;
Forget all of the bitterness
That scars these wretched walls.
Your heart is made for rainbows and sunshine-
Not for hurting when loved ones fight.

Those shadows screaming at themselves
Don't mean a thing to you.

Your mommy's fine;
A bad farmer gave her apple juice
And made her someone else
Whose breath smelled strange
Whose hands hurt daddy
But now she's warm, asleep.

Daddy'll be home;
He went to work just for a while
When he made mommy cry
Because the phone rang
Because he smelt of perfume
But when he's back, he'll bring you toys.

Tomorrow,
The sun will peek through your curtains
And dry all your worries.

Sweet child,
Paint a smile on your little face
Put on your skirts and ribbons;
They didn't mean to break your heart.

I need to make a poem.

We made 6-word stories in English today. :3 Some of them were really funny, like:

"The bus is locked? Oh crap."

"Six words, like Yoda we feel."

"French rifles: never fired, dropped once."

"Any bullets left?" "Nope." "God dammit."

A quick limerick:

There once was a Gaian named Illy,
Who all in all was rather quite silly.
OOC's did he take
5 times (not a fake)!
And you can't post in his little thread-illy.
