Lol, very common move used by Mario and Dr Mario players. Some more experienced Fox/Falco users will be a lot harder to fool with that though, and will B-up JUST enough so that they can hang onto the ledge and so the carpet would be a bit harder to pull off.
For everyone who doesn't know, this is referred to as sweet spotting. It's just grabbing the ledge enough so your opponent can't hurt you (they can still jump out and grab the ledge though).
