In the hopes that being of assistance might help him make friends and forge eventual connections outside of the herd for the benefit of the hive, the Prince of Honey Tryst 'In The Golden Afternoon' has happily lent his strength and attention to some of the matters of the Faire. It had started with simply offering to help some of the more delicate mares he'd encountered as they attempted to corral produce, then had progressed to helping push and haul heavier wares, and even stepping in and allowing himself to be hooked up to one of the wagons so he could haul it to the correct locations. Apparently the previous volunteer had been injured, and Tryst had felt that moving it sooner was better than waiting until later.

Being used as something of a moving stage for some of the raccoon dancers from the performance troupe raises some regrets, but they're mostly of a fond exasperation in nature. Resolving himself to be the best living stage he can, Tryst had let them drape him with fall colored sashes and swags, decorate him with flowers and leaves, and then obediently trotted over so they could perform for the gathering crowd. For her part, the Queen of the Faire seemed to take their presence in good humor, nodding for him to step into the middle of their little clearing.

"I don't really mean to be a contender," Trust offered with a bashful duck of his head and a self-deprecating grin. "I was just going where I was directed?"

The bobbing dislodges some of his flowers and prompts him to freeze nervously, glowing eyes wide with worry as he looked at the laughing Cerynei mare. "Your Majesty, if you'll excuse me? I promise I was just trying to help your musicians entertain the crowd."

Narwa Carnimírië, often simply called Nim by her family and those she was close to, has been enjoying her time immersed in the autumnal cheer of the Faire. For the time being the proud Lady was far from the herd that was her birth family -the Flock- and most of her kin that dwelled therein, and all the more free for the experience. Being one of over one hundred spirit gifted children had meant no shortage of siblings to play with growing up, but also meant feeling a little overlooked by her parents and most of her kin. Thankfully her Aunt had taken an interest in her, Greyes, and a few of their other siblings, raising all of them as her own.

Teleri Lindai had taken her crafted hair ornaments and beads and gone trading, often bringing some of her adopted children with her so they could experience life outside what they were familiar with. There were so many herds and groups to interact with outside of what they were familiar with; strangers of all sizes, shapes and colors, Soquili and spirit-touched animals alike. Through travel they were able to see different market and trade hubs, different goods and services and arts exchanged.

Without it, Nim was willing to bet that Greyes performance style would have been very different. She had benefited from the adventures, growing in her craft, and Nim couldn't wait to see her beautiful sister show it off. Still, there was a time for everything, and while she waited there was no reason not to enjoy the Faire as it stood. The booths with various different crafts had been interesting and exciting, and Nim had even found a few things she couldn't resist, purchasing them and tucking them away in the pouch she wore for such instances.

But as time grew closer, she felt her nerves rising. 'Little Sister, where are you?'

Giving a nervous chirp, Nim nudged the stallion standing within wing's reach of her, giving him a demanding look. "Kasomba, where do you think your mate has wandered off to?"

When all is said and done, Greyes missing most of her time slot is more of an amusement that a tragedy, one she carries off with grace. Stepping back to watch the flurry of white and grey feathers approach, Nim gives a delighted laugh at witnessing her sister collide with the dark stallion she's chosen as her mate.

"You still know how to make an entrance, no one can say otherwise."

Keeping a mindful eye on the passage of time as they meandered through the Faire, Kasomba Anšar did his best to keep his head bowed enough that his forelock shaded his lavender pale eyes. As a Shadow Suti, even the afternoon autumn sunlight was somewhat strong, so he couldn't help the sigh of relief he gave when Nim directed them into a patch of shade to regroup. They'd already done a bit of buying and trading, taken in some sights, and caught a glimpse here and there of Greyes as she worked her way through the celebratory crowd.

"Nearly time, let's go get a good spot to watch, hmm?" Kasomba rumbled to his sister in law, keeping staunchly at her side as they made their way over to the pageant grounds and the wild antics of the performers therein.

Settled into the shade of a tall tree and right at the edge of the little clearing with only the occasional raccoon or mouse darting in front of him, Kasomba drew a deep breath and let it out in a relaxed sigh. Casting a pale eye over the gathered crowd, he was somewhat surprised to see a variety of familiar faces. There were many artists he had names for and even a fair few he considered friends in truth, as well as some that were known enough to hi he guessed that they must be pretty consistent patrons at the Faire.

Such matters were easily put out of his mind as the next few performers went up, for at any moment he expected to see Greyes arriving on scene in a flurry of feathery wings. In the end she did just that, but late enough in her time slot that her performance was cut down into a very short, somewhat comedy portion. While some might have been disheartened by whatever had occurred, the way she rocketed out of the limelight and into the comforting embrace of wings and bodies where her sister and mate stood seemed to indicate Greyes was not among them.

"You do always make it unforgettable." He teased with a gentle nuzzle at her ears. "Welcome back to me, my Lady of the Mists."

By some quirk of chance -or perhaps the helping hoof of fate- Revontulet has wound herself back through the crowd enough to catch Avert's cheerful teasing in the wake of her attempt at getting Tajvar on stage. It seems that her friends do know her all too well, and the jokes will continue ever so fondly at her expense.

"To give Tajvar credit where he is due? He was quite stout in his refusal." Revontulet murmured to Avert with an amused glance. "It was very convincing, so I won't try him again. Of course, you, dear Avert? I have not even begun to work on you yet. Tell me, don't you think you'd enjoy performing in the pageant? I still have a few openings, I believe. Want to show a talent or perhaps just smirk handsomely from the stage? I could think of a face or two in the crowd that would be delighted to bid for your attention?"

She flicks a glance to Mekaisto, still standing by Fajra. "In fact, to my great amusement, I can also think of a few friends that would be happy to help me, help you, up on that stage. I could tell them you're a little shy like Marianela was, they'd be happy to help you over it."

Avert's comments regarding Hiss and Howdan prompted a disappointed sound of negation paired with a thoughtful expression. "You know something? For reasons I cannot begin to fathom, both my brother and my mate have been suspiciously absent from these festivities. I am sure, of course, they haven't gone far... For fear of what antics I might get up to without supervision, if nothing else. But they are decidedly elsewhere while the pageantry is ongoing. A pity, they'd make dashing entries, don't you think?"

Since escaping the stage with his dignity largely intact and unbruised, the blue phoenix son called Khajrayna has managed to compel, cajole and (possibly) otherwise threaten the assistance of the nearby artisan raccoons. Though they chatter at him the whole time, while one or two of the others have been performing they lend clever hands to carefully disassemble his costume. Vegetables and fruits are sorted and set aside based on whether they can or should be used again, can be cooked, or will be broken apart for seeds before being left for locals that may be too shy or wild to attend the frivolities and festivities.

With their help most of the flowers and produce are been stripped away in short order, though the pair had strongly argued that he keep the herbs and plants woven into his crest as well as the crown still perched on his head. Admittedly, with the use of a polished gazing glass, he did find this part of the pageant finery to be quite pleasing. So with a reluctant nod he had set them free to their own devices once again, returning to his place in the crowd near Lady Cygnus to watch Marianela's time in the pageant spotlight.

All in all she does well, considering how loud the group is and the fact that she is center stage. Cygnus's gentle coaching seems to wake her up back out of the frozen state, which he is thankful for. On her exit Khaj makes a concerned noise when he sees her stumble, and then watches fondly as she recovers and practically flies to her mother's side for comfort. While the audience is distracted with the next few contestants and performers, he inches his way closer and gives her cheek and ears a reassuring nuzzle.

"You looked very festive, Starshine." He promised in a low murmur. "Not many others decided to do a night theme, I think you did very well."
