Rex was down but he wasn't out. As Salem went for the kick, Rex's arm shot up, grabbing hold of his ankle. With a grin, he would start to stand again, grabbing for Salem's other ankle too. If he was able to get hold, Rex would attempt to start a spinning and swinging Salem around.
If all went according to plan, then after several spins, Rex would drop himself to the mat while releasing Salem in an attempt to launch him over the ropes and out of the ring altogether.

Salem thought he'd softened the senior snake up enough for a critical hit, but the big man wasn't down and out, yet - astonishing the audience and Salem also by snatching his swinging leg and starting to spin "Showtime" like a top! His equilibrium was suffering from the dizzying display, only to feel gravity take over as he was chucked right over the top rope by his feet! Tumbling hard to the outside, Croft felt like he'd been in a car crash as the referee started to count!

Rex got back on his feet and started pacing in the ring.
"2..."
Rex moved closer to the ropes and looked down at Salem on the outside.
"3..."
Rex leaned against the ropes and peered down.
"4..."
"Stay down, boy!" Rex roared before stepping back and moving to the center of the ring, flexing for the crowd.

After a few seconds, Salem struggled to stir, having tumbled as though he'd fallen from a mountain. Fans around him urged him to recover, watching anxiously as "The Copperhead" tried to regain his senses, struggling to stand back up to his feet!

Rex readied himself, surveying the area where Salem had tumbled over. Watching as he started to get to his feet.

Rex looked on with a mixture of frenzy and anticipation

His head awhirl, Salem only barely heard the count in the back of his mind, still struggling for balance as his legs wobbled beneath him! Stumbling to one side, Croft caught himself on the nearby barricade as fans urged him to continue the fight!

Rex's grin grew. A countout victory was a victory. Mr. Cartwright would be pleased.

"That's right," Rex said. "Know your place, Salem."

Slaps of encouragement from his fans in the front row helped to revive Salem to the situation, a mere moment before he was due to be eliminated from the match! With a desperate burst of energy, Croft dived under the bottom rope and slid onto the canvas just before the count-out!

Rex hurried toward Salem as he dove under the rope. Rex would attempt to deliver a series of stomps to Salem to try and "persuade" him to stay down.

The audience booed as Rex took advantage of the downed Salem and started stomping him out while he was trying to get up, forcing him brutally into the mat with a series of heavy boots!

Rex ceased the stomps for a moment, straightening up and clicking back his hair to try and keep a composed look. With meticulous steps, he would stalk around Salem's downed form before trying to deliver a violent and forceful stomp to Salem's ankle, trying to eliminate the offensive leg that almost caught him earlier.

Once more, Salem felt as if he'd been hit by a car with the ruthless stomps being driven into his body, muscles aching everywhere as he struggled to breathe while Rex stalked his prey! With a loud thud, Salem felt the joint of his ankle attacked, causing him to clench and flop as the crowd booed Kobra!

Rex looked to the crowd and pointed out at them. "You want to idolize this man? Take a look at your hero now." Rex would turn his attention back to Salem and attempt to drop an elbow square onto Salem's knee.

Salem was starting to push himself up, struggling to get up to a vertical base as Rex stalked him and taunted the crowd. But just before he could get to his hands and knees, Rex dropped a heavy elbow down on his throbbing ankle, making him curl and clutch at the joint!

Rex taunted the crowd again, flexing for them. Demonstrating who the more dominant one of them was. Rex stood to the side, watching as Salem squirmed on the mat. After several moments, Rex would grab Salem by the head and attempt to "help" him get onto his knees. If he was able to, Rex would stand to his side, lean down and attempt to chop him across the chest.
