Declan was confused when she said they would apparate there, since he'd never heard that word before. "Uh... ap...apparate, ma'am?" She told him to get anything he needed in order to travel so he hurried over to grab his jacket off the hook. After all, it was still March and very brisk outside. Stuffing himself into his jacket, he glanced over at his grandfather who gave him a reassuring nod. "You'll be alright, lad. Just do whatever Mrs. Heulwen says, alright?" He gave his grandfather a confirming nod and moved over to take Nora's hand. His stomach was twisted in knots already and he hadn't even apparated yet. Declan was torn between excitement at getting to experience the magical world and the deep seated fear of the Devil he'd had beaten into him since he was a baby. Giving her hand a little squeeze, he swallowed hard and then let out a sigh. "I...I'm ready, ma'am."

Nora was set to have a busy sort of day, but it was one of the most important. Today, she'd be helping two of the lovely children she'd met that summer get to the train station in London. After carefully planning everything out, between the Moon Family, the McNamara Family, as well as her own family and the ever-important train schedule. Heading out early, Nora went by the Moon family apartment first, collecting both Kinzlie and Sebastian, and having a lovely morning chat while Seb frantically finished packing... apparently he'd been too excited and fell asleep the night prior. Sweet baby. Once they were gathered, Nora took both to Diagon Alley, taking them to the breakfast restaurant, then dropping Sebastian's luggage in Nani's office at the building next door. Promising to return soon, Nora apparated once more, this time to Ballynanty, Ireland.
Once at her apparation location, Nora quickly hurried to the home of Declan McNamara. He was a sweet young man, but his family... just set Nora on edge. What kind of people were so wrapped up in their religions that they would forsake their only son? And didn't the Bible have something to say on the sort! She drew a deep breath of the lovely Autumn air, straightening her outfit a bit as she walked up to the house. It didn't look like anyone was home... Oh no, had they taken Declan somewhere they deemed to be safe? If so... she'd be making an additional stop by the Ministry that morning, which was something she really didn't wish to do.
With another soft breath, Nora tapped her knuckles on the door, waiting to see what would happen that fine morning.

The morning of his trip to Hogwarts had arrived and Declan couldn't have been more excited, his parents however we much less so. He was dressed and had his few clothes packed into his travel bag before his parents had even woken up. When they did wake up, they dressed in silence and told Declan that they would be at the church, praying for him. His mother couldn't bare to look at him for fear that she would burst into tears. The last thing his father said to him was to remember that he was representing their family and that he shouldn't do anything to embarrass them. With that, his parents had left to go to church. Declan was upset that they didn't want to wait to see him off and felt tears well in his eyes. He wouldn't cry though; he wouldn't let himself! No! He was going to Hogwarts, a magical world with loads of things to do. A new start for him! Wiping his eyes, he sat on the couch with Skye's cage and smiled happily at his little friend.
When he heard the knock at the door, Declan jumped to his feet and straightened his shirt. A beige button up shirt, tucked into his slacks with his creme colored sweater vest pulled over it. He stepped into his shoes and grabbed Skye's cage. Then he hustled over to open the door, smiling at Mrs Nora. "Good morning Mrs Nora!" Declan said happily. He set Skye's cage down outside and grabbed his travel bag from inside, then stepped fully outside and locked the door. "My... uh, my parents went to church. To... to pray for me," he said, sounding part nervous and part sad. Grabbing the cage, he nodded. "Okay, I'm ready."

The twisting sensation of apparation ended and the party was left standing slightly up the block from Alice's family home. Her hands had gotten sweaty the moment they landed on the block and she almost considered giving up. Giving Sebby's hand a squeeze, she nervously chewed on her lip for a second. There was no going back. This had to happen. One page of the Bible isn't worth a life, she reminded herself. Drawing in a deep breath, Alice glanced between her friends and her Uncle, blue eyes searching each of her closest people. "Alright, let's do this," she said finally. Alice grit her teeth and put on her game face, then drew in a deep breath, releasing it slowly. It was finally time to confront her parents, to face her greatest fear... her father. "Go get them, kiddo. I'll be waiting here if you need me," Seamus said, tucking his hands into his pockets. The blonde nodded, then squeezed Seb's hand again. If she waited any long, she was going to chicken out and run away; this was it. She took a big step forward and led the way up to the townhouse that had been her home for eleven years before Hogwarts became her home. Both of her parents' cars were in the driveway. Good. Alice pushed open the door and stood in the doorway.
"Mother. Father. I'm home." She didn't try to disguise her voice at all, letting her female voice be heard. Alice was dressed in a skirt and loose shirt, allowing her female body to be seen. There was no denying that she was a girl and not a boy. Her mother was the first to appear, walking from the kitchen in the back. Blue eyes stared at her silently, her mouth slightly agape. Alice looked just like her mother, albeit much younger. Maeve stood silently by the kitchen. As the footsteps from upstairs began to descend the stairs, Maeve visibly winced and her eyes pleaded with Alice. Brian McNamara stomped down the stairs, brown eyes focused on the person in the doorway. This wasn't his son. Some... abomination had taken his place and dared to call him "Father". "I knew there was something wrong with you, boy," he spat the last word, attempting to remind Alice of who she was. The teen squeezed her boyfriend's hand and looked defiantly up at her father, who was still standing on the stairs to assert his dominance. "F-Father, I-I'm n-not a b-boy anymore," Alice stumbled out. Her heart was hammering in her throat and she could hear the blood pounding in her ears.Steel yourself... One page of the Bible isn't worth a life. The sneer plastered on Brian's face didn't move as she spoke. "Speak up, you cowardly child!" he roared. Maeve winced again from the kitchen, but didn't move to speak or defend Alice. The blonde grit her teeth and furrowed her brow. Her lips tightened and she puffed out her chest a little.
"You heard me," she said defiantly. "I. Am not. A boy. Anymore. Father." Alice stamped her foot as she spoke the last word. She wasn't very tall and she wasn't very imposing, but when she got angry, she could be very intimidating. "You would dare to call me that when you're... you're doing this! You're an abomination! You're going to Hell!" There he went, bringing up the true source of his hatred, his perversion of the Bible to fuel his hate. "The Bible says-" he started, but Alice cut him off. "One page of the Bible isn't worth a life!" she screamed. "I'm your child! Your only child! Would you cut me off for being myself?!" Tears streamed down her face, but she didn't stop. "Can't you just love me for who I am?!?" Brian stepped off the step and reached out, grabbing her arm. "No! You're an abomination! I'm going to beat the girl out of you!" Alice tugged her arm back, twisting as she did to break his grip. Before she knew what she was doing, her hand went into her pocket and pulled out her wand, pointing it directly at her father. "Touch me again and I swear to God, I will turn you into a toad, you wretched human being!"
Brian remembered seeing that witch woman do magic and he knew what those sticks could do. Having one pointed at him, and the obvious threat, send fear spikes through the man. He stumbled backwards and tripped over his own feet, landed hard on the floor. Alice stepped forward and kept her wand trained on him. "Last chance Father. Give up your hate." Brian winced and pee escaped from him, soaking the front of his pants. "Get out of my house! My son is dead! Get out! now!" he yelled from the floor, raising his arms to protect himself. Alice huffed a sigh. That was what she expected... no understanding. "Come on guys, let's go," she said quietly, looking down on her father. This man had been her biggest fear for fifteen years. Seeing him cowering on the floor, having wet his pants in fear... that broke it. She wasn't afraid of him anymore. The blonde tucked her wand into her pocket and turned, leading the way out the door.

Urgh, Apparation always made his tummy feel a little silly, especially given that all he'd eaten that day was breakfast and a bunch of train sweets. But they were in a quaint neighborhood and Seb couldn't help but look around. This was where Alice had grown up? Nice little houses and kids running around in their yards? It was so much different than how he'd grown up. He let himself be distracted for a moment before Alice squeezed his hand. Green eyes looked over and met blue, the teen offering a small, but hopefully supportive, smile. "Let's do this indeed. Lead the way, Liss." He nodded, still holding her hand.
As they walked into one of the houses, Seb just squished in beside his girlfriend. He, with his messy violet hair, multiple ear piercings, and less than formal dress may just help pull some focus off her. It was her moment, yes, but he wanted to do anything he possibly could to keep her safe. He'd spent way too many hours consoling her after she'd struggled with him, held her on the train as she sobbed brokenly at the thought of going home.... it wasn't fair. Alice was the nicest person ever! She didn't deserve anything bad to happen ever. His ears perked a bit as he heard someone walking upstairs, but also toward the back. First to appear must've been Maeve, Alice's mum. She didn't even greet her child! There weren't words at all, just a look of surprise.
And then, him. Seb stiffened a bit, looking over at Brian. Yep. Even down to the scent of him, he was a scumbag. When the man practically spit over the word 'boy', Seb couldn't help the small growl that formed in his throat. His hand was squeezed, and he returned the gesture, practically prickling up in annoyance. Alice tried to speak and Seb waited for any hint of their signal. Ooooh, let 'em have at this jerk. The Gryffindor shifted, giving Alice's shoulder a squeeze to help her nerves. He might not be able to speak right now, but he would always stand beside her. His green eyes narrowed at Maeve, who winced but refused to step in. What kind of mother wouldn't do anything to help their child? His had made countless sacrifices for him. Heck, his mama would be here fighting, had she been invited.
Seb had to bite back his anger as Brian started telling her she was going to hell. Seb figured if anyone was going there on an express train, it for sure wasn't Alice. He was a little startled when she repeated a line from the song he and Ella had written. Well, that felt a little good. But then Alice's pained words, her teary eyes... it made Seb's heart hurt. These jerks didn't deserve a single kindness, and he'd make it his mission to make sure they could never get their stupid hands on Alice. Never again. Her words imploring her parents to love her for who she was made him want to cry, and yet, it also fueled the fire deep in his chest. When Brian lunged for her, Seb moved to fight him, but surprisingly, Alice got to him first.
He watched in awe as she threatened to turn him into a toad, even calling him a wretched human. And then... it was over. The man had fallen over and the distinctive scent of urine made Seb's nose wrinkle. He yelled again, but the moment was over. Alice said they should leave. She pushed her wand away, stepping out. Seb sent a final glare toward the two crappy parents... no, they didn't deserve that title. No real parent would ever hurt their kid. These were just mean adults. Making sure Alice was out of view, Seb flipped them the bird before turning to stomp out too. Making sure all the others were out as well, he tapped into his strength to slam the McNamara door behind them. Letting out a heavy sigh, he pulled Alice into a hug. "I'm so proud of you, Liss."
Luna Tamara Lovette ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ Ravenclaw ☆ Sixth Year Pureblood ☆ Sixteen Year Old
★ Location : Platform 9¾ ➔ McNamara House ★ Company : Alice, Seb, Lyric, Uncle Seamus
Luna appeared on the street that Alice’s family home was on. The neighbourhood reminded her of where her mother grew up. It wasn’t all too different from her own home if she was being honest. Seemed nice, somewhere you’d want to grow up. From the outside, the house looked like a place that would be welcoming. Full of memories that were should be happy. On the inside, Luna knew the truth. She could tell it was somewhere Alice would rather not be. Perhaps it was because she was about to tell her truth to her parents, or maybe it was her parents in general. Either way, as a friend she was there. There was nothing more that could be said.
Fiddling nervously with the ends of her sleeves, Luna followed her friend up to the door. Entering the townhouse, she planned for the worse and hoped for the best. Looking around, she forced herself to appear confident. Seeing Alice’s mother, Luna found it odd that there wasn’t even so much as a hello. Her mother would always light up to see them after being away for so long. Then there was Alice’s father… he gave an air of uneasiness. Luna tried not to let it show.
Then there’s what he said, Luna’s feelings changed to that of irritation. She could feel the tension coming from Seb. Once again Alice’s mother stayed silent. The one who didn’t stay silent was Alice, she told her father just were to get off. Luna tensed when Alice was grabbed. As quickly as it happened, Alice’s wand was out. Falling over in terror, it was clear Alice had won. Maybe not in the way she thought she would, but she had in some.
Leaving the house Luna didn’t give them a second glance. They didn’t deserve any more of their time. Alice deserved better. No one needed parents like that. The Ravenclaw couldn’t believe having such parents. They certainly didn’t deserve the title. Now Alice could move forward, with those who cared around her. “You did great, Alice.” Luna smiled as Seb pulled Alice into a hug. Nothing else needed to be said.

Creative, smart, and quite a curiosity on you, eh? You are your parents' child and their home will be yours too! Ravenclaw!
If I'ma be sad, I'ma do it with pizzazz And shake these feelings off my a** They'll find me in some glitter if I crash (Do it wit' pizzazz) 'Cause if the feeling never pass Then at least I flipped this s**t into some cash
🍀☯🌷☮Lyric popped into existence with the rest of the group, trying very hard to not shake his head while it was still spinning because of what happened last time. Apparition was one of the only things he hadn't gotten used to from the magical world and he had a feeling it was just never going to get better. He followed along with the others and hung back so that Alice could have her confrontation and be a supportive force. For a brief moment he'd considered looking slightly threatening as her mother opened the door but with Seb already starting to growl, he settled on cycling between general disapproval and disgust. He was also really glad his friend had decided to settle this at her home because had this been done at a church he might've had to decline. Lyric disliked thinking about or even acknowledging it but he recognized that it was a trigger for him and that his rather chaotic upbringing would of course leave some lasting marks; regardless of how long he'd been away.
He snapped back into reality as he heard Alice recite a line from the (slightly sappy but hell, it was cute) song and his face turned bright with approval for a few moments before the glare settled back in. Least he wasn't turning into an engine like Seb was; the guy would really need to reel it in before things went...hairy. In the end, it thankfully didn't come to that but unfortunately he wasn't able to complete any of this threats. Even though he thought it'd be in bad taste to kick a man while he was down. "Damn Alice, he really is a piss poor excuse of a father." Lyric muttered, loud enough for the couple to hear as they walked away. Just because he knows it's in bad doesn't mean he still wouldn't do it! Or enjoy it!
Every hour spent in isolation makes it easier to face annihilation (I'ma do it wit' pizzazz) Either you gon' shake or be shaken And I just ain't the type to keep waitin'
Alice continued walking, trying not to scream or cry or turn back to go and hurt them for the way they hurt her. Once they had gotten far enough away, she stopped and let herself process everything. Seb said he was proud of her, Luna said she did great, and Lyric had said that, in different words, that her parents sucked. Letting out a little sigh, she wiped away the tears that had streaked from her eyes and smudged her makeup a little. Glancing back up the road at the house, she looked back to her friends and smiled. "It's done. It's really done." For a moment, the tears continued to streak down her cheeks, then she started to laugh. After a hearty laugh, she pulled her friends into a big hug. "I'm finally free," she said to them. Sure, she was homeless now, but that was something she'd figure out at a later time.
Seamus walked over to them, assessing them as he approached. No one was hurt or looked relatively pissed off, that was good. He didn't have to curse anyone. "How'd it go, kiddo?" he asked, since Alice seemed to be in a jovial mood. "Well, I'm homeless now, but otherwise, I feel like a weight is off my chest." So, it went about exactly as Seamus expected. Those ignorant assholes could never accept her for who she was. But at least she was alright. "About that, Erin and I, we kind of expected their reaction and, well, you're going to come live with us. Erin and Genie have been preparing your room in our house." The two had been working hard all day to turn his office back into a bedroom for the girl. He'd also prepared some legal documents to make her independence from her parents official. But that part could wait a few days. "Alright children, after all this excitement, I think you deserve a nice meal. I'm taking you all out for dinner, then I'll get you home." He held out his hand for Alice and she joined hands with the others, then they disappeared from her old home.
