Pastel nodded. "Fine art, yes. My dad dabbles in fashion and glass blowing. My mother is a very technical artist." She shuffled in her chair. "They don't approve of dancing as artistic. It's too loud too... spontaneous." She shrugged."I'm nowhere near as creative as them but it's my passion." She smiled a bit. "I like it all... from modern EDM to Classical Ballroom." Though she rarely shares her classical side.

"That sounds lovely. We will all need to meet someday." She flashed a small smile before turning to her pasta.
"Glass blowing?! That sounds so Cool!"

"Yeah. It is." She shuffled awkwardly in her seat. It didn't seem like Swizzle's mom wasn't too interested about what she was saying. It made Pastel feel terrible. She hadn't spoken to her parents in a very long time. She was tired of clashing with them and moved out.Sure it had been difficult but she managed to make it and even found someone to share her rather bland life with. Pastel was lost in thought and prodded at her meal, not eating anything. Which was way off after stating how absolutely delicious Torte's cooking was. Her heart filled her gut and her gut was in her butt.

Swizzle looked at Pastel and then to her mom. She could tell her mom was trying but it didn't make her feel any better about the situation. "Um.. Uh.. Pastel. I think I dropped one of my hairclips. Could you help me for a bit?"
She tried to nod towards the door to encourage Pastel to agree.

Pastel tilted her head. Swizzle seemed to have all her clips. Oh! She was hinting to the other room. "Would you excuse us please?" She got up and pulled out Swizzles chair so she can easily get out. Once into the the other room she did glance about. "Did you really lose a clip?"

"O-Oh." Pastel's ears pressed back. "I don't think your mom likes me." She shuffled in her spot. "She really reminds me of my own parents so It's difficult for me. I'm sorry I'm trying." She sighed. "You're dad is really nice though. He's funny." She did adore Torte. Pastel could easily see where she got her personality from.

Swizzle sighs "she's.... always been difficult to please. I can tell she is making an attempt to be nice but it really isn't her strong suit. " swizzle runs her hoof over her mane. "... i'm sorry for putting you thru this.."

"H-hey its ok. I know this is something you wanted. It may be awkward for me but you seemed happy to see them again. Pastel leaned it and kissed swizzle on the nose. "Sometimes love means doing things you may not like for the one you love." A small goofy smile crossed her lips."Let's go finish dinner. We got this."

Swizzle nuzzled back into her partner. "Thank you Pastel."
She nods with determination in response to Pastel's last statement. "We can totally do this! "
"You can totally do what? " it was Papa and his big goofy grin. Swizzle laughs nervously.

Pastel did jump a bit. "Find... the hair clip!" She laughed awkwardly then dived towards the couch they were sitting at earlier and magically fished one from between the couch. "Is this it?" She passed the clip to Swizzle and slid off the couch to readjust herself. At least it was Torte and she felt guilt lying to him. "I also just wanted to say thank you very much for inviting me into your home." She shuffled. "I really love your daughter and I can see where she gets her..." She couldn't help it "...FIN-tastic personality from." There. Pastel was honest and felt a bit redeemed in her own way and a slight smirked crept in.

Papa smiles and looks over at Swizzle, eyes glittering "can we keep this one? I love her already."
Swizzle pockets the hairclip and laughs "well, that's the thought."
Torte wraps an arm around Pastel "you are most welcome in this humble home and uh.." he looks towards the kitchen and in a voice barely above a whisper "don't mind the misses, she'll come around. I know, I dated her. "
