As the ??? Attacked it made it's pounce on Rein_Carnation, In a flash Insidious feather black wings fanned open as he made a one b'alam wall between them and the attacker.
The large light magus was true to his promise and interfered the dastardly pounce. With his swift help and Rein_Carnation's efforts the dark '???' was subdued. However, there were more levels that must be explored! The large pale magus, had to follow the group. So firmly, he instructed Rein_Carnation to remain with the '???' and keep watch over them, till their joined descent.
Rein_Carnation
Rein_Carnation has 'Whited out.' and no longer can join the climb through the tower. Your prize will be revealed at the end! Congratulations. Thank you for helping Victor and Insidious!
As the '???' was subdued, Insidious gave a sharp look to the rest of the group and let his ebony feather wings lower on his back.
'Everyone, gather your self and maintain your barrings, we continue forward,' His raspy quite voice, strained with a audible hiss, as he raised it in volume so everb'alam heard his instruction.
'Follow me!'
With that, Insidious lead the group through a opening in the corner of the first floor's 'room'. To perhaps everyb'alam's surprise a formed vine entwined log curled around the 'wall' of the hallowed out oak. Forming a easy to navigate 'ramp' to the next floor above. At it's top threshold was another 'room'.
The lighting was just as dim as the first room, and the area was just as vast as the one before it.
And yes, the feeling was just as same as the last.....
Heavy, and foreboding. It was as if a set of eyes watched every single b'alam that scaled higher, and that they were watched even more carefully then the last.
Insidious lead the group through the second room.
Then Suddenly!

The inside of the tree was even more ominous than the outside, yet absolutely gorgeous. If Moon Shine wasn't such a wandering Nan, she'd love to live in something like this. It could house any and all other B'alam who wished to follow her, as a worshipper of the stars and moon. She could have dedicated healing rooms, storage rooms for herbs and potions, sleeping rooms... Berry gingerly nuzzled into the back of her head, bringing Moon Shine's focus back on the group, which had started to leave her. Increasing her pace, the Nan found herself catching up just in time for something to jump out of the group from the shadows. It was so dark that she couldn't make out its form too easily, and Berry gave a little yelp as he attempted to burrow beneath the scarf wrapped around her shoulders.
Moon Shine could only watch as the others fought and subdued the attacker, leaving one of the group behind to watch over the thing that jumped out at them. Moon Shine dipped her head to the B'alam as she padded by. "I'm sure we'll be back soon," she whispered softly, offering a kindhearted smile. Out the back of the room they went, into a wide open space with a spiraling vine ramp that lead further up into the tree. The Nan was enraptured by what she was seeing, the only thing keeping her moving at this moment was her little Wotter pawing at her to keep her attention. Up the ramp they went, into another room, just as dark and vast as the first.

The dark colored fire didn't escape Dusk's keen eyes little did, she'd not be much of a chronicler if such things escaped her. Duskmourne continued to jot down those who'd arrived with great description. the sudden appearance of the ??? drew more scribbling from Dusk as she wrote about the subduing of ??? by Victor with the help of the swift spotted earth tribe Nan. The two seemed to quickly get things under control. Her attention on the pair she saw Victor instruct the spotted nan to say with ???. Insidious spoke again as Dusk continued to scribe.
Insidious lead them through an opening in the corner of the room, Much to her inner awe the vines changed and moved revealing a passageway. Outwardly though she maintained her stoic look as she followed the rest of the group. The Feeling of the flood was much the same as the last, to was large and foreboding, But exciting. Dusk silently wondered inwardly if Chauncer was having as much fun. Dusk continued with her quill.
Oracle had been ready to lunge forward to aide her companion in their battle, but their guardians, of sorts, came to the victim's aide before any damage could be done. Oracle let out a sigh of relief, her head turned back to where the unusual b'alam still remained, but when the call came to gather her wits and follow on, she waved her tail goodbye to that who had been left behind and walked on with the rest of the group.
Yet now, as they entered another room, she felt a similar presence to the one that had attacked before. She readied her claws for an attack. They'd best not make the judgement that many before had made: this blind Nan could handle herself just as well as any who had been born with sight.

Pyrrha was too slow to react before the others to the attack, instead opting to hold her ground and ready to protect the others around her. Too many paws could be more hindrance than help. As it were, it seemed their two guides had the situation well under control. Though it was concerning leaving one of their number to watch over the subdued attacker, it made sense. Best not leave themselves open to attacks from the rear.
The Wind B'alam looked forward, struggling to reign in her apprehension. She didn't like heading further into the tree; as massive as it was for a tree, it was still moving further into a confined space. Her nature protested, saying she needed open air and space to maneuver should the moment call for it. With so many paws about, that was also cause for concern regarding mobility. Yet, numbers were strength when facing an unknown foe...
With a deep breath, Pyrrha continued the ascent with the group, taking in her surroundings with barely concealed wonder. What a place! Under other circumstances, she would have loved to explore more on her own. As they ascended the ramp, another room awaited them at the top. The lighting was dim, the atmosphere tense and oppressive as before. Pyrrha focused all her senses on her surroundings, eyes narrowed and searching for movement, ears seeking any source of sound...
When Manzoku had sent her out here to respond to the summons and investigate Lavender Grove, Shira wondered if he really knew what he'd been signing her up for. Because...whoah. The scope of the tree dwarfed the white nan, leaving her wide-eyed and cowed at the base of the impressive structure. A normally plush and lively tail now flicked between her legs, tail-tip twitching uneasily. She was used to feeling small - everyone was small next to dear ol' Manny - but this was something else entirely. The sheer presence of this thing made her glad that she wasn't the only B'alam here. Doubly so that they had both a benefactor, and a guide.
Shira didn't realize just how happy she was until they were attacked. She was hardly a pacifist; what she was, though, was suddenly acutely aware that Manny often took the lead in fighting. The nan had just enough to take a defensive stance, tail lashing, before the magus stepped in before them. And all too quickly, they were leaving one of their number behind. She could understand the strategy of it...she supposed...but the actual action was unsettling. She couldn't help but brush her tail against the side of the strange B'alam as they passed. Hopefully their return journey came soon, and they would come back upon their companion and their guest unscathed.

Insidious took one more glance over his shoulder to make sure there was no stragglers. He was mildly impressed with the group so far, they did well to follow orders. A blind Nan, a chronicler and even another feather wing like him. she seemed to be a little concerned with the close quarters. He couldn't blame her, Insidious himself was happy for the few 'cracks' and purposeful openings for 'windows' in the bark, Made for easy exit if one had to flee....
A curious brow momentary made a glance at the weird little wobbly....thing that followed the water nan. How curious, it must have been a creature native to their tribe. With a flare of his dark whispers, and a flick of his tail he felt the gray eyes of the larger Tah watching him....
Suspiciously no doubt.
Tch.
'Watch your paws.' The wind b'alam warned as he hopped over a very very small gap past the next threshold. Once past that was another climb, up a steeper branch, that seemed to be more carefully wrapped and bound by vines that crawled up the haul of the tower, decorating it in a twisted and macabre manner. Carefully they ascended, behind them was a heavy shifting on the ramp of a larger...almost chubby weight that delicately followed behind the group.
Upon entering the next floor, Insidious slowed his steps and lowered his own body. His ears attentive and alert-he did not want to be expectantly attacked...again.
THEN SUDDENLY!!!
?!
CRACK!
The sharp sound came from what could have been a stray tree branch under a miss stepped paw.
What followed seemed like a set of narrowed eyes that had been woken from a nap....Angerly
