Esmeralda looked to the teacher when he began to speak and got excited when he said they would be doing a concert with Disney songs. She was excited to see what songs she would be assigned for their assessment and if she would be doing any duets with anyone. She did not know how to read sheet music so she paid attention when she mentioned it. She would not have any trouble learning it but she knew that she had to stay focused on it first. She looked to Autumn when she asked if they knew sheet music. She shook her head. "No but I'm a fast learner" she said. She looked to Iseul when she said she didn't know. "Well I'm sure we can all help each other get it down" she said.

I don't mind Esmeralda doing a duet with Axel. I think for the love of writing said she thinks they could make a possible couple. I think she said Esme x Axel or Esme x Alistair.

VSG12 thought it was a good idea and added it to the main page. We can always add more songs if we feel like it or a full concert feel. Should be fun! I think we can do the whole "everyone takes like one or two lessons to get sheet music" and move on to them doing Tarzan songs.

Waylon already knew about sheet music and was happy to take one of the pages and sing in front of the crowd. Ironically, he got a song that would more so easily showcase his vocal range, since most students didn't hear him sing at the start. He was given "Gorilla" by Bruno Mars and purposely went for the later half of the song with the high notes. He sang them with perfect accuracy and even went higher than the original song just to show off. Mister Hardwick was fist-bumping the air in excitement during his performance and everyone applauded afterwards. He didn't showoff because he wanted to be the best out of everyone, just to show his range. He did a modest bow and handed the sheet music back to the teacher.
"It wasn't that good," he muttered to those around him.

"I haven't read or wrote sheet music in a long time, but I knew it once. So I should be able to pick it up quickly again. I can help you guys if you need it," she stated.
Most conversations had died down because everyone was so focused on the notes being written on the board. After a while of writing, Mister Hardwick began explaining sheet music basics and giving examples. After about twenty minutes of explanations and discussions, he took out several pages of sample music, lyrics included, and handed them out to students who said they were most confident with reading the sheet music. Autumn felt she was ready by this time and was given sheet music for "Time" by Pink Floyd, a song she didn't know off by heart. Each student was asked to sing part of the song from the page as best as they could. Autumn went first and felt she did well, aside from missing a note and holding one for too little time. Mister Hardwick said she had done exceptionally well and was proud of her bravery to go first. Autumn felt relieved she'd done good enough in the first place.

He had been lucky enough to start getting his memories of learning sheet music back, but now he was left speechless. It was amazing how he could sing so high, but so strange at the same time. Most of the sopranos were squirming in their seats, knowing he might be able to hit higher notes than they even could. It certainly shifted the slight tension in the room to something a lot gentler; a calming effect from a showcasing talent. It was odd to say or think, but pleasant to feel.

When Waylon began singing, she was taken a-back by him choosing the difficult part of the song for most men to cover. He'd be someone to look out for. If he got into the world of the music industry, he'd be the next superstar. He seemed to have more of a musical theater/Broadway vibe, from her empathy she could sense that much, but she wouldn't assume something of him. Iseul had been busy taking down notes and was not paying attention when people began singing. She managed to hear Waylon, and it did make her blink in surprise, but she was used to that kind of behavior and skill from K-pop bands. She did applaud him quickly before resuming taking notes. It was harder for her because English was not her main language and she had no translator to help her out. Reading music wouldn't be her issue, it would be pronunciation. Her worse enemy.

Axel nodded his head when Waylon was singing the higher notes. He could sing a little higher than most guys he knew, but nothing like that. "That was sick," he said, although he was using the word to mean "good" and not bad. He hoped that Waylon would understand the slang he'd used so he didn't have to explain. He knew that Waylon would likely be one of the star students of the class, more so on talent and ability to read music, rather than showing off. He hoped he'd get to see Waylon's growth in class and hoped he didn't become a diva.

Waylon's singing was something that Kaihe had not expected, not in a million years. He was supportive and knew that, because of his showcasing of his talent, he'd be getting a lot of solos in the future. Kai, being the competitive person he was, wouldn't back down from a challenge if it came to fighting for a solo role. True, his own vocal range was a proper tenor and Waylon was better suited for a counter tenor, but he knew he had skill and would make it work. He could rap and maybe Waylon couldn't. Not that it was necessarily a competition so far, but he was getting ahead of himself.
"Awesome job, man!" he said, removing himself from his thoughts. He wanted to be a good friend and not someone who would be fighting tooth and nail for roles. He was happy with whatever he was given. More or less, there might be roles he'd fight to the death for. If they did Moana, he'd kill for the role of Maui.

POWER: Ability Learning and Imprinting
Esmeralda paid close attention to the teacher as he started to teach on reading sheet music. She wrote her notes picking up on it really quickly though she wasn't sure she was confident enough yet to get up and sing something herself. She watched Autumn as she sang and smiled clapping. "You did good" she said and then looked to Waylon surprised by his vocal range but she found it very impressive. She applauded with the others and smiled giving him a thumbs up. "That really was. His falsetto is amazing" she said responding to Meera. She was really excited to see how everyone would develop during this class and she hoped she would be able to improve a lot and really push herself.
OoC I kind of feel sad that Autumn won't really have a romantic option....no male character seems to fit her preferred personality type. redface

Waylon smiled at Esmie when she gave him a thumbs up. There were some girls that were giggling around when he smiled, almost arguing who would date him first. He could hear this and chuckled to himself. He was secretly a-sexual and didn't think people would accept him because he didn't want a sexual relationship. Sometimes, he felt like he never wanted one at all. He liked being with friends, and he is capable of deep connections, but if he was to be with someone it would be more of an emotional and intellectual relationship over anything remotely sexual, and he didn't feel that it was fair to deny someone key parts of a relationship. Someone like Esmeralda might understand, but he didn't know if he would be able to say anything of the sort just yet.

Autumn smiled to Esmeralda when she gave her appraisal of her performance and she was rolling her eyes at the girls near them, in the alto section, talking about trying to date the boy who sang before. She didn't fancy him, not just because he was white and had dreadlocks, but he didn't seem like he had the personality she looked for in a man. She wanted someone who was fun-loving, free-spirited, with an unpredictably addictive side. She wouldn't settle for anything less than what she was drawn to; her stubbornness was something she never hid from people.
"Why do some girls have to do stuff like that?" she asked Meera and Esmeralda, glancing at the group of girls laughing amongst themselves. She smiled when they were shushed and hoped they could move on with the lesson.

He started talking about getting everyone as a group to begin singing certain songs, easy nursery rhyme songs first, to get everyone confident enough to start with more complex sheet music, but nothing too detailed just yet. Esmeralda looked to the group just like everyone and rolled her eyes. She had just met Waylon but she could tell that he obviously wouldn't date any of them. She looked to Autumn and shrugged. "Some girls stay stuck in their middle school years" she said and looked to Hunter when he snapped at the girls. She stifled a laugh and was glad when they went back to learning how to read sheet music. She looked to Hardwick when he whistled to get everyone's attention again. "Agreed" she said in response to what Meera said and smiled.
Iseul wasn't paying attention to the girls, but her attention was shifted when the teacher scolded them. She jumped a little when the teacher whistled and dropped her pen. She rushed to pick it up so that she could resume writing notes. She muttered something under her breath in Korean and hoped no one would interrupt again so the class could continue along. They didn't have a lot of time left, as they were creeping up to half an hour left of the class.

Axel was impressed with Waylon's performance, but he liked Hunter's remarks better. He slid his hand through his blonde hair with a smirk as he waited for the class to resume. Luckily he didn't have to wait for a long time. "Ten bucks says those girls will interrupt again." he mentioned to the boys around him.

Kaihe laughed at Hunter's comment, knowing the girl's wouldn't have liked being told that. When Axel mentioned betting on them interrupting, he scoffed, "do you even need to make that bet?"
He really wanted to start singing some songs, getting into the swing of things. His impatience really was a hindrance to him, as he was always unwilling to wait. Kai was very much of a keep-busy-no-stopping kind of person. Always on the move, never wanting to waste a moment. Conversations were a big deal for him, but they had to be engaging. He hated small talk and the mundane conversations, preferring active talk or even debates on controversial topics.

Waylon laughed at the remark that the boys made and turned his attention back to the teacher. He wanted to get to singing as well, because it was why he was here, but it wasn't too big a deal for him. Note-taking was vital for most students who didn't know how to read and write sheet music. They'd be using those for every single song they'd sing from here on out, so everyone needed to be on board with understanding it. Interruptions would be a hindrance down the line. He wanted to focus on his classes, not girls saying they wanted to date him.

Autumn watched and waited to go over more notes. While most students seemed to be getting it, some, like the Asian girl sitting in the same row as her and Esmeralda, seemed to be struggling. She secretly hoped they didn't move straight into group music just yet because some would panic. Perhaps those students would need extra time of study outside of class, but Mister Hardwick seemed to be the type of person to make sure everyone was on track. She looked around and waited to see what was going to happen. Singing or more notes?

She hoped that she'd be able to get it sooner so she could dedicate herself more, but she didn't want to struggle because she didn't want to ask for help. She'd done so much on her own, she wanted to have everything perfect.

Axel blinked when Hunter nudged him, because he wasn't paying attention. He had heard what the teacher said but didn't think of performing. When a girl from across the room whistled at him and gave him a thumbs up, he knew he couldn't back down now. He took his guitar case with him and unpacked it standing at the front. He began tuning it and strummed it a few times before getting ready. He looked at everyone ready for him to start singing. He let out a laugh as he began to play his guitar. "It might not work as well on my own, but here we go," he said before he began singing. He looked around the room for a moment before his own voice and guitar overcame everything. In his mind, he was on stage at a concert, preparing for the guest singer to walk in.
Esme looked at the teacher when he offered to help students then left the floor open to the students to sing or play something. She felt comfortable with the sheet music since she had a really great memory. She heard Meera and followed her gaze to the blonde haired boy across from them. Esmeralda shrugged. "I'm not sure" she said and watched him as he walked up to the front of the room. She watched as he strummed and tuned his guitar. She was curious what he was going to play and smiled as she recognized the song. She listened to him play and knew that this song was a great duet. She wondered if he would mind if she joined. Hearing him sing the lyrics before the duet kicked in she stood and walked towards the front and started singing as she made her way to him a smile on her face as she sang the song. "Well, I found a man stronger than anyone I know He shares my dreams, I hope that someday we'll share a home I found a love to carry more than just my secrets" Her hands moving as she sang along feeling the music. Once she made it to the front she stood beside him facing the other students and swaying as she sang with him.
