Tawny would respond to Aelgeirr as he she wiped blood from her hands with a cloth. "I cant say I've been in this exact situation before but I have some experience treating wounded." Her voice then became a bit sheepish. "I lack formal training, or rather, it never stuck when it was given to me, heheh. I'm surprised by how much I'm remembering now."

Tawny then gratefully takes the healing supplies found by the monk looking girl and sets about finding another injured dwarf to treat. Its funny, even with her keen perception she hadn't noticed that girl before, yet she must have been here all along. It was nice to have more help.

Thork would then turn his attention to the more immediate area. Curtains, blankets, baking goods, anything he could give to the short human and Aelgeirr to stanch the bleeding.

The tone of the room might not have been calm, but at least they were making headway- things were improving. And, with no one quite as vocally upset as a few minutes ago, it was a good time to give it a try- see if she could calm anyone down, and perhaps get in some good graces... or learn a little scrap of information just from the conversation.

Isres

I will accept Dungeoneering being used this way because it's actually applicable, but only once (because gleaning the same information twice isn't as effective).

With what you heard of the mountain turning on the dwarves, there seems to be at least SOME merit to this. Examining their injuries objectively, you see that almost the entirety of their injuries were blunt-force impacts. Coupled with assorted dirt marks around impacts and various bits of gravel in their armors and beards... well, giants like to throw boulders, but maybe something similar happened? Or stone golems that went berserk? Who knows at this point, but it did look like they were all harmed by the very rocks of the mountain, at least.

Learning that the serious injuries were all blunt-force traumas, you are able to share this information to everyone so they aren't distracted by any superficial cuts.

Starting immediately after Isres's roll, everyone gains a +1 on Heal Checks for this Skill Challenge!

Successes: 3, Failures: 1
+5 to the next two Heal checks attempted.
Flat +1 bonus to all Heal checks.

Aelgeirr & Tawny

With Isres lending his learned expertise, he is able to nudge Aelgeirr in the right direction for which wounds would likely be most serious. Together, he and Tawny were able to ensure two of the dwarves who were teetering on the edge would be stabilized with an almost guaranteed chance at recovery.

Successes: 7, Failures: 1
Flat +1 bonus to all Heal checks.

Thork

Frosty beverage in your underaged hand, you set about checking for other impromptu materials to be transferred into first aid supplies. You are able to scrounge up some cloth materials to use as bandages, getting them ready. If you would have any concern about doing so, one of the ambassadors would give you the go-ahead to do so.

Successes: 7, Failures: 1
+5 to the next Heal check attempted.
Flat +1 bonus to all Heal checks.

Shi

There were some dwarves that were in varying states of distress because unfortunately, there just weren't enough hands to go around. You find one dwarven woman who was on the verge of panicking which would have undoubtedly exasperated not only her injuries, but those around her. Quickly rushing over, you were able to talk her down to a slightly more calmed state until she could be attended to.

Successes: 8, Failures: 1
+5 to the next Heal check attempted.
Flat +1 bonus to all Heal checks.

Next round, go!

With what he could tell from the injuries, he left the building to begin seeing what he could find outside. Roots, flowers, berries and what else he could do for food or that was known to help swelling. After all, if the trouble was mostly blunt force, then the biggest problem probably would be broken bones. Plus, many of these people may need food, and it's always best that tasted good.

Aelgeirr carefully sat a dwarf woman with a broken arm down. "Here, bite down on this. It'll help with the pain." The warlord proffered her a piece of hardtack supplied by Thork. After she did so, Aelgeirr would direct, "OK. now grab that arm of the chair with your working hand." When the dwarf had done so, Aelgeirr would get to the task of resetting the poor woman's broken arm. When he was done, and sure the woman wouldn't want to slug him, he set about securing her wounded limb and making sure it would heal properly. Aelgeirr wasn't sure how to react to the other healer's comments. Most of his training was intellectual. The only thing that came naturally to the Afvars was their size.

"Where dwarf healers?" Thork would ask continuing his search for the illusive other thing he could do, but at the moment still looking for supplies...

With the rest working smoothly, Shi continued speaking to the odd dwarf, trying to make them all calm and easy, and hoping for some information- she didn't seem to be getting much though, aside from the same odd story about the mountain everyone had already heard, and calming them. Still, if it made them peaceful and made it easier for the medics to work, it was accomplishing something.

Isres

Sharing the knowledge you've gleaned, you decide that your best bet was to turn and help the others with supplies. Heading out to the wilderness, you come back with an assortment of natural flora that might be able to help with healing. Nothing alcoholic though; that half-orc must have squeezed in before last call.

Aelgeirr & Tawny

With the supplies on hand, the two of you continue with direct application of first aid. Sweat on your brow, you look up from the last dwarves you treated and see that everyone's been taken care of and stabilized. Your hard work was not in vain.

Panting, the handful of ambassadors would take a breather, with one grabbing a pitcher and pouring glasses of water for everyone, yourselves included.

"Thank you, strangers. Sorry, your timing was a blessing for us, but probably atrocious in your eyes," the woman who first greeted you would say. Her clothes, which were rather nice and fashionable at one point, were now soiled with blood and grime, and several expendable pieces from her sleeves and hemline missing.

"After the Dwarves kicked all the other races from their home, we thought they'd do the whole 'Proud Dwarf' thing and stay within their mountain to battle... whatever is going on in there. But apparently, some of their forces had escorted out their 'civilians' - children, the sick and weary, expecting women, and the like - from some alternate side exit we didn't even know about. They've fled the area, but they brought the soldiers who escorted them out here. I... assume this isn't their starting number." Looking to the room full of incapacitated dwarves, the human woman would frown.

"I think these were their inexperienced warriors. The one who led them seemed more experience. He's upstairs currently. His name is Jhorban... Jhorban..."

"Rhinebrow," one fellow added.

"Jhorban Rhinebrow, yes. He'll probably want to thank you for your help. He was hurt too, but he seemed like the stalwart type and hasn't let on yet how bad his own injuries were. Oh! My name is Thaealyn, by the way."

Aelgeirr would drink his water and ponder on the situation. It's got to be so bad that the dwarves sent their families away. It also explains why the dwarf fighters were here instead of following their families away. Whoever is in charge expects them to return to the fighting as soon as possible. Aelgeirr muttered a short curse at the stout grunt's fate. If this caught anyone's attention, Aelgeirr didn't much care.

At the mention of the wounded dwarf commander, Aelgeirr would speak out, "I've got experience with stubborn dwarf patients. Would you like me to tend to him?"

That brought a frown- if the civilians were leaving, not only did it sound more dangerous than Shi had expected, but when she got in... there might well not be anyone left who could help her find or interpret the kind of thing she was looking for, even if it was there. Still, there were a lot of reasons to want to not leave just yet, with no other pressing matters to attend. Chief among them curiosity- but there could be some profit in this too.

And if she ever wanted to come back to this place and talk to those people who had used to be here, it probably wasn't going to happen if the mountain ate their city, or whatever they thought was going on.

Her ears perked at the tall elf offering to play doctor for that last dwarf, and without missing a beat she said "I'll gather some supplies," and stepped away, happy to continue to play the nurse to the healers if it could get things done and put her where she wanted to be unobtrusively.

Isres removed his glasses, drinking the water carefully. It was a tiring trip here, then the yelling and the gathering. Setting the cup down, he frowned before intoning a spell to clean the lenses of his glasses and returning them to his face. "Honestly, I'd love to know what exactly is going on there. And help them someway if able. If Mr. Rhinebrow is an experienced warrior, it's possible he could have leverage to allow people in to assist the rest of the dwarves that have stayed behind. Those that can help defend or even set out into the mountain to find what is going on exactly and perhaps correct it before Coppersledge is fully lost."

"Well then, what are we waiting for? Let us go meet him!" Barring any obstructions, Tawny would quickly down her cup of water and bound off to find a ways up stairs.

Once she made it to the second level she would seek out Mr. Rhinebrow and introduce herself. "Good afternoon, Sir. I am Tawny Tonson and I am here to help. My comrades and I just finished assisting your wounded down stairs and would like it if you could please tell us more about what's going on in the mountain."
