It was a case of what goes around, comes around or whatever sense or Karma justice one believed in. After the attempted power bomb attempt, Chrono was thumbed in the eye by the presumably weakened Hiro.
Of course, Hiro could've been playing possum, he could've been driven by adrenaline, or the jarring cheers of the fans.. Perhaps he had wasn't quite ready to die..
But the difference between many of the opponents Hiro faced and Chrono, was that Chrono knew all the tricks
He opted to STILL toss Hiro into the ring apron, and 'then' go to recover from being jabbed in the eye.

Hiro braced for impact as he knew that, no matter what, he'd have to come down. He slammed down on the apron hard with most of his left shoulder, flipping downward and back onto the ground with a thud. This was a matter of life and death, and the adrenaline was what was mostly fueling him. He tried to scramble away from Chrono while he could, pain resonating throughout his back.

Clutching the eye that Hiro jabbed his thumb into, Chrono gave a growl of pain. The look, the scowl he gave the Enigma of Ethnicity was one of pure anger. 'You're only....Delaying the inevitable.. " The God of Death's voice, sinister in nature, but cold and raspy in sound.
"Why not embrace the sweet relief of death... You're almost there.. Surely you can feel it.... '

Getting a sizable distance away from Chrono, Hiro pushed up as hard as he could to get onto a knee, using the barricade to hoist himself up onto his feet entirely. We were entering dangerous territory now, as his limbs began to numb. Pain was dimming, but it was being replaced with a lack of feeling. The Embodiment of Will flexed his arms slightly before staggering forward to place two hands on the top of the steel steps and lean into them. He looked towards Chrono, his voice echoing to only Hiro. He gulped and stood up straight, throwing out his fists and yelling out, "Come and GET ME!"

'You ask the man that you blame for holding you back, the man you blame for all your hardships, the man you blame that you just weren't good enough...' The God of Death spoke, his arms stretched out. His face contorted with a twisted smirk.
He flopped his arms down and then proceeded to enter the ring. Bringing his arms back out. 'To chase you, to get you... No, Death is patient... Death can already see that you... Are already nearing Death...'

"Son of a b***h..." Hiro whispered to himself. He should have known there was no pulling Chrono into things that easily. He was going to need to go after the God of he wanted to fight him at all. Pushing himself over and up the steps, Hiro stopped on the ring apron and clutched the top rope hard, looking at his opponent with fire in his eyes. Pain was something Hiro overlooked his entire career, but would have to come to terms with tonight. Slipping through the ropes cautiously, Hiro leaned into the corner and slumped a little, staring down Chrono the whole time, as if to tell him mentally that it wouldn't be easy to kill Hiro, if that's truly what he wanted. There wasn't going to be any quit tonight. Nothing was gonna stop the Cuban-Jap but slamming into a big brick wall.
