As the tree's watcher, Lisian was surprisingly calm with the two communities celebrating out in the open- completely exposed. You'd assume he'd be eying the treeline and constantly on the lookout for some kind of movement, but instead his focus was solely on his Queen and the young flutters before them. He'd spent his time going over and over their borders, working with the Queen to ensure everything would be secure for the ceremony. She had wanted it in this very place as a symbol of trust for them all, so he'd happily pulled the extra hours necessary to work with her.
With the protection they had provided, it meant for once Lisian could feel really involved. His whole mind and focus was on this very moment. On these young Flutters starting their journey towards becoming functioning members of their society. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. He'd had a few butterflies rise up now and again whenever his mind would bring up the reminder of his part during this ceremony. It could cause him to shift the wooden box in his grip, going over in his mind the directions he had been given. He didn't want to mess up this important moment!
He's spent months working on it for these young ones. Whenever he wasn't on patrol or helping out with Xiu, he was hunched over his work. He was very meticulous about each and every one of them, working away till he could consider them perfection. It not only had to look beautiful, but the function of the item was highly important for every Flutter. He'd made sure each and every one of them were up to par, because if they weren't it would be on him. He'd even taken the time to fashion a beautiful box to lay them within. It was all a part of the presentation, but there was something special about doing it up. He'd be pleased to present the teen Flutter's their items in such a beautiful fashion.
He'd seen the movement and watched on in thankfulness of those who stepped up to retrieve the young ones who'd almost missed out. Thanks to the preparations he and the Queen had painstakingly worked on far before this ceremony even, he'd known there was nothing to worry about. To see it working so well... It was a relief. It was also nice to have others step up and help handle the situation with the nervous teens. He'd have more time to watch the ceremony and prepare to do his part. He tried not to chuckle at the poor things, he didn't blame them. Everyone was sitting here staring them down, going on and on about how important this was for them. They'd even request they speak in front of everyone! Most of the Elders could hardly speak to one another, let alone a huge group like this. This was a huge request of them!
Lisian perked up at Amaryllis' comment on wanting to care for the tree. There were many ways he could complete this task, inside and out. They certainly needed more menders, and everyone was willing to take on and teach another Flutter a trade if it meant more hands to help. He'd have to speak with him later and get some information. Lisian himself could always use another hand with the patrolling. Protecting the tree was a large duty and definitely could take on extra eyes and willing hands. He'd also gotten into the habit of attempting to help the young Flutters along, especially Xiu. Trying to find their place in the tree could be daunting at times, and he couldn't help attempting to pair them up with the best sounding position.
He made a mental note to attempt to listen to each and remember what they say. Perhaps most would already know what they'd like to do, but those with wishes more than definite answers would need a bit of help. He wasn't sure if he'd be the best to help them with, but if he could at least locate those who seemed a bit unsure then at least one Elder would know how to help, right? Idalusia spoke next and also beautifully expressed her want. There were so many ways she could give back, he wondered if she'd given a thought to how specifically. She'd be another that one of the Elders could possibly lead.
His eyes flickered to the line, and he grinned. Seemed the Elders had managed to talk the wandering teens back into the ceremony. How had they managed to miss them in the first place? Suppose they hadn't been forced to participate, but it did make him wonder about those who had doubts. He was about to lean over to say something to the Flutter next to him, when he noticed Paradise's face wet with tears. His grin turned into a compassionate smile as he mentally kicked himself for almost speaking with her about the attempted runaways. She was already emotional enough, no need to change the joy to something negative. How awful of him. Instead he laid a hand on her shoulder and leaned in close so he wouldn't disturb the ceremony, “You and Lillian did a beautiful job. Your love and pride for them shows.”Wolfs Heart Lisian speaking to Paradise!

Nova was having a hard time staying still. She was normally a ball of buzzing energy, zipping this way and that within the tree. It had always been assumed she'd calm down as she got older, but that never came true. Sure, she learned how to shut her mouth when it ran too long or how to place that energy into constructive projects. Still, there were days where she thought she could run around the length of the tree and still not be able to fall asleep at night.
She'd taken extra care on her hair and skin that day. Normally she'd be covered in dirt or leaves in some attempt at exploring a part of the tree or wanting to 'help' someone with a chore they were doing. She just wasn't scared of getting dirty if it meant fulfilling a duty. She recognized the need for some extra care on this day, and even went so far as scrubbing behind her ears and under her nails! Wow, since when had her nails gotten so dirty? In her mind she took it as a sign she'd been extra helpful recently. Now her hair and skin would shine with the excitement in her eyes!
At the moment, those sparkling her eyes were racing around along with her mind. She took in everything from the Elders from the other tree to the surrounding area. Everything her eyes landed on her mind wondered about it, questioned it, and memorized it. She wanted to take it all in and remember this day for the rest of her life. She'd been told again and again about how important this day would be and she'd been thinking about it constantly. How would she look? What would happen? Would she fall on her face at some point during it? It hadn't happened yet... maybe she should hurry up and get it over with.
Her eyes landed on Hyperion and a huge smile turned up her lips. She tried to sneakily wave at him to catch his attention, but it turned into a huge obvious wave towards him almost like she was screaming 'hey look at me! I'm doing it'! As their tree's tender, he'd been the one always there for her and her companions, he was the one she was most excited to impress today. After all his hard work tending to them she just had to do this right! Had to make him proud!
Her eyes got huge as the other tree's Queen stood before her. She'd seen her plenty, but this time was different. The Queen was focused on her and ushering her into the next phase of life. She was staring so hard her limbs began to tremble in excitement. The Queen was gorgeous up close! Did her breath smell? Could the Queen smell it? Could the Queen feel her trembling? She didn't want her to think she was scared! She was excited! Nova noticed her mouth had started to hang open a bit along with her staring so she clamped it shut and provided the largest smile possible to show the wondrous Queen how happy she was! That'd be impressive, right!?
She gave off a heavy sigh of relief as she moved on. What beautiful words she had spoken, but man that smile had been hard to keep up. She glanced down at her chest where the Queen had left her mark and gently drew her fingers over it. She didn't know if her mind was playing with her or not, but she could have sworn she still felt some warmth there. If not, her own glowing pride could have been doing it! She'd been marked!
She didn't think twice about the fact she'd be the first one speaking for their tree. Speaking was never a worry for her, it actually was almost a hobby at this point. She loved talking to any and every Flutter that would let her. She just wanted to get to know them and their place in the tree better. It was her way of exploring where she could possibly fit in. She wanted to do something big! She realized every position was important to the balance of their tree, but she couldn't help feel like she wanted to do more.
She'd started her bit up as soon as the other ended theirs, not missing a beat. “I love talking.” she started, which would have gathered some chuckles from those who'd ever been lured into a conversation with her. She grinned madly in return to those who laugh, “I've mostly loved talking to those of you who took an interest in me in return. I know I got annoying, but know that you did something for me. It's thanks to your patiences and willingness to return the favor to me that I learned so much about our home and community.”
“I saw the passion some of you had when you'd light up talking about what you did. It was some times hard being told I was too young to try something when I saw how happy it made you. I get that I had to wait and learn more in order to be of real use, but even getting turned down lit a fire in me to learn. So thanks to our communities' joint passion- I've figured out mine.”
“I love our home. I love how tenderly the trees care for us and how we respond the same. All of nature really. When we take care of what we are given, it always returns it back to us two fold. That's what I want to do. I want to tend to the trees and nature around us so we can continue to receive its blessings and protection. Not only for the gain of its gifts, of course, but out of my own love for it.”
A sudden look of nervousness came over her. It was rare so obviously this part hadn't been planned. She played with words in her mind, tripping over herself uncertainly. She loved talking, but it didn't mean she was good at it. Addressing the Queen... she felt like she should be profound and basically smart sounding, but decided she'd just speak from the heart or else lose her words completely, “Uh, I also want to thank you, Queen Belwen, for looking over us and our tree during this hard time. I can't imagine how stressful it is to have to take care of all of us.” she looked saddened by the words. Though she had never had the chance to meet their own Queen, she still felt the loss through her family and the tree. It also made her realize just how much work was cutout for Queen Belwen- doing the duty of two Queens!
“Thank you for making this so special for us.” she wrapped up quickly with an awkward bow. She did it! Phew. Now the question was, had she come off silly? Ah well, she was sure the Queen would get it. It just felt good to get that off her chest! Alright, the others needed to hurry up and finish up so she could move her legs were getting tired from staying the same place so long!Strawberri Stardust Nova's waving frantically at Hyperion like a little kid to their parent while they're on stage performing 8'D

Hyalophora couldn't WAIT for it to be her turn. When Belwen came to her with the crown and had received her symbols, sealing it all with a kiss, Hya's eyes sparkled madly.
All throughout her growing stages, Hya was a bit more rowdier than most other girls. Heck, even most boys! And a 'bit' was always an understatement. She had a need for speed, for thrills, that pure rush of adrenaline coursing through her veins. She loved to get down and dirty, accomplish tasks thought impossible for her, push her strengths to the limit. She also liked to fight and challenge others, often landing herself in trouble. Instead of learning or paying attention, her mind often wondered through various fantasy situations where she was off with her Queen, just Belwen and her, tackling mighty missions and secret tasks! Kicking butt and taking names! Keeping the tree and their fellow flutters safe all in a nights work.
Yeaaaaaah, a bit was a complete total understatement for this trouble maker. But she had made it! And here she was, surrounded by her fellow flutters and Elders, ready to take the next step of life. Adult hood! "Everyone!" she called loud excitedly as Nova finished and stepped back. Hya pranced forward, excitement coursing through her. For once in her life, her hands seemed to shake from it all. Perhaps there was a bit of nerves bundled up inside her as well. She hadn't prepared a speech, she hadn't rehearsed something over and over to herself. She just went with what came to her mind and from her heart.
"I'm so excited to be able to stand here today with you all!" she spoke to those her age first, a big grin beaming back at them. "And I'm sure I've annoyed plenty of you with my constant challenges." she giggled, tilting her head to the side in apologies. "I've always kind of felt like I knew what I wanted to do when I became old enough. I've always just felt like its so totally me to just...." she paused, scrunching up her hands in front of her and making a shaking, squeezing gesture as she fought for the right words to say. Punching people in the face didn't seem quite right at this moment. "Just protecting. Being able to keep you guys safe from harm. Stopping anyone who dared mess with my family!" she spat out the words, satisfied that those were the ones she needed.
She paused, turning to look over every Elder out there in the crowed, especially Lisianthus. "I know I caused a lot of trouble too. Several of you all saw me through that..." she said sheepishly, scuffing the tip of one hoof on the ground in a slight circle. "I may not have liked it at the time, but I can see now its taught me some things. Like specially how much you all cared, and not just for me, but for everyone. So as my thanks to you..." she paused again, beaming madly once more, one hand on her hip as it thrust to the side, other held up, fingers closed, thumb high in the air. "I'm gonna put this energy to use in the way I think I'll be most helpful!" she nodded firmly.
With her last statement, she turned towards the Queen, eyes sparkling. Oh how she idolized her queen so sooo soooo much. How much she just wanted to make Belwen proud. Silently, Hyalophora hoped her Queen could tell, could notice. "I want to be a Tree watcher. A Sentry. Let me serve you for all you've done by giving my life for the tree, to keep my family safe from whatever harm may come our way!" she finished loud and proud, beaming from ear to ear. Her wings fluttered ecstatically as she took a step back to let the others come through to speak next.

Irian smiled happily her eyes watching the younf flutters each take their turns, she inwardly chuckled at Nova's speech when the youngster mentioned her love of talking, she's heard many a tale about that. The sentry's ear twitched hearing a soft rustle behind her in the same direction she had fetched the young flutter from hiding. Her head turned slightly and she listened again. A slight frown graced the female's lips for a moment, just how many youngsters were too scared to go through this. She was certain any she'd seen during the preparations for this event were happy, many even excited about it and yet here was some who weren't... what were those Forn flutters teaching their young? Irian slipped away from where she stood once more and moved into the trees to check for more stragglers. Soon the sentry discovered the brightly colored male peering from behind the bushes, and she had guessed it again, Forn... had to be, she didn't recognize this young man either."I'm not sure what is so scary to youngsters, come now lets join your peers" she said softly as she walked up behind the male and motioned ahead of them towards Soifra, and the others.

All of this hullabaloo, Vaillantina thought to himself. It was harshing his vibes a bit but in a good way. It was a bummer that growing up meant more responsibility, but it also meant he could flirt with the mamacitas. No more resignation to only hit on other teens. Oh yeeeeah, he grinned to himself. Worth it.
As Belwen approached Vail, he tried to keep the grin off of his face. He was surprisingly calm. The whole ceremony was so surreal to him; he wondered if he would feel the same afterward. Everyone else seemed so nervous. Maybe he was doing this wrong. Luckily for the flutter, he was soon distracted by hottie queen boobs. Aaaand she kissed him! Albeit on his forehead, but he still noted that down in his book of conquests. He got some queen action.
He then let his mind drift as the others spoke in turn; he studied the rustle of the blades of grass and the soft shaking of the leaves in the breeze. He noticed a puffy cloud that looked like a bird. His stomach growled; hopefully, there'd be food after this. Vail soon realized everyone was quiet. Looking around, he realized it was his turn. With a sheepish grin and chuckle, he looked around at everyone.
"'Sup?" he started with a curt upward nod toward the male elders. "Ladies," here a nod downward to the female elders. "I'm supposed to talk about past, present, and future, I guess. I grew up in Forn Sheedhiel. It was pretty cool. School and friends and such. Had some good times. Can't really complain much. I figure I'll keep on keeping on. Working. Being a flutter. Being awesome. FORN FOREVER!" He ended with the yell and fist pump of someone who obviously did not prepare for this speech and decided to wing it at the last moment.
"Nailed it," Vail whispered as he stepped back into formation, fistbumping with the flutter on either side of him.

Their speeches were all lovely, Paradise could really see each of their big souls and personalities shining through. She mostly continued to sob, trying to keep her sniffles down so she wasn't disturbing anything. Occasionally one of the kids would say something that would cause her to giggle as she recalled a specific memory of that flutter. This ceremony was truly a beautiful thing, she hoped each and every one of them reached their dreams. Paradise felt a soft, comforting warmth as Lisianthus put his hand on her shoulder. As she turned to look at him, her face lit up in a grin that went all the way to her scrunched up eyes. She was certain that she looked a wreck from all her happy tears, but his comment meant so much to her. "Oh, thank you!" She whispered back, "they truly are amazing..." Paradise took a deep breath, a content and happy sigh. With a shake of her head, she mopped up her cheeks again.

Lillian had been quiet as she watched the little ones say their words, a sense of pride weld up in her. Such kind words, such ambitions from them all. She wiped a few tears from her eyes as she looked down to her lap. She and Paradise had to work so hard after all, looking over both trees. Did they do a good job? Did they teach the little ones everything they'd need to know? Would their Queen be happy with them? Poor Lillian had so many secret worries in her head.
But she was an elder now right? She didn't feel that 'elderly'. She still had so much to learn herself and she was suppose to teach the new Seed Tenders and Harvesters plus with the warm weather comes more seeds ohhh so much to do still! It would be nice to have some more help though.
Lillian eyes flicked back up to the ceremony and she smiled again. She'd worry about all that stuff later. It was their day after all, their very special day. For now she could sit back and watch with pride. What came tomorrow well she'd handle it then.

Delyth sat among the others of her tree, her hands comfortable in her lap and her eyes looking to and fro at the (continuously increasing) line of teenagers before her. How long it had been since they'd first hatched, yet for her who relatively rarely directly interacted with the lot of them, it felt as though it were yesterday. She could remember having quite a few intimate moments with each of them, although some certainly more than others, as she'd needed to heal the bumps and bruises they'd obtained in their youth. In fact, she could still clearly remember each of their past injuries and the causes; they were facts she'd never allow herself to forget! Who knew when such knowledge would be necessary?
Still, it felt different to see them from this light. So they were elders now... what all did that even entail? She didn't feel any different. She didn't suppose she looked any different. Yet, as it were, she and her brothers and sisters were now 'elders' to those present and yet to come in the future. Her eyes glanced down at her hands in her lap for a moment before returning to the line.
Still...
There were quite a few of them she could not recall having ever seen.
Shifting in her seat, she softly asked Lillian, "Did Harn have so many teenagers?"

Muir wasn't a bad kid by any means, but he was certainly a strange one. Growing up, he had never been one to force conversation with his peers or to be especially bothersome to the adults, instead preferring to keep to his own company. The idea of social interaction was neither terribly appealing nor adverse, so he chose the to forsake it more often than not for its relative ease. That, and it provided him with ample free time to pursue his own passion for the bounty nature around them.
Be it the insects or the animals or the plants around them, he wanted to learn everything of them! Not to utilize them for any one benefit, but simply for the sake of sating his own curiosity.
If it developed into something useful, even better.
His eyes averted from the queen's gaze as she placed the wreath upon his head, never quite having been able to ever meet another's. His mouth was curled up in an awkward, yet genuine, sort of smile, and butterflies were doing biscuits in his stomach. It had been a surprise to be among the first to receive the right; normally he preferred to blend in among the middle of the bunch. Even more concerning, however, was his little speech.
He wasn't particularly the most eloquent flutter ever.
Shifting uncomfortably in his place, he waited for quite a few of his peers to share their thoughts before finding it imperative that he be next. He bit his lip and shifted forward, then back, before taking a step forward to speak.
"Uh...." he began, his eyes shifting across the others before him.
He silently gulped.
"I'm not so good with words, but I'll try..." He again paused, this time looking to Paradise and Lillian, offering them a hesitant smile as he did so, for some encouragement. "I am really honored to be here, and I just wanted to thank all of you who helped me get to where I am; I could not have done it alone." He looked to his elders and then his peers, adding. "Hopefully I helped you too in some way."
"I don't really know what I'd like to do for the colony, but I'd love to keep learning... about our world..." he trailed off before quickly adding in. "Maybe that could help?"
At that, he paused slightly before taking an abrupt step back an looking to the others.

Calanthe hadn't notice the adult coming her way until it was too late; she'd been transfixed on what was happening in the circle. And then, suddenly, towering before her with a gentle smile, a beautiful blue male!
She was a bit too starstruck to say anything, and wordlessly took his hand when it was offered. This felt like a new adventure calling to her!
But as he led her toward the gathered group of teens, Calanthe had second thoughts. She looked back toward the safety of the trees and thought about bolting for it. Surely if she caught him off-guard he wouldn't be able to catch up to her. Would he?
And yet, as they neared the ceremony, she was able to have a better look at the Queen. And hear what was being said! As usual, curiosity got the better of her and she stood with the other teens (she'd never imagined there were so many like her, and even just her age!). Some of them were giving speeches about what living here meant to them.
Uh oh.
I'm not gonna have to give a speech, am I?!

Elias looked up wide-eyed at the pae who was sending him straight to the line-up with the other ones his age, and Siofra. Was that a tear in her wings? Elias definitely didn't want to mess with this pae. She had said something to him, but he remained quiet, unsure of what to say back. Anything he said could potentially tell the female that he didn't belong here. Maybe he did belong here? Elias wasn't sure what he wanted, the fact that he was now joining this ceremony of pae that were just like him intrigued him. He really had no idea what was going on though, maybe he would have been safer watching from the bushes. Then he could have rescued Siofra if things went South. Now, who was going to rescue them. As Elias lined up next to Siofra, he reached out for her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Elias looked around while the others spoke, when he imagined this place without all the pae in it he realized that it was the same clearing that he and Siofra were always trying to go back to. All these pae... some of them talked about brothers and sisters. Were they all a family? Were they his and Siofra's family. He glanced at Siofra again, looking uncertain.

As they made their way down the line of teenagers, she noticed Irian bringing two newcomers up into the line. Shaylee smiled appreciatively to the scout. How had they missed flutters? Perhaps just shy and were trying to hide. She subtly gave a little thumbs up to the green girl who looked awestruck by Belwen, keeping it close to the basket so hopefully others -particularly her queen- wouldn't notice.
Peculiar. As the Queens fetcher she had been in, out and around both of their trees. She didn't recall seeing these new teenagers that were being brought up. The thought of them all being recluses of Harn seemed odd to her, but she kept her feelings to herself. Surely she was thinking too much into things.
Her bright blue eyes flicked up to land on Lisian, which of course instantly wiped all thoughts in her head. Oh Lisian~ If only she was sitting beside him instead of Delyth.
Focus! She quickly shook her head to step to the side again, flashing a bright smile at Muir. Always such a strange fellow, but a good hearted one. She grinned a little broader at his awkward end to his speech. So proud of him!Irish Night Fox Lisian was looked dreamily at Daisicle Smiled at/thought about Muir Dementia_Requiem_Asumi Subtle thumbs up to Siofra

Siofra was busy trying not to look like she was out of place. She had no idea what was going on, and all the other.. flutters? her age were making speeches and seemed to know what the heck they were doing. Jade eyes were wide in panic. She had to get out of here, but she couldn't just leave and never find out if these pae were related to her or not. Maybe they knew what she was? If they knew what she was, she could tell Eli- Oh guardians someone was touching her hand! OH NO THEY WERE GOING TO EAT HER!!!
Siofra froze in place, unable to move her head to see who it was. The touch didn't feel scary, it felt a little familiar. But then the utterly gorgeous lady up at the front kinda gave her a thumbs up? Did that mean they weren't going to eat her? Or did it mean they'd be doing it soon and she should stop worrying? Siofra squeezed her eyes shut, returning the gentle squeeze to her hand. Maybe this was someone she knew. Finally thawing a little, the teen slowly turned her head. It wasn't just someone she knew. It was Elias!
"Oh Elias! Thank the guardians you're here, this is crazy!" She whispered at him, "Did you know about any of this?" She asked, still as quiet as before. What if they found out they were talking? Certainly something terrible was going to come out of it if they were caught!

Idalusia had smiled sweetly to the other teens being escorted into line beside her. They looked so scared and nervous! Odd, considering what a glorious occasion this was. Perhaps they were just unaware that they needed a speech? Thinking of the right words was hard, she'd give them that.
She kept her silence as others stepped up, smiling brightly as each of them spoke from their hearts. She couldn't ask for a better group of brothers and sisters to share this day with!
That is... until the one beside her called it crazy.
It was a whisper, so it was likely she wasn't intended to hear it... but... How was any of this crazy?! And then she she continued to the boy beside her - neither of them she had recognized so she assumed they were from Harn - asking if he knew about this ceremony.
Her face skewed in deep thought for a moment before it struck her with such impact that she audibly gasped! Her wide eyes blinked a moment before she smiled sheepishly and waved it off as a hiccup to those that may have been interrupted by her sudden outburst.
Once in the clear and attention was returned to the Flutters giving their speeches, she turned her head slightly to Siofra beside her. In the quietest whisper possible:
"I apologize, I couldn't help but overhear. Just simply nod or shake your head... are you two from Harn Sheedhiel?" she asked. She wanted to be sure before she said or did anything. They looked scared enough that she definitely didn't want to do anything that would scare them away. "Sorry, just curious, of course. I'm from Forn Sheedhiel. The name's Idalusia." she smiled sweetly.

Hyperion was equal parts excited and nervous. He'd been waiting for this day since these seeds had sprouted. As the harvester and tender of the Harn tree, he hoped he'd done enough to prepare them for what was coming. He'd not been through the ceremony himself, but he and rest of the elders had had the basics. He was watching the little ones as they stood waiting and chuckled. Nova had always been rather...enthusiastic. It was a trait he hoped she would learn how to control but never lost. Lifting his hand, he waved back and smiled. She would do well in whatever she put her mind to, he was sure of it. He had similar faith in all the young flutters, and was quite proud of them all.
His chest expanded as Queen Belwen declared the founding flutters as elders, pride for himself and his friends warming his face and heart. He missed and wondered what had happened to Queen Indilwen, but Queen Belwen was doing a fantastic job of caring for both trees. He was sure it could not be easy, but she handled it with grace.
