ToushinYusuke Got an "interesting" phone call this morning from "microsoft" by one of those "out sourced -- english is not my first language" people. This guy is claiming that there is an infection on my computer that NO antivirus can find. I'm scoffing at him already. And he wanted me to hit control + windows key + r. ( we never made it past that. ) but the point of this story is... 1. stop and think. MICROSOFT will NOT call out of the blue to "offer tech support free". 2. If the guy on the other end of the phone had to play a guessing game with me as to what windows version I am running, he obviously doesn't know s**t. 3. If he's going to sit there and argue with me over 'tech support' dude obviously is a** retarded to start with. XB IN SHORT, IF YOU GET ONE OF THESE CALLS, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. IT IS A SCAM TO GET INTO YOUR COMPUTER. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MQ-hv91fQE In case you don't understand my ranting... Have a youtube video from this dude. XD Thanks for the heads up about this too! biggrin Funny I would be waiting for a call like this, because my brother works for Microsoft and it would be fun to find out what really would happen when my brother would find out about this. stare

I didn't have the time or patience to play with these morons today I had other calls to make, and s**t to do. And if they're hoping to try and get credit / debit card info off this thing, good luck to them, never once entered it into this computer in all the years I have had it. S'why they make gift cards for online shopping. >B
Guy probably woulda s**t himself if I told him I didn't know what 'windows' was, or if 'I have one in every room of the house, and I like to sit at it and stare at the neighbors'. XB

Yes I got it - thanks! I finally figured it out and thanks for responding because now i know i fixed it right. XD
Scammers! I had someone call me like that 2 days ago and they got my name and my number from i dont know where but i told him he had the wrong number and hung up as I knew it was a scam.
a couple of years ago they had my comcast email which i never give out and my name and phone. I knew it was a scam so let him talk but when he tried to send me to their infected site I told him no I was not going to their site so they could infect my computer and hung up on him. Then I changed my comcast e mail because the idiots at comcast gave me one with my name on it so I was easy for scammers to find.

Back in the day it seemed common, but now, not so much. Glad you got it changed because if they could easily get all that info, with a little more digging, they can find your home address. D<
Glad you got your chrome straightened out as well. =D
