A pleased ripple went through the smokey male's form at the greeting he received. Moving closer to actually be more a part of the group, he couldn't help a smile at the blush Charlie was now sporting. "Hello, Charlie. It is not exactly tea, but one could have that any time. I am pleased to be the cause of that, and the blush." Giving him a wink, he then quietly listened. Crossing his arms over his chest, slight nods were given as he took in the information. Tobias raised a brow though, this certainly sounded like the start of many a story he had read. Gaze shifting off to the side as he waited for others to make ready, he considered whether or not to shift to being solid. He might need to at some point, but for now best to conserve energy and stay in his usual form.
((That was a sweet message, thank you. I intend to be terrible for the moment and keep it to myself, if that's alright. I think we all might be sentimental puddles before this is all said and done. ))

She peeks up and gives Charming a little smile. "I-I remember you telling me about this journey before and well I-I don't want you to disappear like the other time." Even in the warm place, she couldn't help a shudder at that thought. Being the good friend he was, Charming had gotten her a drink and as he went about telling them what to expect first as they began their journey, she sipped at the drink. Not bad, he knew a good drink. When he finished speaking, she poked her index fingers together looking at her drink. "Is it named that for literal reasons? We have lights, r-right?" It wasn't so much a fear of darkness that made her ask as not being able to see for certain the others were still near.

"It's the trees."
Charlie looked at Gigi as he answered her question,
"Tall, old, dense and having absorbed a little bit of the magic of the mountain through their roots. They almost block out the sun. I brought an torch or two we can use, but it's usually not to bad this time of day. The sun is high enough that there's a dim emerald light filtering through the leaves still. That's why I planned on starting now."
As Tobias joined the group, Charlie could feel a smile that started from the heart of his chest slide onto his face. Tobias had mentioned a cooling effect, but the only thing Charlie felt was fuzzy and warm.
"We, we can always stop for tea on the way. I brought supplies and the view from the mountain is always lovely."
Charlie leaned in closer to Tobias to whisper,
"Not as lovely as you, but I am excited to share it with you."
Straightening, Charlie cleared his throat and addressed the rest of the group,
"Of course. I brought enough for everyone. Here, Gigi, you take this torch."
He reached into the pouch on his belt and handed her a small blue Maglite, pulling out a second one for himself.
"Shall we get going?"
Charlie lead the way out of the tavern, down the road and to the forest. The further into the woods the path went, the taller the trees and dimmer the light. It was quiet, there were no sounds of birds. No chatter of squirrels. Travelers here could never shake the feeling they were being watched by unseen eyes.
(@Fading I'm just so full of feels! The rp is supposed to be light and fun, but it's hard keeping the feels-train out of the anons.
@Gigi *hugs* I will be as careful as I can with those strings!)

Minty had been in forest before, but none quite as...uneasy as this one. She felt like she was being hunted and kept looking around, trying to see what wasn't there. Charming had been right, it was light enough to see, but she found herself wishing they had more that just the two flashlights. Like a child waking up from a nightmare, it felt like more light would banish whatever lurked in the shadows.
"So...uh...how far is it through the forest?" She tried to ask casually, sticking close to the group.
(Dressed for adventure now! I even brought a phoenix down.

Hearing about the trees and the light that would be there sounded rather lovely to him. He couldn't help a soft murmur as he tried to picture it. "I wonder if the light is ruby in autumn.." Charlie's words brought him back to the conversation, and he gazed over at him with a smile. "So long as I can see this journey through with you, I will he happy. Tea would merely be icing on the cake." At the whispered words, Tobias closed his eyes still smiling as he whispered back. "You are too kind, my gentle breeze. Thank you, I feel honored. I may enjoy the view getting there more though." His eyes opened to slits to give Charlie a gaze before they got going. Tobias followed along with the rest, gaze going here and there as they entered the wood. The light was much to his liking. His vision would have done better minus the torches, but they were probably a comfort to the others. What did strike him was a completely new sensation, this feeling of being watched. As one who usually went unnoticed this was a rather foreign concept. Unconsciously, his form became slightly harder to see as they continued.
((You certainly aren't kidding, there may have to be response messages. Thank you again, these messages are so sweet and now I crave for art.. ))
Having already missed the drinking -- scandalous indeed for her -- Ravena hurried down the path that lead from the tavern. Good, their foot prints were still visible. The Starlight Princess tracked her friends all the way to the wood, where she slowed her progress some. These tracks were fresh, so they couldn't be too far ahead. Using Raiden to light her way, her guardian star and dearest friend, she made her way through the trees and underbrush, admiring the scenery. The farther in Rae went, the more she felt like she was being watched. That's never a good sign..
Rai flickered, but she had already spotted her friends' torch lights. Quickening her steps until she drew nearer, the tiny princess waved once the others were in sight, hailing them from a distance. "Heeeyyyy! Hope I'm not too late!" Coming to a halt at the back of the group, she looked around from one person to the next, tucking a strand of very pink hair behind an ear that had come loose from its ponytail.
Yes, there was Minty, and adorable Gigi, and even Toby had come out from seclusion to join them! Straightening out her sleeve cuffs, Rae finally focused on the guest of honor as it were. Sad though she was at the prospect of one of her dearest friends departing for locales unknown, she promised herself she would not let her grief show. Briefly thankful for all the royal conditioning, Rae hesitantly approached closer. "I am sorry I'm tardy, but I had other things I had to attend to. I wouldn't miss this adventure for the world.."
((I may need to be prodded about responding, seeing as the hours I keep are few and far between. Let me make an outfit for this, too. Fafnir will simply have to deal with it.

Prince followed the group down to the forest. He was quite partial to a stroll through the woods and had spent much of his childhood navigating the forests around his palace. But this place was unlike other he had been to. It seemed that shadows were lurking just outside their vision, waiting to pounce. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end and he felt a shiver down his spine. Xavier lingered by Minty, echoing her sentiments in his mind as to how far they were going to go.
"So Charming, do you spend much time here? In the forest?"
