Well this is where it gets annoying as wary isnt blanket perception checks but im gonna assume instead that it applies.
4k2 with 2 extra incase of splosions. 17-5=12

4k3 + 2 dice for explosions = 18 before penalty.
Why a -5 penalty? Why not just bump up the TN by 5?

Because it's something you can avoid wink For future reference, if one of you does not scout around to ensure that the area you are passing through and/or camping in is safe, then the party will find it more difficult to ascertain their general safety when they do things like bed down for the night.

@ GM: On your latest post, I want a bit more to go on before I do so. What is the nature of the "collapse"? Is it a slow fainting, or almost immediate? Also, does she stay mounted, immediately plummet, or is she falling from the saddle slowly enough for her to potentially be caught?

Almost immediate. If you want to be husbandly, there's time for you to do so...otherwise, she collapses on top of her horse as described. She's an Utaku. Aneksi stays mounted.
