Character exploration is something I like to do myself, and I think it's a good idea, Mephiles. As for the timeline paralleling, the history idea is good too. Both character and history exploration is something I find to help understand what could have been with bringing the character further along in their life. Although it is not canon, it's something that could turn out to be canon, provided the original creators took a look at the work. I.E.: Prior storywriting on the fan's part. You know what I mean, Rouge 3nodding

Thanks guys! classified_jet If there is anything at all that you think should be different than by all means just let me know. lol I wanna make sure this is approved by just about everyone before I consider using it.
And yes if I remember correctly, Pit, Mephiles did show up in the No Zone Jail where Scourge was being held at and you can even see him escaping in one of the scenes. I actually completely forgot about that, but I wasn't sure if I would be using any history/background information from the Archie Comics.
Oh and the temple in the jungle, you mean the Lost World temple? The ancient Echidna one? I didn't want to change anything so I didn't mean that temple specifically. The created "Dark Gaia Temple" I was talking about, isn't any normal structure. It would be sort of made of shadows and dark crystalline elements. It's not that big and it would be hidden in the jungle. (I would provide a picture if I could find one without the actual movie "Dark Crystal" coming up every time I mention something dark and a crystal on google. lol)

10 years in the past from present time on January 1st = The revival of Mephiles and Iblis
1 to 10 years in the future from present day time in January 1st = Shadow the Hedgehog and Silver the hedgehog go back in time to the point of Mephiles's and Iblis's revival and they seal them away before Shadow and Silver return to their present day time.
5 years in the past from present day time in January 1st = Shadow the hedgehog from that present day, released Mephiles unknowingly; leading Mephiles to absorb Shadow's own shadow, explain only who Mephiles was (sort of like the scene in 06 when they released Mephiles), and than teleport Shadow elsewhere with his own form of a chaos control.
4 > 3 years in the past from present day time in January 1st = Mephiles acquired the purple chaos emerald(SPECIAL/ABNORMAL CASE) and had traveled to the United Federation to the Mystic Ruins.
2 > 1 year(s) in the past from present day time in January 1st = Mephiles had used the power of the chaos emerald to build the "Dark Gaia Temple" deep within the Jungles near the Mystic Ruins Station overtime, taking about a year to achieve for the base structure to form from shadows and then the next year to stabilize it into dark crystalline elements.
Current time in January 1st = Mephiles and his own chaos emerald senses the presence of another "Chaos emerald" signature nearby and decides to look into it.

Halp? Well basically for my part I've just been trying to get a stable background history for Mephiles since the original background history was technically erased from time. Other than that, Knuckles and Sophie have met on Angel Island a night ago so I suppose you could say that day was December 31st Tuesday. Now it's the next day (HAPPY NEWYEAR) and it is January 1st Wednesday. So it's still pretty very much cold in the world right now.
From what I gather, everyone's going to be meeting on Angel Island for specific reasons and then Mephiles (or some other villain) is going to interrupt their gathering and teleport everyone to separate locations all spread out. So I guess that would begin the first story plot where everyone tries to come together, work together, and stop the villain?

Also, not sure if this is legit, but the Sonic News Network Trivia section for Mephiles' (Archie) article says this.. It's kind of interesting.
"According to Ian Flynn on the Bumbleking forums, he believes that Sega implied that the Time Eater was the leftover matter of Mephiles, as such he stated that the Time Eater is an alternate state of Mephiles in the Archie comic that "slipped through a crack in time""

Think about what the Time Eater is, it's appearance, and what it is capable of. Sounds and looks awfully familiar doesn't it? Imagine if Mephiles had never absorbed Shadow's form to begin with, but still grew strong enough to move through time and take a form of his own? Of course this is also speaking for Archie's multiverse with the "Cosmic Highway."
