"Well, I had a little help from Charlie. He's been attempting to map the guild, but the building seems to refuse to be quantified." She smiled as she followed him to the couch, setting the coffee and doughnuts one the table he had indicated, "I've been drinking coffee for much too long now, completely addicted I'm afraid."

Minty arranged herself comfortably on the couch, sipping from her paper coffee cup. "My day so far is good. How is yours thus far?"

"It does rather seem to change to fit the needs of the occupants here."
Sitting on the other end of the couch, he mused on the odd yet helpful qualities of the guild. He then chuckled at what she said next.
"That good? I am still more partial to tea, but I am willing to try other things. Is it a flavored coffee?"
Coffee didn't usually interest him like tea, but Minty might have some wonderful flavor he might enjoy. Giving a nod at her day being good thus far, he thought a moment about his own day.
"Mine has been alright thus far as well. Might I add, even better now with company. Such nice company that comes baring gifts no less. May I inquire what type of my favored treat you brought?"

"Its my own mix, cream, two shots caramel, and one shot vanilla. I admit that half the fun of coffee is getting to play mad scientist." She smiled as the coffee relaxed tension in her neck, "I find tea to delicately flavored to pair with doughnuts. Which aren't anything special, just yeast ones with pink frosting. Guessing about the coffee was daring enough, I thought I'd stick to treats I knew for sure you liked."

"That does sound like an intriguing benefit to coffee. The mixture you have picked sounds delicious. May I?"
As he spoke, he made himself solid and reached just shy of the other cup. He paused with a chuckle, eyeing the doughnut box.
"My doll, having you visit is treat enough. These are simply icing on the proverbial cake."
His gaze shifted to her as he grinned.
"Will I be getting to hear of your favorite childhood candy today?"

"Maple syrup has to be one of my favorite coffee additives, and there's a local roaster who's beans I indulge in when I can. Honey and Cinnamon in coffee with cream makes it taste completely different as well. It's such a fun drink to play with." She grinned as he reached for the cup, "Of course, I hope you like it!"

Minty pried the lid off the box to reveal pink shining round doughnuts, she select one from the corner and took an enthusiastic bite, happily chewing before answering his question:

"Of course! I was always partial to gummies. It didn't really matter what form it came in, licorice, Sour Patch Kids, Gummi Worms, really any form of coagulated sugar. I actually didn't like chocolate as a child, or cheese for that matter. Gummies were always safe, and usually easy to carry around with you for the sugar-buzzed tot on the go."

Listening to all the things you could add to coffee had him pausing in reaching for the cup. He nodded listening, simply surprised by all that worked in coffee. Taking the cup at last, he raised it in a small toast.
"Thank you, I am sure I shall."
Taking a slow sip, he closed his eyes letting the flavor sit a moment before he swallowed.
"That is lovely, you doctor a fine cup of coffee."
Opening his eyes, he caught sight of the now opened doughnut box. A smile tugged at his lips, but he shifted his gaze back to Minty as she spoke about gummies.
"I see, and do you still enjoy them? Or perhaps you have a new favorite candy now. I do not believe I have tried them, I might have to at some point."

"Of course I still enjoy them, Twizzlers are still my go-to slumber party snack." She grinned, "I'm glad you like the coffee, it's replaced candy for me in many ways. I've never really had too much of a sweet tooth, my weakness tends to lie more towards breads and baked goods."

"Slumber party, that is that type of party where you think it involves sleep but everyone tries to stay awake, correct?"
The horned male was trying to be sure he was on the right train of thought with what she was saying. He might have been here for a few years now, but inevitably he still knew little of somethings. He took another sip of his coffee then reached for a doughnut. Smiling, he studied it a moment and spoke.
"Is that right? Pray tell, what are some of these baked goods you enjoy? Do you share my love of doughnuts?"
Giving her a wink, he took a bite with obvious enjoyment on his face.

"That is a very accurate explanation of a sleepover." She giggled, taking another sip of coffee, "Have you never been to one? A shame!"

"Oh, I do like a good doughnut, but my weakness lies more towards white bread and muffins."

"I am on the correct train of thought then, good. Do the Twizzlers help you to stay awake?"
Chuckling, he gave a shrug.
"I have not had the pleasure, I am sorry to say. Is it something I am in need of trying?"
Taking a bite of his doughnut, he mused on her words a moment.
"I see. Is there a particular muffin to which you are most partial?"

A pair of ruby eyes shifted their gaze to and fro. A boy looking very much like Tobias, though the horns he had were far smaller and covered by his hair, stood in a room sensing an occurrence was near. Suddenly everything started to shift and change around the boy. He didn't seem in the least surprised for this happened from time to time. His was a place one might call parallel to the world most know. There were times when this world touched the world he was from. He could somewhat see what was around him, but the colors for the most part were muted. He began to eagerly look around for these merges never lasted long.
From the looks of the place, it was a child's bedroom. He could dimly make out finger paintings around the walls. In the center of the room was a small table with a finger painting drying atop it. Going towards the table for a better look, he suddenly felt as though he were being watched. Slowly he turned and his black rimmed eyes saw a bed with a child sitting in it watching him. He braced himself ready for the inevitable. A shriek of fear or something to that effect he guessed. He had been warned that people of this world usually feared his kind.
"Are you an angel?" A small voice asked, their eyes seeming more curious than fearful.
He gulped and turned fully to face the other child and spoke. "Are you afraid?"
"I'm not sure. Will you take me away?"
The boy's form rippled not sure why the other would ask this. "No, I do not plan to take you anywhere."
"So I'm not dead and you aren't the angel who will take me from here?"
He blinked in confusion and took a step closer. "No to taking you away. I do not think you are dead both because I am not and we are talking. Are you sick or something?"
The other child nodded but smiled. "Yes, for as long as I can remember. So when I saw you all smoke like and hard to see I thought maybe you were the angel come to take me away. What's your name?"
He walked up and stood beside the bed the other child was propped up in. "I am no angel. My name is Tobias."
The child in bed studied him for a moment but kept smiling. "It got colder when you came closer, but it feels nice. Tobias hm, I'll remember that."
"What is your name?"
The other opened their mouth but he heard nothing and realized to his horror the merge was ending. "No wait! I did not hear it!"
The other child just kept smiling and slowly raised their hand waving as Tobias faded from view.
"No! I just wanted to know your name!" The smoky figure awoke, form rippling in agitation. Tobias found himself in his room in the guild, the volume to his voice seeming odd in the quiet space.
That dream of a long ago memory, he hadn't had it in so long. Taking a deep breath he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I have not thought of that memory in ages, why now?"
He let his mind travel through the memory, a somewhat sad smile coming to his lips.
"Perhaps we can meet again now that I am in your world." The smokey figured mused quietly as he stood and stretched.
"You would think me no angel now." He chuckled, running a hand through his hair past horns that were fully grown. "If only I knew your name."
With a sigh, he shook his head. He could think on this later, for now he needed to get out for awhile.

((I didn't really get to bring Fading out this Halloween, so have a peek into a moment in his past. ))

Sammy had left the cafe, briefly, in search of a customer who'd left her wallet behind. She managed to catch the woman just before she got on the bus, but somehow in the process of going back she got herself lost, heading down what appeared to be a dark alley somewhere in the general neighborhood...

"This is kind of spooky," she commented to herself, feeling the chill of the narrow space. "I can hardly see..." She reached out and felt around, her palm coming in contact with a flat surface. A dead end? No, a door. Swallowing a little she worked up the courage to knock on it. "H...hello? I'm afraid I'm a little lost...anyone home?"

OOC: That was a really cool story. ^^

He had been about to head out, his hand becoming solid as he reached to take the door knob. Hearing a voice and knock, he paused raising a brow. Opening the door, the smokey male looked out to see who had happened to find his room.
"Yes, someone is here. Hello, my dear."
He had wanted to get his mind off the memory, get out and go somewhere. However, he wouldn't leave someone in need.
"Lost, you say? This particular spot is rather out of the way. Where did you need to go?"
Ruby eyes gazed down at the girl before him. The eyebrow above one eye remained raised, though it was now more from concern.

((Thank you. I thought it might give me a push to continue it. ))

Sammy stepped back half a step when the door suddenly creaked open without a response to prepare her for it. Looking down on her was a tall, blurry form, something not too unusual as she figured it must have something to do with the shadows obscuring his features. Two horns and a pair of red eyes did somewhat put her at dis-ease, if only for a second.

"Ah..." She cleared her throat and composed herself. "I'm Sammy...from the Sugar Rush Cafe... I stepped out to return something someone left behind and I must've taken a wrong turn getting back." she explained.

Regarding her a moment, he gave a slight nod and moved back enough to give her a bow.
"A pleasure to meet you, Sammy. My name is Tobias."
Straightening, he slowly became solid, causing the temperature to become far less chilled. One rarely misses when their appearance startles another. Perhaps being solid instead of his usual smokey self would put her at ease.
"I see. Sounds very admirable of you. I am not familiar with that particular cafe, however I believe I could lead or direct you to somewhere you would recognize. Then you could find it from there, how does that sound?"

Sammy blinked and clasped her hands together, astonished to see the blurry figure solidify and the cool draft dissipate in turn.

Sugoi...Can he transform too? she thought in amazement.
Oh great, I'm turning Japanese again...

"It's nice to meet you Tobias." she offered, folding one ankle behind the other and curtsying in her waitress uniform. "That sounds perfect, and very kind of you. I really appreciate it. This is my first job so I'm still sort of learning the area."
