Abby stretched, wrapped up in a scarf and anything else warm she could find. It was cold out there and she was planning on trying to grant a wish. She didn't want to take too long since she knew something was wrong with her and her well, letting it linger could only be bad. It was because of this she'd hurried back the next day. Thank the guardians she'd only taken about four days since her piranha bites. Abby knew time was an important thing, she didn't know exactly when Venus' day was, but she did know that she wanted to pick out a good wish for her grandmother. The marble was a wonderful wish, but it wasn't just right for Venus. The demi-goddess had decided to find something pretty and extravagant down there. There was at least one, she'd pulled it up when she went searching for her little marble.
This time though, Abby was armed with her own trinket. She planned on making a wish in her well to cleanse the well and her with it. The demi-godess closed her eyes, pulling herself to the base of her well.
Pop!
She grinned, liking this far more than she thought she would've after the first time she'd managed it. But then, maybe it was just because she loved her well so much? That was a pretty good idea of why. Abby decided not to ponder over this too much, she wanted to get on with the wishing and the finding. First, she planned to make her wish, and then try and grant her wish. That was the big part. Abby knew she was alive and that should she be able to grant a wish, she'd be able to tell if this one came true or not.
Looking down at the trinket in her hand, Abby smiled. She'd loved this thing since she was a little girl. It meant so very much to her. If it was going into the well, it would do the well good. She planned on loving the well as much as she did her trinket. The femme took a deep breath, putting all her might into wishing the well and herself clean as she dropped her little toy into the well.
Putting a wish in was an odd sensation for Abby. Now that she knew more about the well, and that something was going into it, she realizing what this new feeling was. It was a drop in the pit of her stomach. Something had entered the waters of her well. Abby knew what it was, but that dropping felt like something she experienced when she was in trouble. Her brilliant blue eyes looked around, trying to sense danger. Seeing none, Abby looked back at the well. The water was smooth and kind. Just as it had been moments before. Had she felt the trinket landing inside the well?
Blinking, Abby swung her legs over the side. She was about to jump in when she remembered that she was still wearing her winter gear. She laughed to herself, unwrapping from the scarf, mittens, and hat. Abby placed them on the edge of the well, near her little safe spot for the marble and anything else precious she needed to keep at the well.
With a grin, she dropped into the water below.

Abhisneha's inexperience with wishing wells had led her to more peril. The waters are tainted, so wishing on them causes the wishes to be tainted as well. Wishing for health and purity only brought the opposite. Once Abby's feet touch the tainted waters, it will crawl up her legs like dark purple tendrils of thick, sentient, viscous fluid. It pulled her down slowly, working its way up her body until she was completely covered. Her powers are now dampened completely and the tainted fluid is pulling her down into the depths of the well.

"Back so soon?" asks Portia with a small smile as the chubby pink fairy comes back into view. She frowns lightly as it hands her the note and flits off with no response except a drunken hiccup. And to pause to drink some of her pond's water. "It's not for drinking!" she calls after it, swatting at it with the piece of paper it had just delivered. How inconsiderate, she thinks. Evidently they were starting the wedding festivities early up there. She pushes her thumb under the seal to open the note, then scans it.
"Most immediately?" she asks aloud, somewhat confused. Well, if it was important enough to bother interrupting the pre-party partying and send a messenger from way up there where Mother and her relatives lived, it was certainly important enough for her to leave her pond momentarily. Portia dashes out of her hut-on-stilts and skids to a halt in front of her pond. She bends over and cups some water in her hand.
Okay, I have the water. Where did the map say I was supposed to go? She looks around for the note. She'd dropped it on her porch when she'd come out here. She walks over to it, her hands still cupped with water in them. It was beginning to seep through her fingers. She peers at the ground, but the paper had been turned over. The map is on the other side. Portia tries to overturn it with her toe, but only succeeds in it getting blown to the other side of her porch. She stamps her foot, frustrated, causing more water to spill over her fingers. Squeaking, she zips back to the pond and puts the water back. Clearly I need an alternative water delivery system.
Portia dashes back into her hut-on-stilts, pausing only to snatch the paper up from her porch before it blew away entirely. She looks around the inside of her home. It's a simple home, but all she needed was a vessel...aha! A battered metal cup she'd found buried while she was searching for fungi one day. This would make a much more better way to get the water to this "enchanted well". She'd never heard of such a thing, but it'd definitely be enchanted once the pond's water was in it!
Recalling the urgency of the message, she goes back outside, shuts her door tightly (one can never be too cautious), dips the cup into the water, then checks the map for a direction. She sprints through the woods, her wings tucked tightly against her back for speed. This would be quicker if she were Silvana, who could zip through the trees like the fastest forest spirit. But this wasn't Silvana's pond, it was hers. And now it was her duty to help this well!
When she comes to the Revar River, as marked on the map, she ponders how best to get over it. It's far too fast to just wade through, and too wide to jump over. Besides, doing that would jostle all the water out of her cup! She scratches the back of her neck and ponders, then follows the itch down to where her wings attach to her shoulderblades. "Oh!" she exclaims. "Right." Unfurling her wings, she takes a flying leap, then coasts to the other side, using her wings to glide. The instant she touches down, she keeps running.
Eventually she reaches the well. She almost runs past it, except for something exceedingly creepy about the area gives her pause. "What happened here?" she asks herself aloud, looking around for the source of such a feeling of dread in the air. And then she'd spotted the well. "Oh!" She skitters over to it and peers down inside.
"Hello?" she calls. Now, she's no expert on wells, but the inside of one definitely isn't supposed to look like this. The substance inside this well looks like something you'd patch a roof with. Perhaps the well had struck oil? The knot in her stomach just looking at it tells her that this is no natural goo.
"Eugh," she observes before upending her cup into the well.

Abby frowned, having lost her trinket somewhere inside the well. The waters were getting harder for her to see through, but she could always feel everything! She crossed her arms, leaning against the wall at the bottom of her well. The demi-goddess looked around, enjoying how it felt down there. At least until someone hollered down the well.
"Hello?" She called back, only to jump when the water splashed down in her well, and onto her face. Oh goodness what the hell was that all about? Abby, shocked, popped out of the well and onto the ground just outside the well. She'd appeared with a small popping noise and no smoke. "Did you have a wish for the well?" She tilted her head, trying not to be mean. But seriously, who dumped water into a well?
Abby leaned back a little, taking in the appearance of the stranger. Long blonde hair, pale skin, interesting wings. Abby had no idea who this pae was, but if there was a wish down there from her, Abby was tempted to go back down there and try to pick up the waters to grant it.

Portia jumps at the sound of a voice. She whirls around to confront the speaker and--oh. Odd. Somehow she'd expected some kind of forest spirit or something. Instead it was a person. Where had she come from? Portia looks around slightly before answering the person's strange question.
"Uh, no..." she says slowly. She peeks back into the well. Looked like water again. That's fortunate. She looks back up at the person and frowns. "You weren't..." she looks back into the well again. She could have sworn she'd seen something moving down there. Surely it wasn't her...why would anyone be down there with that awful, malicious goo?

Abby tilted her head. "Wasn't what?" She blinked, blue eyes honestly curious. "Down in the well? Yes, I was down there." Abby offered, not thinking much of it now. She'd found pae in there before, not to mention how many times she had been down in the well herself.
"It feels... Cleaner now though. Did you have something to do with it?" She asked, realizing that she felt better now than she had the last few days. "That was you who poured the water in right?" Abby tried not to frown, still wondering who would pour water into a well. A well was meant to take water out of, or to make wishes. Not to put water back in... Wasn't it?

Portia, thoroughly confused, looks a couple times between the well, which now looked completely normal and even a little magical (which it ought to considering she just poured magic water into it), and this mysterious well-dwelling person. Who still had the viscous purple-black goo all over her. Portia takes a few steps backward.
Still, Portia didn't like her tone. It's almost like she was accusing her of cleaning up her well. Her eyes widen as she realizes that perhaps she was the source of the goo! "D-don't worry," she says, holding her hands up and backing away slowly. "It only cleaned up the well...the water only works on other water..." She can't take her eyes off the awful fluid that seemed to be crawling over the femme's legs and lower body.
"...Ihavetogogoodbye," says Portia in a rush, desperate to be away from this. She begins to dash away from the well into the forest, then disappears with a -pop!-.

Abby blinked, smiling, "I wanted to say thank yooooou?" She frowned, seeing the pae run off. Guardians she must have been scary. The femme started to rush after the kind demoness when she heard the pop. She'd gotten so very used to that pop when she was making it, Abby almost believed she was back at the base of her well. But no, she was standing where she had been trying to chase the kind pae that had cleaned her well.
She frowned, turning around to walk back. How had she scared the other pae? Was she that scary looking? Abby looked down, watching her feet as she walked. They did look a little funny since she'd taken the bites with the piranha bites. Wait, that was... Far worse looking than before! Her eyes grew wide, trying to get whatever it was off her! "Gah!" She screamed, falling down in her attempt to get clean.

Abby had a feeling it was never going to come off. There was no way that nasty tar like stuff was going to come away from her legs! She finally cut off the screaming and tried to pull herself upright. She'd never get anything done this way!
Inhaling a shaky breath, Abby folded her soft wings against her body. She needed to find help. There was no way she was going back into the well. Not looking like this. She was afraid of putting this nasty tar stuff that was on her into her precious well. The only thing on her mind was needing help. She had to have help otherwise who knew how far this stuff was going to go?
Abby groaned, starting to run, almost blindly. But she was in the woods near her well, she knew she would be safe until she ran into someone or something. She didn't even have the presence of mind to hope she ran into someone that could help her.
Harveer was just standing there, looking at the beauty of the forest that was around him. He had managed to spread the word of The Guardians to another pae, and yet he hadn't gone back to the floating city yet. He was enjoying a break from the questing. But then, he didn't get out to see the forests aside from when he was out on a task set to him by The Guardians.
Pale face shining a bit in the sunlight, Harveer had his eyes closed until he was nearly run over by a shetani that appeared to be running for her life. The teen jumped back, trying not to get in her way, but of course, he had to look to see what she was running from. He'd not noticed the taint covering her body, not the fact that she was sobbing as she ran. But he saw nothing behind her, and nothing more than trees in front of her.
"Wait!" He hollared, trying to catch up with her.

She kept running, past a pale teenager, rubbing at her eyes. Oh Guardians this was terrible! How was she ever going to get this off? Wait, she had run across someone! Maybe they could help her? Abby came to a skidding halt, trying to turn around to go back to the pale one she'd run past. That was when she ran into him.
Ouch! Abby groaned, rubbing her nose, dropping her other hand so she didn't look like she'd been sobbing while she was running. Oh this was so bad. She didn't really want anyone else to see her crying, she barely wanted Aiolos to see her cry and she spent her nights with him! "Can you help me?" She pleaded, trying not to sound as desperate as she was.
Harveer blinked, running after the girl until she stopped, turned, and smacked into him. Oh Guardians that hurt. She must have been sturdier than she looked! The teen grunted, taking a step back when she started begging him for help.
"Whoa whoa whoa, hold on a minute there." He held his hands up, "I don't even know what you need help wiiiiiiiith" Harveer had finally looked down and noticed the taint covering her legs. How could anyone be this tainted and still themselves? "No no, I'll help!" He offered, not hesitating a second longer. No shetani should have to suffer from taint. He wouldn't have been as quick to help if she had been one of those heathens, but he might have considered it.

Abby whimpered, trying not to think about what anyone would have to do to help her get rid of this star like stuff on her. Pleading blue eyes looked to the one who offered help. It was only a teenager. How could he help her at all? She had fully grown children and a god for a father and had no idea how to fix this!
Likely, her confusion at the situation showed on her face, as he sat her down and told her to be quiet. She listened, trying to be quiet. But it was just so very hard when she had all this nasty stuff covering her like that. She didn't want to spread it to anything, and it looked like it was so very willing to jump off and spread itself onto anything she touched!
The pale teenager frowned, he'd not seen a pae tainted like this. Well, that wasn't entirely true, he'd never seen a pae tainted in person. "I just need you to be quiet for a minute. I can't help you if you're squirming." He tried to smile, to be reassuring. He was confident he could cleanse the taint from her body, but would it be enough?
He relaxed himself, holding his hands an inch or so away from her legs. Harveer took three cleansing breaths, concentrating on cleaning the taint away from this female. She wasn't meant to be tainted. No creature or pae'il was. It was his job to help rid the world of it. Upon the third exhale, Harveer's hands started to glow a glorious white.
He hadn't cleansed much since learning how to do it, but this particular cleansing seemed to be easier than the rest? Was it because she was so desperate to be free of it? He could only speculate as to why this one went so quickly, so easily. Though it took only a moment, it felt to him as though it were another five atop that. Once she was free, he fell back onto this rump. Exhausted.

Abby fidgeted, trying not to move at all. He wanted her still to help with whatever it was he was doing. The teen seemed to know what he was doing, she wasn't going to argue. It didn't mean she wasn't going to feel like she was under a microscope when he looked at whatever this tar stuff was all over her legs.
When his hands started to glow, she felt it rather than saw it. Abby squeezed her eyes shut nice and tight. She didn't want to see this. If she had the guts to look, she would've been granted an interesting sight of it all just dripping off like water running from her legs. And then it was gone. Over with. The femme cracked a wary, cautious eye, attempting to see if she was clean. To her vast surprise, she was! She all but squealed in delight at this. She really needed to have been cleaned! It wasn't until her blue eyes looked back at the teen who'd helped her that she realized what it might have cost him to do so.
"Are you okay?" She asked, making her way over to him. She was slow, on her hands and knees, but it was due to being cautious. Abby didn't want to disturb him if he was just resting after such a feat.
Harveer was honestly just embarrassed. He shouldn't be so tired after cleansing anything! Sure, it was a lot of taint and on a moving pae'il, but that shouldn't matter. How could anyone live with themselves when they performed so poorly? The teen groaned a little when she started moving, and grunted once she started asking questions. Sure, he had the capability to answer her, but was he going to? Not very likely. Harveer was too busy being embarrassed he'd been so tired. Maybe it was because he had been running all over the isle and back on the task set forth for all the squires? But that wouldn't be right, The Guardians wanted him to do this. He was going to finish it.
"I'm fine. Just need a minute." He finally responded, golden eyes looking up at her. She was an attractive female, even if she did have interesting wings. He'd never seen a pair quite like it. "Do you feel better now?" The pale one asked, trying to find any trace of taint remaining on her. He truly believed she was cleansed, which must have meant only one thing. She was far better than she had been not that terrible long ago.
Abby frowned, letting up a little. He'd been so kind to help her and she was absolutely useless to him! What did that mean? Probably that he didn't want her help and she was just bothering him. It wouldn't have been the first time she'd come to that conclusion. "I feel great. A lot better than I have since I was bitten." She offered, standing up. Even if he didn't want her help, Abby offered him a hand up.

His head tilted just a little, taking the offered hand. "You were bitten? By what?" He asked, curious. Even more curious, they weren't anywhere near Dragnid were they? Harveer was fairly certain this was inside the Loka Nei forest. But he could be wrong couldn't he? Much more, what tainted creatures were running wild outside of their domain? He knew they left it frequently, he'd been chased down by several of them. Maybe that was what had bitten her. It was probably just some random tainted creature that needed to get out of wherever it was now. But that meant he'd have to go track it down and cleanse it. Or kill it, depending.
"I'm not sure what it was that bit me, they were just really mean fishies." She frowned, remembering the torn up legs she'd gotten from them biting her. She'd never seen anything like it. "They were inside my w-" Abby frozen mid-word. Should she tell him about her well? It seemed like a bad idea. The last time someone visited her well it had gotten more water dumped into it. That had helped a lot too, even if Abby had run screaming from that encounter just as quickly as the other pae had. Maybe it would be better now. Mentally, she shook that thought. She wouldn't tell this teenager about her well. Not yet at least.
"They were inside my small pond. I live in these woods, tiny bodies of water all around." She frowned, chewing on her lip. It wasn't really a lie, just a lie on the location. He wouldn't notice, right? It wasn't like he had a reason to distrust her.
"A small pond with mean fish in it?" He chewed that one over in his head. Something must've tainted the fish living inside of it. Where was all these tainted creatures coming from? "Are they still there?"
"No, I got rid of all them. My pond has no fish in it now." And for that she was grateful. She had enough to search through without fishies living inside her well. Having fishies in there just complicated an already complex situation for her. "Is there anything I can do to help you?" She offered, realizing he was still rather tired from helping her out.
"All of them? Wha... Nevermind, I think I need to go." He frowned, only to smile when she offered help. No, he didn't need help. He wanted to get to the bottom of this. But he couldn't do that down here. Harveer knew he'd have to go back to the city and start asking questions or reading more books. He was content with either. There really was a vast library he could look through to see if the information was in there. Likely it would be, he'd found so much useful information there in the past.
On that, Harveer bowed, righted himself, turned around and took off into the skies. He needed to get on with his task anyway.

And like that she was left alone again. She stood there, dumbstruck by how much that seemed to be happening today. He'd been so kind to help her, and she felt so much better! She grumbled a bit, walking back to her well. There was still something left for her to do. Her grandmother wanted a wish, and she'd yet to find one. At least one that Venus would like. She liked pretty and gorgeous things, Abby was determined to find something sparkly and loveable down there. There had to be something that was like that, her well was full of trinkets after all!
She shook her head, smiling. Time to concentrate on her well, and POP! She couldn't help the giddy grin and giggle. It was just so much fun to pop to her well whenever she wanted to! The femme gently greeted the well, petting the top of it. "Nice to see us all clean again." She offered, finally clambering over the side of it to drop into the waters below.
Splash!
Abby jerked herself upright, shocked by how clear the water had gotten in the short time she was away. Okay, it might not have been short, but she most certainly hadn't been gone long enough for water to clear up like this on it's own! Had she? Her head tilted a bit, trying to figure it out. She knew they felt cleaner, ever since that demon had dumped water into the well. Maybe that was it. The water from the demon had cleaned the water in the well?
She'd figure it out later, Abby wanted to find that wish for Venus. There was going to be a lot of searching under the water for it too. But this was something she knew she could do. It would take her time, but she'd put a lot of love into it and make the gift all that much more special. With a smile, Abby took a deep breath and began a search for the perfect wish.
~~
It had taken her quite some time. She'd gone through almost every trinket in her well to choose the right one. Finally she had found the perfect wish, attached to a very sparkly item. Abby smiled, just thinking about it. Now that she had found herself that wish, she decided she was due for a nice relaxing break with Aiolos. She'd been gone so much the last few days it was hard for her to believe it had only been a few days! Abby missed him dearly.
Soaked to the bone, Abby popped out to the base of her well. She donned her winter gear, trying to warm up a little, and proceeded to stretch her wings to fly back home. Thank goodness Uncle Himeros had taught her how to fly, she'd be lost without the ability. The demi-goddess took off, flying towards her home, clutching the wish tightly to her chest. She was so very excited to make her way home and she dearly wished to make sure she didn't loose the wish. It was small enough she couldn't truly be certain it wasn't going to get lost on the flight in either direction.
