WhimsicalXellos Okay, I finally managed to get my hands on the 4th ed book. After I get the chance to skim through it, I'll give you my verdict on character/plot preferences. Also, apparently you have been trying to quote me, but you're missing a letter in my name. :/ I have the 4e book now, so I'm good with either version.
Didn't even type it out, I highlighted, copied, pasted. Apparently I missed one. Fail.
I don't necessarily think 4e is better than 3e or the other way around. The mechanics are near identical, the material is near identical. It's just little odds and ends that were shaped up.
But ultimately, 3e I think offers the potential for deadlier combat and legendary actions, whereas 4e reigns that in and makes characters hardier so they don't drop like flies if they happen to lose initiative once.

BegrudginglyGood *rematerializes and wipes stardust off her shoulders* Greetings my one and only L5R online friends... I'm still up for this, although I was wondering if I could use my Dragon character that is already made up? I've yet to use her, I think...so long ago. If not, I'm up for remaking a character like her, lol. So Dragon for me. And I'm happy with any plot, so the current leaders would be my choices as well.
What about edition preference?
