It didn't hurt me at all my first time. I'd broken my hymen before (which was slightly bloody but not painful at all). I was relaxed, I was sufficiently lubricated, and I was on top (so I was in control, which helped so the pace was set where I was comfortable and so that I could control the depth). Your first time doesn't have to hurt.
