Aimee pointed to the top of the stairs, smiling as she did and walked up it. "My room is up here." She stood at the top of the stairs, walking down the hall to a game room that had many consoles a long with a pool table. "This is my game room. I don't watch much television but I do enjoy video games. I stay outside mostly. We have an indoor pool that I use constantly, it's in the basement." She stops for a second, looking at Roulin and smiling. "My room is down this way." The red head walked down the hallway more, opening a door to a wide room that had a king sized bed and was completely open. "I don't really decorate." The girl walked over to the wall full of sketches and artwork, putting her hand on one. "These are my sister's... she died the night my parents did."

Turning to her best friend for a second with a sad look she walked over to the balcony, looking into the garden. "I really always wanted a best friend. Someone to understand me, how I thought, to help me with my powers. Now I do. It's a nice feeling but I can't help but think that I will loose everything soon enough. Loose it again like I did before." She gripped the railing as the cold wind whipped her hair around violently.

Roulin followed behind the red head while she pointed out room after to room to him. In his years of living, he'd never been inside of a house with more than one floor. Besides building's and workplaces, he'd never seen anything like it from the inside. When Aimee pointed out to him the game room, the young boy stood for a moment in awe at just what she owned. He too was on the path of a gaming child, but he lacked the funds to have the new releases she clearly owned. Keeping his eyes on the various items and electronics in the room, he replied with honesty, "You know, I doubt I'd ever be outside if I owned any of this stuff. Would you mind letting me borrow...maybe a few of these? Maybe one?"

When Aimee walked on further down the hallway, Roulin reluctantly followed while attempting to clear his mind of what joys he'd just seen. He kept silent when the sketchbook was brought out and only looked up into Aimee's eyes with a sheepish, almost apologetic stare. He could feel her pain although he'd never suffered the lost of a relative let alone an entire family. Oddly though, he could fully describe just how she felt given from his feelings alone. She proceeded to the balcony which overlooked a garden and like the guest he was, he followed closely behind her. "Always wanted one? You've never had a best friend?" asked the lavender eyed child as he leaned over the balcony's edge, the wind combing through his short hair. "I can help you with your powers, but not much. I'm not a healer. And you won't be losing anything okay? Since we're best friends, I can promise you that. You can promise me the same." And punctuating his naive words was a grin and a pat of the red head's shoulder.

Aimee looked at Roulin, rubbing her eyes. "Thank you. You can take a couple of games or the game station if you want. We can always share." Smiling gently at her friend, an abrupt noise from a silver box on the wall ended their moment, signaling her new father was home. "That would be dad. If you want you can come meet him. After that we can do whatever you want." The red head walked out of the room to the railing that over looked the huge foyer, her eyes down on the man she now called dad. "Hey. I have a friend over if that is okay?"

The tall man looked up at his new daughter and smiled, nodding. "Sure. That's fine. I'll drive him home when you guys are finished playing and stuff. If you guys need anything tell me. Also don't get hurt, rather not take you to the doctor today." The man looked away and walked into the living room to watch television.

"Okay." The red head turned to her new best friend and smiled. "So what do you want to do? You are the guest, you choose." Aimee looked away from him and to the window, watching as the wind seemed to push the leaves back and forth. "Don't feel like you have to stay out of our way or anything. You are welcome here, almost like family now."

Roulin looked over to the box that hung from the wall almost jumping from the unexpected noise. When Aimee told him just what it was, he become noticeably calmer and the light touch of red that colored his features soon vanished. "Heh, yeah. Thank you for the tour Aimee. I appreciate it. And thanks for letting me borrow some games. I promise I won't scratch them or anything like that." His voice still quivered weakly and his anticipation was palpable after the crimson haired girl mentioned her father. Not only had he not been to visit another friend's house in ages, he hadn't gone over without talking to their parents either.

Luckily, he wasn't a stickler about that kind of thing. Amiably, he replied to the kids giving them the go ahead to continue as they were. Roulin sighed heavily, but not loudly enough to give away his nervousness regarding the passing situation. Smiling brightly again, he nodded, listening to what she'd asked and said. Having a friend did feel like having another relative so maybe he could get used to both Aimee and her father if he'd visited enough. That wasn't what he chose to dwell upon though. He took her hand and guided her back to her room and the sketchbook that her deceased sister used to draw in. Sitting down next to it, he looked up, his lavender eyes leveling with her's, and asked, "Would you mind showing me some of the things your sister drew? After that, we could go get ice cream or something if that's okay."

Aimee, being guided back to her room, looked at Roulin and nodded as she sat down next to him. "That is fine with me." She stared at the spiral for a second and then opened it, showing the first picture of the family in front of the Eiffel Tower. "This is when she first came into our family. We adopted her. She said her one wish was to see the 'Big Pointy Thingy' in Paris. So we took her there the next day." Smiling as she remember the memory, she turned the page to view a close up of the mom and dad. Aimee touched their faces and seemed to be lost in thought. "This is my parents. You know my sister and I looked a lot a like, but she came from a different family. It was always weird." The red head rubbed her eyes for a second and looking at Roulin.

Turning the page and looking back at the notebook, it was the little sister and Aimee. Every single one of her pictures were very detailed, almost as if the little sister couldn't be younger than Aimee. "This is her on the bike. She was a tough one. She always fell but never seemed to care." The young girl laughed and smiled, remembering every time she thought the girl would cry but didn't. "She didn't ever show an signs of being an Owl though. But she was the sweetest thing, very quiet as well." Aimee seemed to be stuck on the picture of her and her sister, her mind wandering.

Roulin took in the images which would've resembled actual portraits hadn't it been for the over-the-top coloring. Still though, the definition and details were astounding to his child eyes. "The big pointy thing in Paris? The Eiffel Tower? Oh..." His lavender eyes hadn't left the page she displayed to him and with wonder, he inspected everything critically. When she turned the page and found drawings of her parents, Roulin's head tilted slightly. At first glance, he knew who they were so her words were just affirmation. Hadn't it been for Aimee's change in expression, the young Italian may have said something along the lines of her parents always watching her from the pages.

"Your sister was adopted? That's interesting because you two do look like each other," said Roulin as he scooted closer to get a better view of the book. He bit back a laugh when he looked at the girl upon her bike. In his mind played the short memory of him riding a bike for the first time and falling. He put her in his place, imagining her first few tries anyway. "She probably wasn't an Owl Aimee. If she was lucky, she'd have been like a normal human. Umm, I'm sorry that you lost her as well as your parents again..." Roulin stood up and held out his hand to her while grinning as brightly as the sunshine outside. Beckoning her now, he asked, "C'mon. Let's go to the shops in town. Bring your sketchbooks. Oh, and do you have any bikes?"

Aimee looked away from the paper and smiled, closing the sketch book. "Yes I do. In the garage." She took his hand and slid off the bed, walking over to her desk and grabbing another back pack to put the sketch book in. "My sister was lucky. Always was. She came over from Italy, I hope I can go there some day." The red head looked up at Roulin, smiling now. "Maybe you can take me when we get older." She put her arms through the drawstrings of the book bag, walking out of her bedroom door and down the hall again. The little girl was excited to be going and doing something other than shopping with her father, especially now that she had a best friend to do it with. As Aimee called out to her father, she walked down the stairs and to the side door. "We are going to town. I'm taking the bikes."

The father turned on the couch and nodded, his smile seemed to be just as bright as Aimee's. "Sure. Be safe. Don't be home too late okay?"

"Okay." Aimee smiled at her new dad, walking out of the side door that connected to the three car garage. One of the cars was a new Porsche, which the father always drove. The other two were a mustang and a T-bird, both only for show. The little girl walked to the back of the garage, pulling out a black and blue bike. She rolled them out of the garage and put the kick stand down, pointing to the black bike. "Here. I'm to short for that one. I get the blue one." Smiling, the girl got onto the bike and got ready to ride. "I haven't done this for a couple of months now. Lacoste is mostly old brink roads that really aren't safe to ride bikes on. Anyways, you ready?" Aimee pulled the kick stand up with the toe of her shoe, putting her left foot on the pedal and looking at Roulin as she pushed off to get some momentum.

"Depends on how long I can stay in the area," said Roulin as he walked downstairs, stopping as Aimee spoke to her father who still sat on the couch in his own grown-up world. "If I can become what I want to be when I get older, then yeah, I won't mind taking you anywhere." The kid's smile shined with the hope and optimism and that only a kid's smile could've. Now that Aimee had her bookbag and the sketchbook on her, it was time to see just what they were dealing with in terms of transportation. Upon entering the garage which had three cars that Roulin inspected and surveyed with the eyes of a falcon, he nodded admiring the models Aimee's adoptive father had chosen. Moreover, he hoped that one day he could drive something similar to any one of the three builds.

Roulin hadn't told Aimee that his preference of color was usually black, purple or lavender. Sometimes a gradient of the three shades. Somehow, he felt that she knew when she handed over the taller black bike and opted to keep the blue one. "Yeah, I'm ready." With a confident smirk, the ten year old hopped on the bike and the memories of falling, failing, then learning all flowed back into him. Looking over to her with that same unyielding grin, Roulin lifted his kickstand using his telekinetic ability and pushed off behind Aimee. "Months you say? You should do fine as long as you keep your balance. I doubt you need me to tell you that though." Hearing that the roads were unsafe to ride on only made him want to push his limits and furthermore show-off for his new best friend. "I wonder if I can go fast on this road and not fall...that'd be soooo cool. Hey Aimee, what's your favorite kind of ice cream? Oh, and what's your favorite color?"

Aimee smiles and looks at her friend, coasting down the smooth road that lead to the outside world. "I have two favorite colors actually, white and blue. White because it's the color of innocence and purity while blue is for the ocean, a vast sea of adventure and knowledge, just waiting for us to take it by the ropes." She smiled and sighed happily, a twinkle in her eye as she did so. The girl seemed to be in her happy place now, care free and wanting to do more. "Oh and my favorite ice cream is either birthday cake or plain chocolate. Either one will satisfy me." The red head stopped at the metal box on their side of the gate, watching it open again.

"What should we do first? I have some money so we can go looking around or go eat or just have some fun." Aimee looked at her new friend then in front of her as she pushed ahead, thinking about the possibilities. She was beginning to be shy around him, which normally meant she didn't want to mess it up. The little girl normally forgave anyone and everyone, which was her nature but she just wanted to do something right.

Roulin rested his upper body against the handlebars and for only a moment swerved before regaining his balance soon afterwards. Looking at the red haired girl shortly ahead of him, he sighed in thought summing up just what his favorite colors were. When the road smoothed out, he lifted and said to her, "Purple and black I think. It causes me to get called Emo alot...I don't know what that means so I don't know if it's good or bad." The town was slowly coming into view and the young Owl could already taste the smooth flavor of vanilla and the savory taste of pistachio on his tongue.

"Instead of ice cream, maybe milkshakes? There's a Friendlies and a Shoney's in town and they're both really, really good," said the child with a bright smile. "From your house and how you dress, I can tell you have money. All the time even. Anyway, maybe after that, we can go to the park and walk around...or not. I have to be home by seven and it's going on five thirty..."

Aimee looked at her clothes and blushed, smiling a little. She looked ahead and thought for a second. She wanted to spend as much time with him as possible, so she decided the latter. "I think we should walk around, that way we can talk more. I actually like having this who being able to talk to someone thing. Oh and purple and black suits you, all the others are jealous cause they can't have you as a best friend." As she looked back at her friend, the little girl smiled brightly to let him know she was there for him. Looking back at the road, she pasted by several little shops that had different things in them such as clothes and food.

As they went further down the street they came across Friendlies. Aimee had never eaten here before so this was a new experience for her. She stopped her bike in front of the establishment and hooked her bike to the bike rack. "Alright. I will admit I have never been here before so I would say, you should lead the way." Standing up straight and looking at Roulin, the little red head rubbed her hands together to take off the rust that had transferred from the bike chain to her porcelain skin.

Roulin steered the bike with his powers now as he rode with free hands. The occasional bumps did cause him to readjust himself, but it was nothing that would've made him fall over and scrape his knee. "Good choice," the young man replied, "I'd like to learn as much as I can about you before I have to get back home." All the while he replied to the red head ahead of him, he blushed childishly and retook the handlebars in his hands. Once again, the feeling of having a best friend that he knew wouldn't be disappearing made him feel all warm inside.

They'd passed a few stores on the way to the family oriented restaurant and although none of them were new, they all drew the wanting lavender eyes of the boy. If he had the money, he'd have stopped and went on a shopping spree for himself and his middle-class family. Instead, what little he had would be drained away at the Friendlies they'd finally reached. The bike was soon hooked to the rack preventing it's theft and at Aimee's behest, he lead her into the restaurant looking back at her with a smile as he pushed the doors out of the way. Upon entrance, the smell of ice cream, milkshake, french fries and sizzling meat filled his nostrils and brought a brighter smile to his face. It was built like a 70's restaurant, namely Johnny Rocket's, on the inside. It added to it's authenticity, but it wasn't as though Roulin cared about the nuances. Stopping in an aisle, he said to Aimee in a half-whisper, "Pick a seat. Or a booth. Whatever you want to call them. And make sure it has the spinny chairs. I like the spinny chairs."

Aimee seemed to giggle a little at Roulin's spinny chair obsession, looking at a seat that was perfect for them. "Over there." She walked to a table and sat down, almost falling out of the seat from it spinning while she sat down. "Woah. Heh, forgot they did that. I know you probably wanna buy yourself something but I want to pay for you. It's for actually agreeing to come spend time with me today. So order anything and everything you like. I kinda want a milkshake though." The French accented red head seemed to look at the other tables, her eyes going blank until a server came up to the table. "I would like a chocolate milkshake please." She watched as the waitress took Roulin's order, smiling at the boy as he ordered. The lady soon left to go place their order with the cooks and that was perfect for Aimee to ask some personal questions.

"Roulin, I know this is random but how is you family like now? I mean do you have both parents or just one. What about your brother? I am curious as to how you keep up with him." Aimee's questions were one right after another. This girl grew up with no boundaries, an in-your-face attitude and it never seemed to bother anyone because of how kind she was. "I am just curious is all. I mean to me, you are one of the most important people in my life now. Plus I know we will have a group project soon in history and I want you to be my partner for everything." She drug out the word 'everything' to accent how serious she was about keeping him around.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 14, 2012 10:55 pm

Roulin took his seat and twirled to his heart's content while listening to Aimee's voice which faded in and out with each rotation. He held back a laugh when he caught her almost falling but stopped himself instead and sat at the table staring at her with a quivering smirk. "The sockets and swivels are always kept greased, so they slip pretty easy. Makes it more fun though!" The amethyst eyed child noticed that Aimee appeared to have blanked out after agreeing to pay for whatever he may have ordered. He wasn't going to ask for much as he'd promised and when the server came, he retained his enthusiasm. "I'll just have a vanilla milkshake...annnd a slice of apple pie. With vanilla ice cream on top." Looking down from the man as he walked away, Roulin's lips curled shyly and his cheeks reddened as he shrugged apologetically.

As he waited, kicking his feet that were only inches from the floor, he gave thought to her question. Looking around for a moment, he replied giving a sigh before, "I have both my mother and my father. My father is always out and my mother is sick. My brother is older and he works for the family, but he's...just a kid like I am. It's not much he can do." Kicking his feet slowly now he rested his head on the table, his emotions dwindling to mush now. "It's fine. I get that question alot. I get picked on for it as well...and yeah, I'll help you. Science and History are the only things I'm good at in school. That and fighting."

Aimee soon felt bad for her new best friend, knowing it was hard for a family to weigh everything down on a kid, especially around their age or even just a little older. The young girl stuck her hand out slowly, hovering it over Roulin's head as she bit her lip, deciding on what to say. Soon she decided, running her fingers through a bit of Roulin's raven hair as a gesture of affection, trying to make him not so sad. "I know how you feel. Except my parents both worked all the time. They never showed me any effection, just my little sister when they first got her. Then after that I was her mother. I took care of her. You know, even though I personally don't know him, I say he has done a fine job caring for your family. He has the best little brother anyone can ask for." She smiled kindly and retracted her hand, putting it under the table and in her lap.

This cheering up thing wasn't new to this girl, especially since she did it for herself since her family was cut out of her life. Aimee seemed to figgit in her seat, thinking. She wanted so bad as to take him in, to be his family and to stay by his side so if he ever needed someone, he would have her. "Look, Rou. I... I want you to know that to me, you are my family. You are like the brother I never had. You are one of the most caring people I have met so far in my short life. Still, I always wanna be your shoulder. You will always be my best friend, not matter what happens in your life or mine. I wont judge you for what your family is or how bad you are off. I only care about personalities. Truthfully you already won me over by showing you weren't interested in what I have money wise. Within a couple of days of being here I don't want to ever leave. I want to thank you for that."
