Gallus shook his head slightly in slight disagreement. "I think you're being a bit critical of yourself." He said plainly. "To say you looked like a wreck then and look like one now would be a complete and utter injustice."
Gallus opened one of the menus and laid it on the table. He hasn't been here often, but he can always choose something when the waiter returns. Right now he was still trying to focus.
"And thank you very much, you performed very well yourself. But please, call me Gallus. I don't think i've gone by Mr. Whiterunner in a while." He said chuckling. "But you also have me at a disadvantage. I only know of your incredible talent, but I don't even know you name."
The waiter came back soon enough, asking what sort of drinks they would both like to have. "Coffee, black please."

Adelina laughed a little, blushing the color of a rose dipped in cream. "Thank you. You truly are just as quick with flattery as you are with your magic tricks." Leaning on one hand, she gazed at him, her eyes focused on him, but they were seeing more than met the eye. She was trying to figure out his motives, his distinct accent, and even the way that he held himself was something to behold. By the looks of it, he has good posture, much better than a commoner's. She noted before smiling and sitting back, automatically sitting up straight with her shoulders back, like a proper young lady of her status would. "I am Adelina, but since you seem to be on friendlier terms, I would like it if you call me Adel."
Looking up at the waiter, she ordered a cup of tea. When the waiter had left, she asked, "A man of your talent could have made it in London, so why are you here?"

"Adelina, Adel, both are wonderful names." He exclaimed, with a cheek wink. He clapped his hands quickly, and out appeared a dove that flew away as his hands separated. Patrons of the cafe were quite amazed, many oohhs and aaahhs were heard within the small establishment. Some of them even started clapping, thanking him for the small display of magic.
Gallus looked around the room with a booming smile before looking back at Adel, his smile still apparent. "That is why I am here." he said frankly. "Look at these people: these people are innocent, untainted by the London Life, fun-loving, and good hearted individuals." Gallus leaned back in his chair a little bit, trying to hide some of his posture. He noticed Adel fixed hers: he was hoping that she wasn't doing that because of him. "That is how this whole town is, just like the people in here."
He then attempted to turn the question bak around at Adel. "Besides, musicians of your quality are in higher demand in the London theaters. You would make a fortune living there. I could ask you the same question myself."
A little girl came up to the table quickly. "Hello Gallus, it's me! Wendy! Remember?" Gallus chuckled and ruffled the child's hair. "Of course I do! Good to see you my dear. Be sure to give your parents my best. Also..." He reached behind the girl's ear and had two pounds in his hand. "buy yourself some ice cream, you certainly deserve some young lady." The girl gave Gallus the innocent smile only a child can give, snatching the coins and running towards the front counter.

Adel watched the display and was just as dazzled by the trick as the others were. Of course, she knew that it was just a trick, but never once could she figure out how he did it, and the magic would be taken away if she got an answer. She'd rather not know, so as to make it appear to be true magic. She looked around the room when he said that the people here in this city were fun-loving and kind. It was true; she'd gotten lost aorund the city many a time and someone had always been willing to show her the way to a certain place before kindly leaving back to their job. "It is true... they really are a wonderful people." She couldn't help but smile sadly, her mind shifting through several of her old memories of her old life as a duchess. "They live such simple and fulfilling lives. More interesting than mine, to say the least."
Then he mentioned the demand of musicians in London and she couldn't help but chuckle a little, "I guess I can say the same as you. I never dreamed of living in a large city." Leaning in and whispering as if she were sharing a secret, "To tell the gospel truth, I can barelybaerly get my way from the opera house to my apartment without taking a wrong turn here and there. I'm terrible with directions."
Just then there was a little girl who obviously knew Gallus and it startled her how the little one had waltzed right on over to speak with him. Watching as she left to buy a treat, she looked back at Gallus, "So you really are a lady's man. You truly are the 'Prince of Thieves' as many a dancer or acrobat girl in our line of business has said you are."

Gallus chuckled a bit when he saw the girl delightfully eating what he presumed was chocolate ice cream: her absolute favorite. "These people lead as honest a life as creatures like human can live." He said softly, almost spacing out into a void instead of focusing on the girl. He gave a small wave as the girl waved back at him, her cheeks spotted with chocolate stains, but with a smile that forced Gallus to give her a small smile back. "But as far as interesting lives go, I would say that we can have some pretty interesting lives as well." He said, focusing his eyes onto hers. "If you don't think your life is interesting, you must be very hard to entertain yourself."
He chuckled as he continued his point: "I mean, look at you! Beautiful young lady, has what is most definitely the purest voice in town, performs in front of nearly half the town all at one time..." He nodded as he continued to talk. "If you ask me, I would say you lead a pretty fruitful life."
He grabbed his coffee and took a sip, setting it back down on the table afterwards
"It is hard to make your way around those London streets if you don't know what you're doing." He said, revealing that he has indeed actually been there before. In his head, he cursed himself for actually telling her that part. Maybe he'll be able to play it off.
"But as to that 'lady's man' comment, you should of seen the way these men have been looking at you. Your siren-like voice just personifies your beauty. If i'm a prince of thieves, you must be a princess of purity!"

Adel raised an eyebrow, "Perhaps I could, but I think I'll stay here as long as they need my voice." He certainly was a flatterer, since she didn't have the slightest idea that she was pretty. She caught the dropped hint that he had been to London, but she simply assumed that it was for job purposes or searching for housing if he had originally wanted to go to London to get famous. Then again, she didn't want to become too famous, otherwise she would be the talk of England and she would be exposed as the duchess that she truly was. Taking a sip from her tea, she said quietly, "If I'm a siren, then I hope I don't bring in the wrong sort of men. Even a city like this has its... bad people." Her eyes held the emotion of fear that she didn't show in her voice or upon her lovely face. She could've used the example of what had happened to her earlier, with the man that had been about to forcefully thrust his 'help' upon her.
"As I was walking out of the opera house I overheard a conversation about the plans of the managers." She said in hopes of intriguing his interest and attention. "They are currently writing a musical about a singer and a royal vizier. It's supposed to be an Arabian tale, so it can include the dancers and acrobats."

"You bring in every sort of man, probably more of us wrong sort than the good!" he said shrugging. "That is the gift and curse of your beauty: you will probably always be dealing with ruffians such as us. But when you find your prince charming my lady, I swear he shall be worth all those other encounters!"
He then chuckled a bit and leaned on his elbows, talking in a softer tone. "But until your prince charming arrives, I suppose the prince of thieves will have to steal you away from the rest of the foul ilk." he said, giving her a reassuring wink. "So if you're ever troubled, you know who to call."
He snatched a toothpick from one of his inside shirt pockets, starting to use it as he was responding to Adel: "Is that what they were planning to do? I saw them talking, but I didn't hear about what. Have you been approached yet about performing in it? You should be the first candidate they ask"
As he took another sip of his coffee, his sleeve rolled back a little bit, revealing the beginning of a very bad burn. When he put his hand down again, he subtly rolled his sleeve back down

Adel laughed as he listed himself under the 'ruffian' catagory of men. Actually, he seemed to be quite the opposite. Rather gentlemanly if you were to ask her, but she wouldn't say anything of the sort. She was sure that commoners didn't call each other 'gentlemen' or 'ladies' when they first met. But he had called her a lady. If only I had been as much of one as you're making me out to be... I would be married to a stuck up lord right now if I wasn't living out my dreams. "Well, I'm honored to have someone as tempting as yourself to call upon." She replied with a smile that would have made many hearts of men flutter.
"I hope so." She said when he mentioned the tidbit about her being the first they would ask to play for the role of the singer. "I'm sure they will audition, just so other girls can have a grab at the--what happened? Did you get burned?" She leaned forward, gently rolling back the sleeve. Frowning a little, she said, "When did you get this?"
