Singer's voice... sometimes the lyrics. I like lots of noisy background instruments or folk/celtic influences.

Mostly, the songs on my mp3 player tell stories, like this. I don't have a lot of songs about "love" and such that I listen to.

They say songs dealing with the concept of "love" in some form or another -- via break ups or in love or whatever -- make up over 75% of all music... Someday, I really should affirm these statistics.

The song lyrics, and the instruments. Mostly the lyrics. I don't care much about the singer's voice. If it's absolutely TERRIBLE, then I won't really listen. I know this sounds odd, but I don't really like girl's voices (singing wise) I prefer boys' voices
