Wire_Colossus You seem somewhat excited.... and I saw pictures of manhattan streets being flooded...which state are you in? And sorry for asking, just getting kind of worried. Connecticut. I even marked the exact location on the first map. 3nodding Yeah, plenty of flooding here. I live atop one of the highest points in my town though, so not so much for me.

Wow. You live in the same state both of my parents are from, though I've never been there that I know of.

Apparently i'm far enough from the coast that i didn't get jack. Heavy rain and wind last night, the power flickered a bunch, but this morning nothing but a knocked over flower pot to speak of.
i'll have to remember that i'm too far from the coast to care about this nonsense in the future.

As of 10 pm EST last night, 8 hours after Irene had left my state, I no longer have power.
stare
So my hurricane-related leave of absense is still in affect, it just started a day late.

I didn't go to my Monday night game last night, because they had no water (and presumably, no power). Came home to find out one of my brothers had almost cut through my father's hand with a chainsaw.
There's really nothing more I can add at this point that can top that. *submits post*

Cutting up thick branches for ease of transport, I think.
It wasn't even for ourselves, it was for a neighbor.
