Yeah we all have that problem. Like I will get 20+ players yet not a single bump from any of them. Granted now me personally if I play a tank that wasn't worth my time meaning like I got 100 gold from it then I don't really wanna bump something like that because neither me or the tank owner is making anything worth anyone's time. Now other tanks I always try to bump either before I play or after I play.

I'm moving this to the fish talk subforum (or whatever it's called). You can find guides on fish there too, if you don't get your questions answered by us.

azndreams Inbetween Agony and Bliss Well it all depends on so many factors when it comes to tanks. Like are you just for pure profit and then do you want that profit in a short amount of time and do you want to go with just something you like. Are you getting the fish with GC or buying from the MP or what. So many factors. High Trigger fish though are Stone Coatls, Outlaw Pups, Lawnsharks, Airsharks, Dolphins (both of them), Grunny Subs (both of them). I know there are more, but I forget off hand. Then another factor is look at how long each live. Mermaids for example live 10months and that's the longest lifespan for all the fish. So over the course of there life they could possibly make more if you had a FULL tank play each time. While Dolphins are 4months and second longest life fish. Irrawwady Dolphins only live a month. (funny your tank started glowing right when I read this) Thank you for all the information, I think I have decided to go for a half Mermaid half (insert cheap high trigger fish lol).I can get my hands on some GC so this should not be too difficult....

Whether the tank is worth it or not. If I see a bump thread, I'm bumping. Mostly because I would want other's to do the same. But not everyone has that common courtesy. This is the reason why I didn't want to make another tank. But I did. It seems the only way people can get a return on their tank is if they spend the entire day bumping their on tank.

Yeah it's not like how it used to be with tank owners. Now we have to do alot of bumping to get it noticed and I keep hearing from a few mods in the Aquarium subforum that they have to do very minimal bumping and get full tank plays. I call bullshit on that, but whatever.

Inbetween Agony and Bliss Yeah a nice mix is always good. I would have all mermaids, but NOO someone had to be all awesome and such and get me some lovely dolphins. Don't worry she's the sweetest girl.

Yea I hear a lot of that, one could chalk it up to tank advertising... But how many times does a person have to advertise before they just give up? So far I've been invited to 3 freaking aquarium threads. And ever since the BG nerf there seems to be a lot less BG threads around...Or maybe people are just not bumping them enough. The entire thing is disheartening. Why spend all that gold or GC for that matter and not get even half the return? Tanks don't just fill themselves up magically.

Exactly. Even if we do all the work to bump the thread, advertise it and get put in BG threads and guilds we still can go un-noticed by people just passing by and wanting to play and such. Sometimes it's just not worth it to own a tank I think sometimes.

After reading everything that we've wrote...I've realized something. ...We're a real depressing bunch aren't we? If anyone were to happen on the second page they would totally rethink making a tank.

Oh I'm not trying to discourage anyone from making a tank. Ha ha. We are just talking about the frustrations we encounter with owning a tank and how we don't have it "easy" per se like the other owners.

...End of Transmission ████████████████ I see your point, but a tank is a commitment. You cant just expect to have the gold roll in. You have to bump your own thread and make sure your fish get the attention they deserve. Gaia made it easier on us by giving us the notifications of when our tanks will glow, instead of sitting around all day just be sure to log on when you KNOW your tank will glow.

I already said I bump my own thread when I'm on. I have a second account in which I log on and bump from both names. However, real life is not always going to be so kind as to allow me to bump when my tank glows. All I'm talking about is I could get up to 26 players and out of those 26 maybe up to 3 or 7 is going to bump my thread. I have to rely on friends who are online to help me bump the thread. All I'm saying is it gets annoying bumping you thread everyday, and out of all those players only 3 or 7 players are going to bump? Am I now allowed to be annoyed by that?

No disrespect meant, but I would also like to see where I even implied that I expect easy gold. And where did you get the impression I sit around all day? The only time I'm not on gaia is when I'm sleeping. It's funny how the both of us were having a discussion and you zero in on me as being the one not working hard to make my tank profitable.

I was only trying to say that it takes work to fill a game and it can get frustrating, but there really isn't much you can do about the lack of bumpers. A tank owner must be responsible for their tank, that might include hiring tank stalkers, or running a contest in their glow thread. Many owners offer tips to bumpers, I myself am giving away a dolphin via random number generator to one bumper when my fish die. My post was more of a general statement, I never intended to zero in on anyone. I am just a little irritated at the amount of new tank owners complaining about their tanks getting no love, when they don't even bother to bump their own threads.

Except I'm not a new tank owner, I already stated in my previous post that I did have a tank, but because of lack of bumpers I decided not to make a new tank. Just because you haven't seen me posting a whole lot in this guild or in any other for that matter, doesn't mean that I'm a new tank owner and doesn't mean I'm not putting in any effort. It's not good to generalize people.
But I do get where you're coming from, complaining happens a lot in the z! forum. It's just not good to generalize people.
