In Veran's capital city, two things run rampant: crime, and resistance groups. The so-called city guards do nothing to stop the criminals that steal from the innocent people of the city. However, when they are targeted by, say, a thief, for example, they go all, "Oh, no! Crime! We must stop him!"
Which was what they did to Sothe. Sothe, grandson of Cyril and true heir, is forced to live by thievery. He stole from these guards and bought what he needed. Not quite a Robin Hood, nor a Prince Charming, but, being the only one with a legitimate claim to the throne, Sothe had to do what he could to survive. Who knows? Maybe he'll become a key player in the resistance.
Oh? What's that? Does he have proof of his claim? Of course he does! Only a fool claims to be a prince without proof, even if he truly was! ...On second thought, anyone who claims to be a prince while Annexus rules was a fool, anyway. At least, as long as he has no protection. Which was why Sothe hasn't officially claimed to be the prince. A lowly thief has no form of protection except his own knives and daggers, and something told Sothe that a single boy with knives couldn't protect himself from Annexus.
At that moment, Sothe was sitting in the abandoned building he used as his home(not quite a palace, but it served its purpose). In his hands was his grandfather's dagger, the sole evidence that some of the royal family escaped.
Standing, he thought to himself, I get the feeling this won't be a normal day.

The Liberation Army, location unknown, is the largest resistance group in the country. The group is lead by an Eternal Eyes name Hitomi, and was in almost constant motion. If anything had been learned from the failed attempts, it was that staying in one place for too long held a larger chance of being caught than moving around did. That, and moving around helped them gather more members.
Most people believe that Hitomi is a fully grown, Eternal Eyes adult. The truth? She was a sixteen year old girl. Not quite the kind of person people would think to command an Army. However, despite her age, people trust her. Her eyes are red, so they know she can be trusted.
Now, the Liberation Army is not quite an...army. They're only an army in name. In fact, they don't even have a hundred members. DEFINITELY not up to the task of taking down Annexus. Not yet, anyway. Hitomi wants to unite all the resistance groups to form an army, but the rest are hesitant. What the Liberation Army needs is something to rally the groups to fight. Another reason they kept moving.
After the queen and prince were discovered six years ago, the same question kept running through her head. Did the prince have any children? If he did, and if they could find the missing heir, then, perhaps, that would be enough to drive the people to fight.
At the moment, the Liberation was only a short distance from the capital. While the rest of the army all doubted the heir would hang around the base of his family's murderer, Hitomi knew that the best hiding places for an heir is the place the enemy least suspects. Which would be the capital. But did the queen have that same train of thought?
Either way, Hitomi now found herself in the town surrounding the castle, along with one other member, an Eternal Eyes named Scott. Their eyes were disguised by the illusions Scott had in place. Hitomi's eyes appeared blue, while Scott's eyes appeared brown. The two were looking for any kind of clue that an heir existed.
((Scott isn't an important character, BTW. Just needed a way for her eyes to be concealed.
Erm...I'll reply with my army people later. This post is long enough as it is.))

•Penelope•
Penelope didn't like the city. It was crowded and dangerous, with too many prying eyes. The air was thick and unpleasant. She wanted to be back in the forest and breath the clear air. However, there was business to be done. She had to sell her latest catch in order to earn money for supplies. Her cloak was ragged with age and Aedan's boots were sporting new holes that let rainwater in by the bucketful.
When she arrived at the furriers she wrinkled her nose and sneered at the sign in disgust. She hated hunting for this brute of a man, but it was this or go without things they desperately needed. Her feelings had to be put aside. After all, she had her brother to care for.
"All right," she sighed and put her latest catch out on the counter. "Pay up."
The furrier frowned at the rabbits on his table. "I wanted the little ones," he snorted and pushed the poor creatures carelessly aside.
Her eye twitched in irritation. They'd been over this a dozen times before. Why must he make things difficult?
"I don't trap the babies or mothers," she replied bluntly and leveled a fierce glare at him. "You know this. Now pay up."
Was this going to take all day? It was the same old game as before. Pretend you don't want it, then talk down the price. Barter, barter, barter. This whole business was sickening enough as it was, she didn't want to keep talking about it. Whats more, her brother was waiting for her all alone.... the man should hurry up!
•Aedan•
In a secluded street corner, a twelve year old boy with scraggly red hair sat blindfolded and quietly observed the cities pace. The young eternal eyes, Aedan, yawned with boredom and stretched his legs. Penelope had left him there as he hated going to the furriers. The place stank, and he found the business nauseating. However, he now felt all this waiting was going to kill him!
To amuse himself, he probed gently into the minds of one or two passers by. His telepathy skills were far from extraordinary, but it was enough to see the most urgent thoughts in a persons mind. What he saw in the nearby citizens alarmed him. Not one, but TWO members of Annexus' army were prowling around the city.
"C'mon, Penny! We need to goooo!"
Aedan pulled himself further under the shadow of the building and hunched his shoulders. Just like his sister had told him, he was doing his best to look like just an ordinary blind beggar. In a bustling city like this, who would possibly notice him or pay him heed?
((I'll introduce Elisabeth next time. >w>))

Arisu stood by the window in her room, having been up for hours. She was facing the window, as if she were staring out it, but everyone in the castle knew she wasn't. She was blind. She had been for years. She has been blind since she came to the castle, seven years ago. No one knows what happened for her to go blind, and Arisu won't tell anyone, not even Annexus.
Annexus...Yes...The king of Veran...The one Arisu serves without question, even though her eyes are red. She willingly serves the one man she was destined to kill. She goes against the will of the gods who created her. Any why? Well, one reason is the same reason she is blind. Which, as I've said already, she won't tell.
The other reason she serves Annexus is because she loves him. She loved the man she was meant to kill. She had turned her back on her kind. She was in love with her kind's enemy.

Mamoru was scanning one of the many bookshelves in the castle libraries. He had often come to the library as a child when he wasn't busy, and that habit had stuck with him as a young adult. I say "young adult" because he's only eighteen years old. And the more surprising information? He's Annexus' top tactician. In order to have that rank and that age, you'd have to be a genius.
Mamoru was a genius. Before he had been eleven, he had mastered many skills, including the complex math students many children older than he was struggled with. This impressed Annexus, and Mamoru was allowed to be in the library at all times, as long as another, loyal man was with him. However, that was as a child. Now he had unlimited access.
~~~~~~~~~~
Nagi lay in his big bed in the castle, still asleep. Nagi was the only son of Annexus that was known to the public, although he knew he had a brother. But why would Annexus keep one son a secret and one not? The answer is simple. Nagi is adopted.
Nagi is actually the son of loyal friends and allies of Annexus. However, when his parents discovered Nagi's powers, they feared that his brown eyes would turn red and that they would be accused of hiding an Eternal Eyes. Because of this fear, they told Annexus about Nagi and left the country. Annexus took a liking to the boy(or maybe saw some potential in him) and adopted him. Nagi grew up a prince, but he knows the truth behind his adoption. But he doesn't care. The past is past, right? So Nagi doesn't let it bother him.
Let's get back to the present, shall we? Nagi was oversleeping again. He's had a tendency to oversleep recently.
Sothe silently slipped out the door of his home. As a thief, you need to be extra careful when leaving any building. You never know when a city guard could ambush you. Which, as anyone knows, would be bad. It would either result in capture or execution. Neither of which sounded good to Sothe.
After Sothe was satisfied that there was no one laying in wait for him, he started to make his way down the alley the entrance of the house was in. However, as he neared the end, he caught a brief glimpse of an army uniform. He pushed himself against the wall and into the shadows, and sidled down the wall as far as he dared. At the end, he saw General Lucas talking to Annexus' executioner.
What are they doing here? he thought, then nearly kicked himself as the answer struck him, clear as day. They must be looking for Eternal Eyes.
╔═════════════════╗ ☁xxxxxxѴancexxϚolisxxxxxx☁ ╚═════════════════╝ 'The tongue is like a sharp knife...'
Vance walked around the town, looking for someone. Hitomi had left the hideout early in the morning, in order to search for clues of an heir. As one of the Eternal Eyes, wandering around town was dangerous, especially if someone noticed his eyes. Although for this occasion, he work dark brown eye contacts. While looking around the town for Hitomi, he noticed that the people in the market were moving around awkwardly, as if there was something that they couldn't touch.
He took a quick glance over the heads of a few people, and saw them, members of Annexus' army. They were infamous for the tasks they carried out, mainly hunting Eternal Eyes. In order to blend in with the crowd, Vance started checking out the wares of a nearby shop, while listening into the conversation the army members were having. There was always the possibility of learning important information from their conversation.
'But it kills without drawing blood.'
Hitomi and her companion entered the marketplace to see the place hopping, despite the early hour. Actually...It was literally hopping. Everyone in it seemed quite jumpy. Why? What's going on? she thought. Then she got her answer. There were people from the army there, searching for Eternal Eyes. And rather high ranking officials, by the look of it.
"Lady Hitomi, we should be careful," Scott said. Despite his illusions, anyone could tell they weren't ordinary people.
"Right." It was then that she saw Vance. "Oh? What is Vance doing here?" Walking over, she pretended to scan the wares from the same shop, pretending that she didn't know him. Then she asked him, in a hushed voice, "What are you doing here?"
