Its the start of summer,
no more school.
I can sleep all day
play all night.
There are no more rules.
Its the beginning of my life as a high schooler.
I gotta do it right.
Keep it together
Laugh it all off.
Cause imma be the light.
God gives us summer
So we can relax.
Chill with some friends
and hang with the fam
We don't have to carry around those backpacks razz
So enjoy this summer
Show no fear
Keep it real
And try new things.
Cause we you don't always have to let the storm clouds clear.

((Its not exactly about summer...but....its about Arizona in the summer when the cactus's bloom, and basically of dying of thirst out there. And I'm posting here to write it out...its came on a whim when I heard about this.))
Land of where the tall kings lie
Wearing their summer crowns of thorns.
Parched skin burning, and cracking,
the world aching for a single drop.
Clouds rolling over into the shade of the kings.
Those ancient kings standing tall,
stretching for those few vacant drops.
Mothers tears poor from the sky,
Crying for the lost life.
Bleached ruins of that once was,
Nothing more then clay.
Lost forever and never found,
among those summer crowns.

Ladies-Is-Pimps-too13 Wait, I'm confused is the first prize winner going to get 200k or 500k? First prize is 200k, but there is a total of 500k. This means that all the prizes offered add up to 500k. Its like the "Million Dollar Diamond Mine" scratch lotto. You can't actually get 1 million from winning =P

What is your opinion on the length of poems?
Personally, I perfer short. (though very few pull off long).
AND I thought it ment that poems can not ONLY be posted here. You can post it as long as you send to the mule. The ones sent to the mule will be the only ones in the contest.

Luzer_Jay What is your opinion on the length of poems? Personally, I perfer short. (though very few pull off long). AND I thought it ment that poems can not ONLY be posted here. You can post it as long as you send to the mule. The ones sent to the mule will be the only ones in the contest.
But anywhoo, to stay on the safe side, I will wait and see if any official answer to this confusion arises.

I kinda hate when I send the announcement and mention for everyone to read the rules, they never do....sometimes I don't want to send them because not everyone pays attention and it gets annoying :/

Well, I sent my two poems. First time participating in any sort of contest, so I have my fingers crossed.
Btw, moderators and elder members, awesome guild. Joined yesterday and already love it.
