Your anatomy really isn't on the same level as your coloring technique. It's been said already, but beautiful coloring and rendering can't cover up anatomical mistake. :c which detracts from the worth for me.

Stop focusing so much on rendering, and really lay out the base of the figure before you get to into it. It's much harder to fix mistakes when you've begun to color.

I used to make aviart like that too digital and traditional,. ive made a thread and all, but no one wanted to buy and yours are even better :C those realistic potraits arent that popular I supose. I showed an art requester my portraits once, and he said that he wanted it more anime/manga'ish Dx well frick. I guess people dont like it realistic.

I think the biggest problem that I'm seeing is just your anatomy. It's really not bad at all, it's just not always consistent. The main problem area that I'm seeing right now is just the shoulders. And again, I think it's just that it's not consistent, because some of your samples were just fine or really close.

Another thing that I noticed, and it was mostly on your first sample is that your coloring isn't consistent through out the whole piece. Your coloring is very good by the way! 3nodding I just wonder if you may have rushed through somethings. Like on your first sample the hair doesn't match the detail of the rest of the piece so that can be very distracting and dissatisfying to potential buyers. You are very good at faces and so the extra detail you put into those has to be complemented by the hair that's surrounding it. And everything else too, but especially the hair because it's right close and easy to compare. 3nodding

They really are very nice though. That's interesting that they sold so well before and not now. The only thing I can guess is that in your time off, you practiced somethings a lot just for fun and got a lot better at them. I imagine that you probably really enjoy painting the face so you got extra good at it. Now you've come back and perhaps the problem now is just that your faces are so good now that they don't match the rest.

I would start improving on your anatomy first by just doing sketches over and over of different poses to get the basics down. Don't worry about details too much, you're already good at that. 3nodding And I wouldn't worry too much about the hair either. It looks to me like you've got that down, you just have to spend the time on it and not rush to finish it.

Over all, very nice work. heart
