Evangeline woke up when the bright sun rose and shone down to her small windows, scrunching up her nose. Giving a slight stretch she blinked her crystal blue eyes a few time to get the eyes to work, and the first thing she saw was her flowers. Her only friend she can say. The blue rosebush was her favorite. Angie, kneel on the bed she grabbed the water cattle and started to sprinkle around it.

"Angie! Come down here! You have to get ready for your reaping day" her mother called from the kitchen. A thought hit her head, the reaping day. Her first reaping day. Her heart started to pound hard and her head felt dizzy. Turning toward her flowers she whispered. 'It's today..I might never see you again..' with that, she stumbled on to her feet, and walked toward the kitchen for her breakfast.

The heavy scent of meat soup was the first thing she noticed when she came into the doorway. Smiling, she hopped onto her chair and started to eat her meal. Her eyes traced along the table line, until she met her brother's gaze. William or Will Fairchild. it didn't matter. His blue eyes, the exact same as her own, starred at her with blank expression. What's wrong? She wanted to ask but she gulped the question along with her soup.

After a while, her mother was doing her hair. Her pale blond-grey hair was soft and curled carefully. She waited while her mother started to make her pretty. Most of the time, her hair would be freely let out and wild, but in the mirror she looked cam and different with a blue ribbon to match her eyes, on her head, her mother called out done. When she hopped down the wooden chair her white and blue dress, that her mother said she made it, was laid out neatly. Taking a big breath she took the dress and started to get it on.

The reaping place was crowded with people and it was loud with some crying. Because of worry or hope. Angie's grip on her brother's hand was tight as he lead her through the crowd. On the way, Will stopped her and crouched so their height would be the same.

"Listen. In the reaping, act calm and don't get swallowed by the crowd. You'll be safe.I'll protect you..." he said with pain in his voice and he seemed to be far away even if he was this close, as he started to stammer out his words. Than Will, hugged me tightly, and gave me a light kiss on the forhead. Angie's blue eyes looked up at his eyes, nodding and started to walk again along the way.

Finally as soon as Angie settled down on the row of 12 year olds, the announcer of District 3 this year, Kitty Coetzee grabbed the mic and started to speak in high tone. The way Capitol citizens speak. rolling her eyes, she waited for the name calling to start

"ladies and gentleman. Let us now get ready for the biggest parts!" she said and started to walk to the bowl of names. Her hands went circling the glass pot and finally picked the female tribute. Angie's eyes narrowed as if she can see the word on it. Kitty's face widened and her words rang out.

"The female tribute of district Three will be...Evangeline Fairchild!"

Name: Kella (Kell) Connery
Age: 17
District: 10
Bio: Go to Chaacter Profiles

The sound of my sister tossing and turning in her bed woke me from my sleep. I turned over on my side and saw her tangled up in her sheets, a pained look on her face. She was having a nightmare as well. Without warining, her eyes sprang open and she let out a gasp. Her green eyes met mine.
"Kell." she whispered.
I rose from my bed and joined her. I wrapped my arms around her shaking body as a way to comfort her. We lay there in silence for a while until my sister finally finds the courage to voice her fear.
"What if I am picked?"
"It's all right, Rosaleen." I whispered, stroking her hair. "You won't be. There are thousands of children in this district and your name is only in there once. Everything will be fine."
The words I spoke were similar to the ones my parents had used on my first Reaping Day. They had given me a small sense of security and I could only hope they did the same for Rosaleen. She did seem to calm down a bit after hearing me say this. She let out a deep breathe and looked up at me.
"Why aren't you scared? You have a greater chance of being picked."
She was right of course. My name was in there much more than once, so there was a higher chance that I would be picked. Why wasn't I scared? Truth be told, I was terrified, but I had learned how to keep my feelings hidden from others. This is what I told my sister.
"Oh, I see." she said and we entered another period of silence.
It was broken by my mother calling us to get out of bed to grab some breakfast. Rosaleen and I walked into the kitchen together. Our five-year-old sister, Teagan, was already sitting at the table, chewing on a small slice of bread, her little legs swinging around. Father was sitting at the table as well. He looked at us as we walked in and said, "Good morning girls."
"Morning, Father." Rosaleen and I said simultaneously.
We sat at the table and Mother handed us each a slice of bread with cheese spread over it. For the next few minutes, the only sound was that of chewing and swallowing. Once the bread was gone, we all went into our rooms to prepare for the Reapings. Half an hour later, my family was out in the street walking to the center of the district with many other families. Rosaleen and I were clad in our best with our hair done up in a neat bun, something my mother had learned from her own mother. When it was time for us to seperate and join the crowd of children from the age of 12 to 18, there were quick good bye kisses and good luck hugs. I held on tightly to Rosaleens hand, refusing to let go until we were forced to join our age group.
I took a quick look through the crowd of boys and caught the eye of my best friend, Archer. He looked so handsome dressed in his finest. He flashed me a sad smile which I returned before directing my attention back to the stage. The announcer for District 10 was making her was making her way to the microphone.
"Good morning ladies and gentlmen." she said with a smile, showing off her unnaturally white teeth. "It is time to once again to choose the tributes that will be representing District 10 in the Hunger Games. Here it goes!"
She reached her hand into the bowl that held the names of possible female tributes. I could not help thinking that one of them said my sister's name. I quickly prayed that it would not be the one pulled from the bowl.
"And the female tribute for District 10 is...."
The announcer pulled out a slip of paper from the bowl, unfolded it, and read the name.
"Kella Connery!"

Can i be the girl tribute from District 4? If so here's the bio
Name: Cassia Meyers
Age:14
Description: Choppy blonde hair, green eyes and tall
Bio:Cassia hasn't had as easy a life as most people in her district would think. She's the daughter of a wealthy fisherman who owns 4 of the best fishing boats in Panem. But they're only like this because of her. She gets up early every day and joins her father's crew to man the ships and lead them to the best fishing spots that only she knows about. It's hard becuz the guys on the ship do little to care for the boats and make Cassia do the work becuz they know her dad doesn't care. But, despite having to hand scrub 4 large boats daily, she keeps a good attitude and has learned to be a survivalist. She has 5 siblings and is the third oldest besides her two bros Wallace and Harley (yes like the bike) who have already left home

((So... when do we start role playing?))
PostPosted: Mon Mar 05, 2012 6:45 pm

Name: Rielie Analex
Gender: Female
Age: 16
District: 8
Likes: Running, games, hunting, nature
Dislikes: Rude people, Peacekeepers, the Capitol.
Personality: Slight introvert, carefree but laid back, cheerful front
Bio: (See character profiles) Her character is made for District 11, but since there is no room in this Hunger Games, I'll put her in 8.

Rielie woke up early. Reaping Day. She had barely slept all night worrying, not about herself, but her 12 year old sister, Ilise. She shook Ilise awake and swatted her playfully when she pulled the covers over her head. "Might as well hurry up and go to the Reaping so it will be over with, little one," Rielie said, before she walked into the tiny room you could barely call a kitchen, and kissed her father on the cheek. She knew he was the most worried of all. He already had lost his wife- she was afraid he would lose himself completely if she or Ilise was chosen...
Rielie and her family walked through the crowded streets to where the Reaping would take place. She hugged her father, grabbed her sister's hand, and ducked through the crowds of people to where the kids had to be separated.
Rielie went over by the other 16 year olds after making sure Ilise was ok and in the right age group. They all looked at each other and nodded silently, except for Rielie's best friend Lira, who gave Rielie a tight smile. Rielie was so worried about her sister, she didn't hear anything, and it seemed almost like a dream when she watched the hand pull out a slip from the Reaping bowl, and hear a voice boom "Rielie Analex." Almost in a daze, Rielie walked up to the announcer and shook her hand. Looking out at the people from her District, her friends, her family, the old woman she would always buy rolls from, Rielie realized how much everyone meant to her. And how she would not die in vain. She could do this. She was ready.

Name:Asebi Juniper
Gender:Female
Age:16
District: 1
Likes: Fresh air, the woods, her thoughts, little animals, District 1, making little trinkets.
Dislikes: The Capitol, very few Peacekeepers, items not selling, the Hunger Games.
Bio: ((See cahracter profiles))
Personality: Shy with strangers, quiet, clumsy when embarassed, clumsy around people she likes, though, over all, a happy, carefree girl.

It was the reaping day, for all of Panem. All twelve of its lovely districts were going to have two tributes each, resulting in 24 tributes, 12 girls and twelve guys, who would fight to the be named the victor and live in the "Victors Village" Where all the victors of the Hunger Games live. Her district had two, a man of 45 years and a woman of 30 years even. Asebi was awake in bed, staring at the ceiling of her room, which was more of an attic really. She rolled out of her bed and got dressed, leaving her long brown hair to fall over her shoulders. She went to her parents shop, to see them closing it up for the day. She helped them with it, and then they all hurried on their way to where the names would be announced and said good bye to her parents with words, a hug and a kiss. She stood in the section of kids for sixteen year olds. The crowd went silent as a woman from the capitol, wearing a teal wig which faded in some spots to give it life and the most interesting color of clothing for her coat, reach into the bowl and pulled out a name for the girls. "Asebi Juniper" She called out to the crowd. Her mother gave a small shriek and was embraced by her father. Asebi walked up to the announcer and shook her hand, in as much of a daze as anyone would be. She looked out to the crowd; she hardly knew any of them, but she still wished to survive. And would try her best to do so.

((If this roleplay is dead, I could start a new one for the eager roleplayers, with fill in characters, you know people without names, and we could call them district 2 or whatever, or even give them nicknames. What do you say?))

Salena Bertram (District 2, Female Tribute)

Salena jumped out of bed and took deep breaths. "Reaping, huh? Oh well, I'm in the strongest district anyway.." Salena laughed. She was excited for the reaping. Salena was 17, but, her name was in there 40 times do to food. She had to keep putting her name in. Salena got on her mini skirt and stomach shirt, the skirt red and the stomach shirt white. "Doo de doo.." Salena sang as she hurried to her mother. "I'll win, okay?" she promised her mom. Her mother nodded. Salena smiled. "There are probably weaklings out there. I was trained for this. I can use both a knife and a bow! I'll win, alright!" Salena ran into the kitchen, where her mother followed behind her. "Who said you will get picked?" Salena's mother wondered. Salena turned to her mother. "Oh, uh." She thought. "I have my name in there 40 times." she laughed. Salena's mother laughed and looked at Salena in stress. Salena poured her cereal and milk into a bowl. "40 out of thousands." she corrected. Salena sighed. "Shut..Up!" she shouted. Salena was actually..Excited. "Now, mother, stay well!" Salena kissed her mother on the cheek and headed out to the reaping. "Here I go." she said to herself. She ran as fast as lightning, Salena was going to win. She felt it in her heart, and, if she died, her father who died in a train crash would be very sad. Salena would go to heaven. Her father..He's in the underworld. The would never be able to look at each other again. So, Salena hurried to the reaping. As they waited for the names to be called, Salena fixed out her skirt. The name was pulled.."Salena Bertram!" the announcer said. Salena took a deep breath and walked to the stage. Slowly. As hours passed after that, Salena hopped on the train to the capitol. When they arrived, Salena scurried in and got ready for her makeover. Salena sat in a room, her body naked. She had a robe on, thankfully. A female stylist walked in and studied Salena's body. "Cho chop!" the stylist shouted. A bunch of other stylists came out. They gave her a hair crown, which lead to a pony tail at the back of her head. And she had long bangs. Salena looked in the mirror as they finished the hair. Salena smiled. "Ready for facial makeover?" One of the stylists said. Salena nodded. They began putting eye lner, eye shadow, lipstick, and blush on Salena. When she looked in the mirror after that, Salena was amazed. "Yay!" she shouted. And the stylists put her into the carriage for the parade. "I'm ready." she smiled. The stylists nodded and waited for the parade to start.
