Ace's eyes flew over to the door and looked at the Guardian quietly and his eyes became cold, dark, cruel, and full of hate. He didn't understand it at all, but this man made his blood boil even before the words. Just one look made the younger man want to kill this man, and few people ever made him feel like that. His face clenched up into a snarl though when he was done speaking finally and he tightened up completely again as he stood. Yet, he still stood tall like a man of pride and he wasn't going to be taken down at all by it. He glared at the man through the depths of his hood until he left him finally leaving him and Aesa.

He relaxed some and thats when the nerves started kicking in. They weren't nervous or scared ones, just angry and impatient. He started pacing back and forth tense with his arms crossed. His footsteps no longer fell lightly onto the ground more like pounded the marble into submission. When the guards came, he didn't stop, they might as well hadn't been even there. He didn't stop until Aesa said something and he stopped looking at her without hate, but the anger was still there. "Yeah, I know, I don't feel like it," he said with a cold tone looking back at guards. Normally, he would just accept it and deal with it only fighting to keep his things, but this wasn't normal at all nor was he thinking strait.

Aesa stepped forward, untying the sash at her waist. Her eyes were direct when she addressed Ace, making it clear she would not tolerate anything but his complete co-operation in this matter. "You will need to be blindfolded - you have seen too much as it is now." Other than stealing his sight the slip of cloth would not impede him in any other way. Aesa had to rise to the very balls of her feet in order to reach his head and secure the sash, making sure that it was fitted well though not too tight as to casue discomfort. She felt unsettled by his nearness though other than her slightly accelerated breathing and rapid pulse at her neck she did not show it. Thankfully with the blindfold in place he would not be able to witness her unease. It was just that she had never actually laid eyes on a Lowlander - let alone one who she assumed was dangerous for all his casual manner.

Stepping back she motioned for one of the guards to take his arm to lead him forward. When she noticed his grip was was tighter than the situation called for she didn't hesitate to give him a telling look accompanied with a raised eyebrow. Though the guard didn't relinquish his hold, it did loosen. And so they moved forward, Aesa keeping several feet behind in order to react if her prisoner were to try and escape. And she did feel some type of ownership as though she did not want to give him over to the jailers of the lower levels. Which was absurd - he wasn't a pet.

{{Sorry if my spelling is atrochous, I don't have spell check XD}}

Ace sighed irritated at the idea of a blind fold as he could find his way out and back just from counting steps and the feel of the floor. He wasn't an ameture at being caught. He closed his eyes when his eye sight had been taken away leaving him only with touch. He almost pulled back from Aesa though from surprised of feeling her breath on her and his mind just blanked. He completely relaxed.

He stood still quietly not moving until he felt that vice grip on his arm. Immediately out of reflex, he snarled and yanked hard from the force unable to see. Of course the guard tightened more and he was about to reach for his blade, but his grip loosened instead. He growled menicingly at him as they started walking quietly. After walking for a little bit, he fell forward and grunted as he was heaved back up and his shoulder popped. Even without the sight he knew exactly where this man was and he grabbed his shoulder and yanked it throwing him to the side and into the wall. Hard. Yet, he didn't go any where, he just stood there angrily but a grin still showed. He looked over his shoulder back at Aesa waiting for her to do something now.

Aesa had been keeping a keen eye on both parties and was aware of why the thief had reacted the way he had - as well as the fact that his response was overly enthusiastic. The second guard had been readying a spell to subdue Ace but Aesa shook her head once while she contemplated her response. He looked frustrated at being held back but did step down - as she knew them both in a working capacity she was aware that he wasn't as prejudiced as his partner against Lowerlings. The prisoner didn't appear to be making good on his temporary freedom from his escort so Aesa didn't take further actions to keep him in place.

Aesa waited while the fallen mage shook off his companion while he got to his feet. While he was wincing and rubbing his head he was concious and other than a what looked to be a few bumps and brusies he appeard whole. When he would have made for the prisoner again a cold look from Aesa had him holding back. And from Ace's grin she assumed that while painful his shoulder didn't need immediate medical attention if he could assume such a cocky stance.

It wouldn't do to reprimand the guard in front of the prisoner even if it was partially justified as that would build animosity towards her that she could live without. However, she refused to hold the prisoner entirely at fault for his actions simply to appease his current warden. Deciding on a compromise she infused her tone with strong authority since Ace couldn't see her stern expression as she took in the three males, "It would appear that the floors must have been recently cleaned for two such accidents to occur in so short a time. Vahti Taiano take the lead to ensure that the way ahead is clear so we might avoid any such falls going foward. And you Master Thief, I would ask you step carefully - if you were to fall again I will have to subdue you...for your own safety. Vahti Mainen if you will take my place I would feel more comfortable being near our prisoner in case he should "fall" again."

The more aggresive of the two moved to take point while the lesser slipped to the back. Neither seemed overly pleased with the arrangement though they did not protest it. While not afraid of the younger female they both had a respect for her abilities if not herself - and that was enough for Aesa. Taking Ace's uninjured arm in her hand she gently but firmly propelled him forward once more.

Ace looked around curiously at everyone unable to see, but what he could hear was extremely irritating. He stood still with his arms crossed upon his chest getting tired of al this and being tired in general. He flinched away from Aesa's hand and touch before he relaxed again and she grabbed his arm. He walked forward next to her sighing irritably that he was up and walking around without his sight again for the second time. He rubbed his face on his shoulder quietly before looking around for a way out even though he couldn't see. Still he could feel the drafts from cracks from the outside.

"So I'm staying down where ever till my trail, be taken to trial, then take what ever punishment that is given. I hope it doesn't take as long as last time," he grumbled more to himself than her even though he was well aware that she could still hear him. He took up one of his hands and grumbled as he fumbled with a buckle and it slipped over his shoulder with his blade on the back of it, he grumbled tossing it blindly forward for the guard in front to catch. He didn't hear anything hit the floor so he hoped it was caught. He knew the routine and he was going to take his blade, he was going to touch the handle, be burned by it, ignore his sash, take his bag, what ever. He was already figuring out how to get out again.

Aesa shook her head at his description of what he assumed would be his fate. There was no harm in explaining how events would unfold as he would be apart of said events shortly. "You will be brought to the lower levels and detained until a Tuomari can be located. They alone will be responsible for your judging and scentencing. You may rest easy in that you won't be waiting long - we will have this completed within the day." For matter of any importance the council did not delay in resolving matters.

As Asea's explaination came to an end, two more guards came around the bend, their breathing excellerated. Upon spotting the escort they stopped and each held a hand out palm facing the group. "Taistelu Yüksek - Taistelu Työnant has been found murdered - we require you for questioning. The escorting of the prisoner will be handled by another."

Aesa was ill prepared for this news and her hold on Ace's arm loosened further. Her Önemli...dead? Murdered? For a moment the young mage felt as though she could not breathe - finally as that elusive but necessary function returned she exhaled on a softly spoken word, "No." Thanks to Johtaja's training she was able to compartmentalize her thoughts - saving her grief for a time when she would be able to let it fill her and mourn her mentor in the proper way. Now was the time for action - she knew without a doubt these guards were here to disable and detain her, otherwise it would have been her parents who were sent. That she could be so highly suspect in her Önemli's death was untenable to her mindset. She would not allow herself to be taken in like so much rubbish while the true murderer roamed free. Her voice was strong this time as she answered her own escort. "No." And that is all the warning she would provide - sucking in her breath she brought her hands into fists, completely freeing Ace. Immediately the three men in front of her began to gasp for air, their supply having been cut off by her magic. It was not as simple a spell as the one she had cast to imprison Ace earlier and though it would take its toll on her she had little in the way of choice. "Master Thief - sudbue the one behind." Her voice was strained as she focused on her new opponents. It was a gamble, trusting in the prisoner but when left with no other option she would choose possible salvation every time.

The guard who had grabbed Ace's sword went to pull it free but upon touching the handle burned his hand, dropping it. Good - he had wasted the precious supply of air he had, giving her more time. The other two were not so rash and had been trained to respond in such scenarios. Both males waved their extended hand to the side as though they were swatting a fly and Aesa found herself being thrown against the corridor's wall. She managed - just barely - to keep her concentration enough to maintain the spell though her eyesight was begining to dim around the edges.

Walking silently next to her, he listened to what was going to happen. Yeah, relax, right, he thought to himself looking down at the floor even though he couldn't see anything. He rubbed his face again with the cloth irritating his eyes since he kept opening them wanting to be able to see. Any source of light or anything that would signal him where he was. He hated it all and this perfect floor beneath him kept his eyes from seeing.

He sighed unhappily just wanting it to all be over already. He knew it would be the second they found out about his murder. . . With those thoughts though, he sucked in a large amount of air and stopped completely shocked at what he heard. "WHAT?!" was all he said not believing it. He swore repetitively to himself wanting to just hit something so bad. Last thing he needed was a murder going around and him being the only suspect, then again, Aesa seemed to know him. He flinched feeling the magic feel the air and tense up with people choking.

He waited for the feeling, but he had never felt it. He looked over hearing his blade dropped and he growled menacingly. He continued to stand there waiting, waiting. Her grip was gone, he couldn't see anything. Nothing was able to be told what was going on. He heard her hit the wall and he yanked down the cloth that blinded him hard enough to rip it leaving angry red marks down the sides of his face. He looked over to see her pinned against the wall by them and he glared with pure burning hate. Why would they treat their own kind like this, even a murder. It was wrong and dishonest without respect for their own kind.

Unfortunately as Ace did not heed Aesa's words the guard who had the rear guard lept foward, attempting to use the butt of his sword to knock the thief unconscious. Aesa did not have the energy to spare in order to assist her potential ally and had to focus on the two quickly purpling mages in front of her. She felt as though she were being crushed into the wall and though she was able to breathe it seemed as though there was not enough oxygen reaching her brain.

Finally one mage faltered then fell to his knees, her face an ugly molted violet. Reaching out to her as though to cast a spell he was not able to find the stamina and collapsed on his side. This was a two-fold blessing for Aesa as some of the pressure was alleviated when his spell disappeared with his lack of consciousness and she was able to focus all of her attention on the remaining male opposing her. It was a race to see who would remain awake longer - she was on the fast track to oblivion with the amount of energy she was expending and he was right along with her as could not breathe.

Ace turned just to see the end of the sword fly at him. He didn't even have time to cringe before the blade's end was slammed into the side of his head. He crumpled to the ground barely having time to get his arms under his head to keep from hitting his head again with a grunt. He snarled and tried to get up again but his head was swimming and he felt sick. He coughed but stopped himself tasting bile in the back of his throat. He heard the man crumple to the ground and he bit his lip hard enough for that's pain to clear his head for a bit.

He slowly stood looking at the man who'd hit him with new rage and a rage that he was going to put into his blade. He grabbed his knife sloppily but once it was in his hand, he wasn't dropping it even if he was knocked out. He raced forward at the blurry man not waiting at all for him to notice him or fight against him. He stumbled though when his arm reached out to him sparing the energy to slowly take his air away but he didn't care. He held his breath and threw himself at the man wrapping his strong arms around him and tackled him hard to the floor ending up rolling and hurting him more than the other man from being so off balanced. He rolled over and straddled the man's gut and put the knife to his throat.

"Surrender," he snarled quietly trying to use as little air as possible as he felt himself already becoming exhausted. Seeing the own man's face change color, he hoped he would out last him or he would give up. He tried to breath in air but found none and he winced fighting off the black spots from his eyes that were already there from being hit, after this, he was going to end up collapsing. He didn't make it that long though. He sunk down to his side and hit the ground hard with the blade still wrapped tightly in his hand as he fell unconscious.

At last her rival fell forward, his eyes rolling up into the back of his head. Aesa lay there panting, not able to summon the energy to rise and tend to the final mage that Ace had been straddling a moment before. He was not as experienced as herself though and passed out due to over exerting himself with the thief. He was meant to be an escort only, providing the muscle behind her spells while she handled any of the more advanced techniques required.

Dragging her exhausted self over to the unconscious male who moments before had been her prisoner she laid a hand on his chest, willing him to awaken. She pushed the remenants of her remaining energy into his body, feeling herself weaken further as she gave what strength she had left to hopefully revive him. She was not very skilled in the way of healing and she had no finesse in that arena - if it worked his awakening would be akin to having a bucket of icy water tossed on him - from the inside out. Slumping forward she simply deflated, not having the ability to remain conscious any longer. The drain magic could have on a person was very much like over exerting yourself through hard labor and no sleep - both her body and mind forced her to slumber so that they could revitalize. She did not care to pin all her hopes on a self-proclaimed criminal but she had no other avenues avialable to her. She would not even be awake to beg his assistance if her magic did manage to bring him back.

He laid still just feeling completely exhausted and throbbing pain. Feeling a cold shock through his body, his eyes snapped open and he went to sit up, but he felt her weight on his body. He looked down to see her passed out and slumped before him. He closed his eyes and sighed loudly sitting up and grabbing his blade. He reached forward and grabbed his belt and strapped it to himself and sheathed his blade. Slowly, he sat up and pulling her with him and scooped him up in her arms. Ace looked at her quietly wishing that he hadn't decided to rob this place. He held her close standing up and carrying her with what little strength he had to get the hell out of here. Putting her over his shoulder holding her there, he leapt up high and pulled himself up by the window groaning loudly as his body protested.

Ace glared at the bars and pulled a vial out of his bag before pouring the contents of it onto the bar with an angry hissing sound. After a few vital seconds, he pushed the bar down and held her against him before leaping. He fell into the darkness with his clothes turning black again and being completely invisible to the eye of any human. He took off as fast as he could holding her close to him before leaping up onto the wall. He winced hearing sirens sound from their victims already being found and he dashed into the underworld of the higher levels.

He walked to his home after that blending in with everyone without a word. Here, he was an exiled prince. He still had power, but it was power he wasn't to use. He didn't say anything and slipped into his home finally not hearing his sister knowing she was asleep. Without kicking off his boots like normal, Ace carried Aesa back to his room and laid her down gently. He covered her with a blanket and left the room again pulling off his coat, his sash, belt under the sash, but left everything else on. He walked out of his room trying to fix his wild hair. Looking over his shoulder one last time, he went into the room that held the water going to fetch some for her before she woke up.

Aesa slept through the rest of the evening and the following day. Other than with magical means, nothing would be able to wake her after exhausting herself so thoroughly. She knew her limits and under normal circumstances she would not tax herself so but the previous evening's circumstances had hardly been what she would label 'normal'.

Opening her eyes, she braced herself for the very likely vision of a bare cell waiting to greet her but was pleasantly surprised by the bedroom instead. Without a doubt this was the thief's doing for nothing else could explain the fact that she was still free. As that thought crossed her mind she gingerly rose to a sitting position, wincing as the aches in her body reminded her that not only had she stretched her mental capacity but that she had also been brutally thrown against a wall. She was lucky that at worst it felt as though she may have sufferred a concussion. Peeling the sheets away from person she gently took stock of first herself and her surroundings. Good - as per her initial supicions nothing was broken, only bruised.

Her only saving grace had been that she had been fighting for what she knew was probably her life and the guards sent to detain her hadn't had the emotional investment she did. Testing her ability to walk she was satisfied with her progress - a bit wobbly but steady enough. Reaching for the door she tested the knob, hoping to find it unlocked. It would be better treatment than the thief would have had at the council's hands.

Ace hadn't slept an ounce since he'd been knocked out. He didn't want to and he couldn't. Honestly, having Aesa in his house, in his room, made him nervous and left him no where else to sleep. Yet, he left her in the only room unlocked at the time. His sister's room was locked when she was in it and his weapon's room was locked as usual. He stayed in the kitchen for the most part or the living room taking care of Alex once she'd come back from her adventures of the woods.

Other than that, he was fine. Exhausted, battered, bruised, and his shoulder was wrapped now; that was basics for him. Only visible mark was the black bruise on the side of his face from where the guard had hit him. The rest of him was covered by a dark long sleeve shirt, his pants, and boots. He hadn't had a chance to change since she was in his room where all of his clothes were and he stupidly left his coat in there so he found it too cold to go outside right then in the brisk air.

"Alex! Come get dinner if your hungry for it!" he yelled through the house hearing the small patter of feet running to his side when he stood from the table. She ran into his leg and hugged him close and he smiled but he was distracted. He could hear her waking up and he started getting on edge again, but it was duller than usual. Only thing keeping him awake is the fact he had to take care of Alex. He walked with her still attaching herself to his leg before coming to the fireplace that burned bright. He oppened the kettle with the smell of beef stew wafting through the house.

He grabbed a bowl for her from a shelf above. He handed it to her after he poured in the stew. He grabbed his own and poured himself some, but he ate half heartedly as he leaned against the wall. He stared at the rising night sky quietly just watching everything. Ace's head snapped around seeing her exit the room finally. He wondered when she would be woken up.

Aesa stepped out from the room, pleased to find her way unbarred. It would have been bad form for her to have to use magic to free herself from her sickroom after he had given her a safe place to rest. And quite frankly she didn't want to utilize much of her energy so soon after exhausting herself.

Coming around the corner she stopped when she was faced with her savior and a smaller, more feminie version of himself. The child was rather...cute. She wasn't sure why that surprised her, but never having seen a lowerling young before she hadn't been prepared for the very normal appearance one would wear. The very thought made her colour in embarassment as she mentally chided herself for the prejudiced thought - it wasn't as though they were a different species after all. Swinging her eyes to her thief she frowned when she saw the dark circles under his eyes that matched the ugly bruise running the length of one side of his face. Clearly he had suffered during their escape and even though she could not have realized the turn events would have taken she felt at least partially responsible for his injuries.

Before she could offer the aid of her limited healing ability which did as much harm as good at times the tempting aroma of the stew invaded her sense and her stomach responded. Loudly. Aesa's hands flew to her stomach and her face reddened further. She couldn't find the casual words necessary to smooth over the awkwardness of the situation. Diplomacy was another skill she had not taken the time to fine tune.

He looked at her and then down at his younger sister and he blushed hoping that she didn't think that she was his. He smiled a little though at her stomach and motioned with a finger to join Alex at the table. "I'll get you some. Alex, be nice and don't harass her, she's tired," he said quietly and the little girl smiled. He rolled his eyes slightly and pushed his mess blonde hair out of his eyes. He grabbed a spare plate he had being delicate with his arm that had his injured shoulder as it hurt so badly. He scooped her out a generous serving, more than he had--but so did his sister--and carried it back to the table setting it down.

He picked up his bowl again again and took his post against the wall again yawning a little. He quickly inhaled his food as if was air. He reached up into a cabinet and pulled down a loaf of bread with Alex already staring greedily at it and then her brother wanting some. He set it down on a plate that already sat on the table before pulling a knife out of the waist band of his pants. He sat down his bowl and cut the bread easily with the razor sharp blade before it vanished again beneath his clothes. "What's your name?" he asked calmly as if it was a conversation between two new allies even though his eyes said other wise as they held anxiety. "Ace is what I'm called, I don't give my name. My younger sister is Alex though," he said quietly before he munched on a small slice of bread that he'd used to clean out the sauce in his bowl.

The young girl, stood in her chair and held her hand out very professionally. "Yes, my name is Alex, glad to meet you ma'am," she said very strictly. If she wasn't so serious about it, it might be funny, but she wasn't kidding. "Glad we could help you and you are feeling better, why are you running from the other mages?" she asked curiously sitting down and going back to her food. The girl stared at her with bright green eyes that Ace didn't have, but his were a mix from his mother and father. Alex on the other hand looked like their father only thin and light weight like their mother her mother, but not his. She was only his half sister.

"Alex, let her eat. She got in trouble and needed somewhere to stay for a bit to keep her head down. Even mages have their issues," he said quietly as he stuck his thumb in the band of his pants. As she ate though, he couldn't help but stare at her slightly. It was filled with mixed emotions, emotions of him finding her of being very attractive, but at the same time he was nervous that she was here in the first place. He never was far without a weapon at least and she still didn't seem refreshed so it let himself feel a little bit better about the situation.
