Sex has nothing to do with love; what don't people get about that?

As well as you are not helping your case by name calling.

And no one here has condemed anyone to Hell. People are damned because they choose to war against God when they can have peace. They choose to trust in humanity and themselves for salvation when there is only one way to salvation.

I'm joyful to see my more people with wisdom in our faith. (This goes for you too Quenga!) It seems to be a drought in spirit where I live... Too many worldly views save for a few friends I rarely see.

I agree. Love is much more than sex. When a person sins, they're put in hell for justice. You're right. If you're a kid, and you disobey your parents, you'll be punished.
But Jesus himself went to hell to pay for those sins. So "whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life,"[John 3:16] meaning you'll be free from hell and be in heaven.
Jesus taught us not to worry about things like hell anyway. He told us to be aware of temptation, but not panic.
Hopefully, if one reads the Bible more, and Biblical lessons, they can discern love from lust, and learn how to be selfless and peaceful. And I'm not judging.

True, He is a God of love, that's exactly why He wants to help you and wants you to turn to Him and repent of your sins before it's too late. When God was flooding the world in the time of Noah, the animals were entering the ark one by one, the lion didn't quench the lamb nor did the tiger want to eat the goat. The animals were more worried about living, whoever gets lost in hell it's because they want too. Jesus didn't create hell, The Father did, and He didn't create it nor intended it to be for man. He made it for Satan and those that followed him. If you want to join Him, God gives you that option, but He tells us that it's death the wages of sin so chose Him to have everlasting life.

People are born gay, so you're telling us that just because we were born to love the same sex we are going to hell? If God created me, and loves me unconditionally, then he must be able to accept my sexuality...right?

And, if having sex with another man is so wrong, then why did god make the prostate into a sweet spot?

Ok, let's address the specific religious point: Actually, the Bible says little on the subject; the usual citations are from Leviticus and Romans; nothing about it is mentioned in the 10 Commandments, and Jesus is silent on the subject. Religious leaders have also spoken out against sex before marriage and contraception, implying that the only time sex is 'permitted' by God, is to reproduce. Yet, couples who cannot have children are permitted to marry and have sex, so the argument loses air. Second, let's refocus the argument on marriage, and away from the general issue of homosexuality: Marriages may indeed be done "through God", but the issue is that they are also civil contracts performed and sanctioned - and awarded special benefits - through the State (the actual state you live in, and/or the Federal government). We depend on our separation of powers, the separation of Church and State for civil contracts and laws - a religious objection to a civil union of any kind (including gay marriages) must not be allowed. It is not reasonable, nor should it even be legal, for the Federal Government to enforce discrimination based on religious views. Homosexuality is not illegal in in any state (since 2003). Marriage between gays should not be denied simply because people of certain religious affiliations find it "icky" or because it's "against their religion." In my best friend's case, gay marriage could help him medically. His lover is a wealthy man with a god insurance plan where as my friend has nothing to his name. Denying him the right to marry and share spousal insurance is like telling him that his life means less that that of a straight man. Unless you intend to criminalize homosexuality again, you have two law-abiding citizens who pay exactly the same taxes and must obey the same laws as their straight counterparts, but who are being denied equal rights and benefits under the law of the land. That's discrimination, and it is most definitely a Civil Rights issue.

The Bible does state that a man should not lie with another man, the Bible also states that God wants each person to love and be loved by someone. In order for gay people to love and be loved by someone and for that relationship to fall within the sanctity of marriage, they have no choice but to marry and unify their love with sex just as heterosexual couples do ad have the same financial and emotional benefits that coincide. Furthermore, I refer back to my previous defense: In my best friend's case, gay marriage could help him medically. His lover is a wealthy man with a god insurance plan where as my friend has nothing to his name. Denying him the right to marry and share spousal insurance is like telling him that his life means less that that of a straight man.
