I'm going to make this scripture and devotion for the week of Thanksgiving.

Today's Verse
Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.
— 1 Chronicles 16:8 (NIV)

Thoughts on Today's Verse...

Giving thanks is more than being thankful to God; it is letting others know of his gracious works so they too can come to know him as Father, Redeemer, and Victorious Lord. Then others can join their voices with our own in a chorus of thanksgiving from the hearts those God's love has redeemed.
My Prayer...

Holy God, Almighty King, bless all those who serve you in difficult places today. I especially am thankful for all the missionaries in other cultures sharing the grace of Jesus with people who need to know you as Abba Father. Empower their words, protect their lives and families, and bless their efforts with fruit. Please help me to understand that true thankfulness involves sharing your grace with others. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Think it over. Are you living every day as if it's your last day for His glory? Do you work diligently at your job and at your home (as if He isn't coming for another ten years) for His name's sake?

Do you shake salt and shine the light every chance you get?

Do you remain balanced, cheerful, winsome, and stable, anticipating His return?

"The Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and the dead in Christ shall rise first." -1 Thessalonians 4:16

I have to warn all of you. Please, get right with God. The Lord is coming, very soon. Sooner then you all expect. The day, and hour, is unknown. Not even the Angels or Son in Heaven knows when His return shall be. He is ready for His people, but not all His people are ready for Him. He cannot wait forever, for an eternity my friends. Get right with God, please. The Bible is the directions to life, of your salvation, that will last an eternity. It's the ultimate road map. I say this to all of you, from the bottom of my heart, and the midsts of my spirit, because I love each and everyone of you. I want to see all of us, caught up together, in the clouds, with the Lord, when He returns, for His glorious church! God Bless all of you!

The Pharisees hated Jesus because He refused to let them get away with their phony religious drool! If there was one thing Jesus despised, it was the very thing every Pharisee majored in at seminary: showing off. Another word for it is "self-righteousness." The Messiah unsheathed His sharp sword of truth exposing their pride. Like never before, the smug show-offs were put in their place!

"Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them." - Matthew 6:1

I honestly believe that "forgetting" is the hardest part of "forgiving." Forgetting is something shared with no other person. It's a solo fight. And all the rewards are postponed until eternity... but how great they will be on that day! Forgetting requires the servant to think correctly, which means our full focus must be on the Lord and not on humanity. By God's grace, it can happen.

"Greater is He who is in you than he who who is in the world." - 1 John 4:4

JESUS CHRIST THE KING

Almighty everlasting God,

who in Thy beloved Son,

King of the whole world, hast

willed to restore all things anew;

grant in Thy mercy that all the

families of nations, rent asunder

by the wound of sin, may be

subjected to His most gentle rule,

Who with Thee liveth and

reigneth world without end.

Amen.

DAILY PRAYER

Merciful Jesus, we believe in You

and we trust in You.

Come to the aid of our weakness

and our incapacity.

Grant that we may be able to make You

Known and loved by all

and that, confident in the immensity of Your

Love we may be able to combat the evil

which is in us and all the world, for Your

Glory and our Salvation.

Amen.

In English that means Ecclesiastes 3:1-8.

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:
2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

While all of this talk of 'time' may seem like common sense, we we go through our daily lives and forget that God is in control. He has a plan for our lives. There is not need to spend all of our time worrying and being wasteful. These verses pretty much speak for themselves.

Micah 6:8
"No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you:
to do what is right, to love mercy,
and to walk humbly with your God."

New Living Translation

This is a good verse to memorize to help guide our actions from day to day.

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.
1 John 5:1 (NIV)

A few verses later (in James 1:12), we are told the reward of enduring difficult times: Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
PostPosted: Thu Feb 10, 2011 10:30 pm
The challenging events that we go through are what refine us and make us more like Christ. Indeed, 1 Peter 1:6-7 says that one of the purposes of going through grief and trials is so that our faith can grow and be proven genuine.

Therefore, a real testimony of growing in faith and becoming like Christ requires going through a test. So, instead of despising your tests and trials, look forward to your testimony; after all, you can't have a testimony without a test.

You'll never change your life until you change your choices.

If you want something in your life to change, then you'll have to change your choices and actions. That is because doing the same thing will never get you different results.

In other words, what you do -- the choices you make, the way you treat people, the attitudes you have -- all impact your life. If, by your actions, you're sowing bad seeds, then you'll reap a harvest of those things. 2 Corinthians 9:6 says, Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Therefore, if you want to reap abundant harvests in your life, start sowing abundant seeds. That may require changing your choices; but until you change your choices, you'll never change your life.

Who is Jesus??

In chemistry, He turned water to wine.

In biology, He was born without the normal conception;

In physics, He disapproved the law of gravity when He ascended into heaven;

In economics, He disapproved the law of diminishing return by feeding 5000 men with two fishes & 5 loaves of bread;

In medicine, He cured the sick and the blind without administering a single dose of drugs,

In history, He is the beginning and the end;

In government, He said that He shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace;

In religion, He said no one comes to the Father except through Him;

So...... Who is He? He is Jesus!

Join me and let's celebrate Him; He is worthy.

The eyes beholding this message shall not behold evil, the hand that will send this message to everybody shall not labor in vain, and the mouth saying amen to this prayer shall smile forever. Remain in God and - - - -

seek his face always. Amen!

In God I've found everything!

The Greatest Man in History

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!

If you believe in God and in Jesus Christ His Son.

share this with all.

If you ignore it, just remember that Jesus said...

"If you deny me before man, I will deny you before my Father in Heaven."
