An 8, 13, 16 isn't a bad start....or was that a 7....let's see what the 2nd 3 give.

Savage Species is welcome! I said so in the start of the thing (I'm the guy who's playing the spider).
As for animal companion... we're 16th level, so... go with a T-rex!
