Kari had pulled herself out, scrunching the ends of her dress and jacket and pulling off her backpack, throwing it to her side.
"No, I'm not going to Central. I don't really have a reason to." She bent down a bit to ring out her hair, watching as Ed walked away. He sure didn't appear as if he would be the state alchemist, infact it seemed to be the other way around.
She stood back up, sighing and putting her hair into a ponytail.

"You know I would have thought that you would be the state alchemist and the older one, it's just that he's so little."

Her eyes blinked, feeling a bit dewy and wet from the water, but mostly surprised at how flustered he'd gotten. Kari's nose crinkled and she grinned, pressing her fingertips to her forehead before moving her hand up and under her bangs.
She focused her vision on the two and smiled, feeling in her pocket once again and crinkling the bills in her hand. "Well, It's been nice and I'm glad I met you both but I have to leave." Kari pulled the bills out, walking toward them and grabbing Ed's wrist and placing them in his hand. "Here, you can go be there hero." She stood back up, knocking on Al's armor as if it were a door. "I hope you get what you want , sorry I knocked off you're head. You're sweet."
Kari walked back to the fountain and grabbed her bag, keeping it in her hand since it was soaked on the outside; not a big worry for her since the sun would soon dry it.

Kari had picked up her backpack, hitting it to dry it quicker. She put one strap on and looked up, smiling and waving at them before turning and walking down her own path.

She had no intention of going to central, what was there for her? Mostly likely bad news, and thats what she was running away from.
The end of her dress flitted in the tiny wind, it was breezey but not overly; on the down side it didn't make anything cooler. The next stop on her list was another 'small' town, somewhere that not a lot of people visited. She wondered if this plan seemed to obvious and if they would come for her, or maybe they had thought she only stuck to central.
Kari kept her pace up, beginning to meet the part of the town where it was transforming to sand. Her plans were to cross the desert, hed somewhere or maybe just stay there and live her days out as a sand hermit.

"I seem to have found our play thing."

For a moment her eyes widened, hoping that it was just her imagination; wishful thinking.

"You didn't forget about us did you?"

She turned around but she was too slow, Envy had been close; standing almost directly behind her.
"We saw you with that pipsqueak and his brother," her mind turned back, trying to figure out who Envy was talking about but nothing came to mind except to run.
Kari had always been an open book - or at least the expressions on her face were more than readable but his just made Envy laugh. "Don't worry, I'm here to cut you a deal; straight from Father himself. We'll trade your life, for theirs."

She'd slowly backed up, once again getting a bit panicked. "What's so great about them?"
And then she knew that the homonculus infront of her was losing patience, "Get on the train. Father has decided he'd rather have them," Envy exaggerated and shrugged, sighing and looking back at Kari. "It benefits you anyways."

There were words for this, a lot of them, but none of them affected Kari at the moment.

For a long time she sat in the far back of the train, clutching her legs and just starring ahead; waiting for the train to move. She could hear the people boarding, their murmurs barely catching her ears in the luggage cart.
She knew they were somewhere on the train, that was certain but nothing felt right about this plan.

Minutes later and the train moved, slowling chugging along the trail; but she waited still, till the ticketeer's came by to check everyone's tickets.

Kari spun her head a bit, looking around at everyone's luggage. Theirs probably wouldn't be here, meaning she couldn't get any hidden information out of it but other's might hold a use for her. Feeling bad she sorted through the suitcases, opening each until she found a long coat and some paper. Before leaving the luggage car she scribbled down a few notes, crinkling it up before she stood, her knees buckling under her a bit out of fear and sitting with them crunched for too long.
Her hand slid open the cars door, looking down and seeing the tracks move under her quickly. Kari hopped to the other side, an easy feat for someone as flexible as her, but then again anyone could do it.

The good thing was that the cloak concealed her from head to toe, it even had a hood. Pulling it up she walked down the isle, able to see the armor boy from several feet away. She walked over and stood near him, seeing that the state alchemist was sleeping.

Kari wasn't to keen on talking, the guilt choked her up; they had goals too which were probably more important than her own.
She thrusted her hand foreward, holding out the scrap of paper for him to take. Under her coat she was shaking, and under her skin she was crawling; her stomach becoming sick.

Do not put your faith in the military.

Her heart pounded as he looked back at her, did he know it was her? Had her small plan failed?

Kari's feet shook and she opened her mouth, slowly breathing but not being able to talk. How could someone tell a story in a couple of seconds?
She leaned forward, ready to whisper it in his ear. Anything that she could say in a short amount of time, and then the train rumbled.

It was a larger quake than she had expected, one that made her legs collapse underneath her. Kari fell forward, the shake jostling her so much that it knocked the hood of her cloak off.

The shaking stopped and she looked up at Al, catching her breath, the only worry at the moment was that now he knew who she was for sure; but that was the only worry for a minute.
A shriek could be heard from the other car and she turned her head, looking in the general direction; but she should have been looking elsewhere.

From the side windows people busted in, breaking the glass as they jumped in the train. They were all men, standing tall with their hands behind their backs; looking calm for people who just broke into a train.

Kari sat there next to Ed, looking forward but from the corner of her eye she could see the military men; all standing and looking at eachother.
Now that the windows were broken you could hear the train rattling against the tracks but thats not all you could hear if you listened. A clunky sound could be heard, faint until it grew closer and closer, after a few seconds it was obvious to what it was - someone's boots.

The train car door opened and a tall man appeared, black hair - a bit spikey - and his own military uniform placed on his body.
"I have information that a young alchemist is on this train, we want him now. If you do not step forward we will begin to kill people." For the most part when he talked he looked straight forward but now he began to look around. Kari felt a thump in her chest and she grabbed Ed's hand, trying to keep him down. Not that he was standing up, but she didn't want him to try.
"If your name is Edward Elric, stand up now."

The whole train was silent and for a moment no one said a thing, that's when she took her chance. Kari pushed herself closer to Edward, moving her hand from his and putting it in his pocket. It took some awkward wiggling but she finally got what she was looking for, his pocket watch.
She pulled it out, but kept it in her own hand, and sat there for a moment.
"Edward Elric, I shall give you five minutes to come to the conductor's car."
The man left, but his guards stayed and Kari quickly looked over at Al.
Could they have been real military personel? And what did they want?

Kari cringed and closed her eyes as she could still hear them get pummeled, she stood up and took off her coat; revealing her regular wear.
She pouted and looked down, clipping the watch to her jacket and putting it in her pocket.

She looked at Edward for a minute, and sighed, leaning to the side and grabbing her hair and braiding it. "Gimme your jacket," Her eyes looked across the car to see a small family of three, a father and his two kids; his arms protectively around them.
"Don't worry, you've got a hero right here." She said, patting Ed's chest.
