Well, in my high school, the clarinets were pretty much left alone. Mostly, it was the percussion that was always picked on on every little mistake, but when I got into college, the clarinets are always picked on by the band director, and honestly, I don't blam him cause some of the people in my section don't seem to know what's going on half the time and almost never make the form stare .

Alchemic Kraehe hiogurl123 Ugh yes! I'm in Drumline and all the others are like: "We have to remember notes! All you have to do is hit a drum and move!" HECK YES. O:<
Moving on...
The band mostly respects us. Honestly, most of the beasts in our band are in the drumline. However, people are always bashing the pit! They don't count them as much, and I feel really bad for them. They know how to march (correctly, might I add), and they work just as hard as the band does. D:
Sadly, lots of the kids continuously "bash" the bassline (my section). They think bass drum is easy and just for those who didn't make snare or tenors. I feel really bad for the pit because a lot of them play clarinet and flute and were forced into the pit because our main show is only made for 34 people. (They get to march in other shows though.) They work just as hard as everybody else because most of the people in pit are middle schoolers and it's hard for them to push all the bells back and forth from the practice field. (My section lead flipped out the other day because one of the marimbas flipped over.) About the bass drum IT IS NO WHERE NEAR EASY! I tried carrying my friend's bass drum and it's freaking heavy! I wouldn't be able to march with it.

In our band, everyone is picked on for something so it's more like jokes than anything 3nodding . Clarinets and flutes are the softest, drummers almost always play too loud, pit mostly gets in trouble for not listening back, the only senior in dance guard is also a newbie at it so they can't really get picked on much, etc., etc..
Also, for those people who say that clarinets have it easy in the winter because most of their instrument isn't metal well, you guys can wear gloves while we can't scream !

i have 4 words: low brass kicks a**!!!! and the best of the low brass is the Baritones. Why, you ask? simple, because we can do nothing during our sectionals except go over what we're supposed to for 5 minutes and talk about random stuff for the rest of the time. And then have everything we were told work on better than any other section in the band even the a**l sections who worked without a single break. that is why we are the best and why we kick a**

Never felt that way at all, I was a trumpet. I was stuck with band directors that played trumpet. lol However, it did mean the standards were set higher for us.
