"Hm. Whats ironic is that that city is run by the church...Yet our city is run by demons,and our people are happier."
He sighed and shut his book as he crossed his legs.
"I've never been there thankfully."

Marian smiled. "It is strange. Though I am perfectly fine with it." Mariana closed her book and stretched.

Xenos turned the page in his book and looked down,a thoughtful expression on his face. He stood up and tucked the book into his pocket.
"That is very peculiar Mariana. However,I am glad you chose this city over the others."
He picked up the other books he had been reading and put them away.

Mariana got up and went to put her book up. "I'm glad, as well. " She put her book up and searched through the middle shelves so she wouldn't have to use the ladder.

The heavy door to the library thudded open as a lone man poked his head in. He looked around obviously searching for something. Aeon took a tentative step inside as he noticed Xenos and Mariana. He waved and smiled sheepishly.
"Hello everyone. I'm not interrupting anything,am I?"

Xenos looked up from the bookshelf and glared at the crow-turned-man. A scowl blossomed on his face as he noticed the absence of the young girl Aeon was supposed to be accompanying.
"Xenia isn't in here."
Xenos took a few steps towards the man,a menacing glare on his face.

Mariana looked at Aeon and Xenos and simply ignored them since she knew what was going to happen. She flipped through a book and waited for Aeon to leave.

Aeon cowered in Xenos' glare as he backed up towards the door. A look of knowing passed between them; that he had to get back to Xenia,immediately. Obviously Xenos had no idea where she was.
"Oh,well goodbye than!" Aeon waved nervously at the two.
He turned and ran out the door.

Mariana watched Aeon leave and laughed. "You barely said anything this time. Soon he'll leave as soon as he sees you."

Xenos chuckled slightly as he shut the door behind him. Aeon had left it ajar in his frantic run. The crow man had scattered a few feathers while fleeing; they floated down and settled on the floor. Catching one,he twirled it between his pale fingers.
"We have come to a mutual agreement that he is not to enter my presence without his charge."
He smiled as he slumped back into his chair.

Mariana smiled and walked back over to the table with another book. She sat beside Xenos.

Xenos wrapped an arm nonchalantly around Mariana's shoulders. He peered over to stare at the book,their faces inches away. He didn't seem to notice or mind.
"What are you reading,anyways?"
He turned to look at her intently.

Mariana casually leaned into him and relaxed. "Nothing really. Just a book on Egyptian history." She showed him the book and it was written in Egyptian. "I hope to go there one day."

Xenos studied the top of her head with interest. He lightly touched her cat ears as he smiled.
"They worship cats their you know. They might catch you and call you a goddess."
He joked lamely.
"Though,that would be rather unfortunate. I would miss you."
He mumbled under his breath,barely even hearing himself.
