She kept her face blank as she considered the young vampire. Maybe shy wasn't precisely the right word for him. She got the smallest impression that he had the ability to speak up but it made him uncomfortable to do so. She also picked up on the distinct akwardness he seemed to feel from her being close.
She took a small step away from and hitched her black bag up onto her shoulder. This was the first of her kind she had seen in a very long time and she didn't want to spook him during their first conversation. "Well Jayce if you've been locked away so long..." She started smiling brightly. "You've missed a heck of a lot of fun." Kuro teased him gently, still smiling in a friendly manner.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘ I've missed more than just that, Jayce thought and nodded, "Even so, it's my loss." He knew she was just trying to be friendly, and that he was making it difficult. "I apologize for the way my behaviour has been. It seems that I am feeling like a newborn baby after its first breath." He shoved his hands into his pocket and gazed towardds the sun, the light glinting off his golden eyes, making them shine.

"There's no need to apologize. I remember what life was like at the beginning..." A shadow passed over her features and vanished. "Why did you decided to leave the safety of your home if you don't mind my asking?" She couldn't help but notice just how bright his eyes were with the sun reflecting out of them, it made her smile ruefully at a memory from the past.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘"Truthfully," Jayce began, "I want to be human, but that shall never happen." He sighed softly, "That, and I finally got lonely so I figured that I'd try something simple. Besides, starting at a school would be easy because I'd get to watch and learn from their different behaviours. And my odd behaviour would be perfectly acceptable there." It seemed reasonable in his mind, but perhaps she thought different of the situation.

Kuro felt a pang of sympathy for her young friend. To be human... She thought watching the ground beneath her feet. I wanted that once...but I ruthlessly destroyed that desire. She looked up at him again, her smile back in place.
"I think all vampires want to be human at some point, but we are so much better then them." She stated firmly. "As for odd behaviour, I would say your quite normal compared to some of the people we are bound to run into at a high school." She laughed softly.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘Jayce thought over what she first said and had to disagree. No creature was better than another. "Maybe, but they may find us strange." A faint smile cracked his stone expression. He'd never smiled before, so the feeling was strange to him, almost alien.

Kuro grinned at him when the smile flit across his lips. "You know you should smile more, it makes you much more handsome." She laughed again as they approached the large school. It was noisy and filled to the bursting with energetic teens from all walks of life.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘"Thank you." Jayce said before his eyes darted to the large school building. His irises changed a bright red for a moment before going back to their golden color. "Not even in the building and chaos has already started." A soft chuckled emitted from deep within his chest.

She saw the brief flicker in his eyes and reached out to touch his arm gently. "Just a heads up...probably not a good thing to start munching on fellow students on the first day." She said rising one delicate eyebrow at him.
She dropped her voice so only he could hear it. "But if you do decide to go on a rampage let me know first so I can join it." She grinned wryly at him.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘Jayce looked over to her and shook his head, "No, I won't. . . .I can't. . ." He stammered, unsure of what he was trying to say. "I have no intentions of feeding upon them, unless it is their wish that I do, but I doubt I shall do anything of the sort." But accidents happen, He told himself and glanced down at the pavement. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad to just. . . . . He stopped and cursed in his mind.

Kuro could see him struggling with some inner turmoil. "No worries darlin, I'll make sure you don't do anything too wild here." She said smiling cheerfully, though she could already feel her own blood stirring with the scents of so many exuberent youths. She shook her head as if to clear and took a deep breath. "Ah, its good to be alive." She laughed and entered the building.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘Jayce followed Kuro inside the school, keeping his hands in his pockets as he bit his tongue, hard. He could taste his own blood in his mouth and looked over to Kuro and nodded as he silently walked, tempted to reach out and grab someone. He didn't realize it was going to be this difficult.

Kuro could sense the rising bloodlust in her companion. Soundlessly she reached out looped her arm through his effectively preventing him from lunging away from her. She gave friendly smiles to the the students that eyed the pair of them.
After towing him down one hall they found the office and got schedules. She wasn't surprised to see they had the same schedule. She suspected they kept the likes of vampires and other "dangerous" students in seperate classes. "Come on. I believe we are due in English right away." She stated, one arm still looped through his rigid one.

◘~Jayce Elder~◘Jayce looked at Kuro when she looped her arm with his and smiled abit. He didn't mind that their schedules were the same, but hearing that they had English first worried him. He'd never gone to school before and his parents had never been around to teach him anything. He knew that this wasn't going to be all fun and games, but he didn't know it was going to be this bad.

Kuro watched him for a few seconds trying unsuccessfully to gauge his thoughts. She peered at the map the reciptionist had given her and wander through the halls until she found the classroom they were supposed to be in. There were about ten other students lounging around the room, Kuro knew as soon as she walked through the door that they were all non-human though not nessecarily vampires.
She smiled at the few who glanced in their direction as she snagged two desks at the back of the room so Jayce would be farthest from most of the people. She figured he'd be more comfortable that way. She sat on the edge of the desk and waited for their instructor to arrive wondering how bored she would be during the classes. Being alive for over 90 years she'd had time to study what she liked at her leisure and was far above a normal high school level.
