heart Okay so I've done some looking into it. Apparently, the dubbed import of the japanese films has had an amazing response here in America. But let me add yet another reason why this will fail if they make a purely American version...
Because the powers that be would never assume we like this show for its deep plot, sense of character, or the heralding awesomeness that is L without question! No! They will dare degrade us by assuming we watch it for the hot girl and death scenes, and will probably gorge an American made movie over a short and sweet sex themed killing bonanza with a story that will be nothing like the original. And they will expect us to love it! Those b**t**ds! Tell me I'm wrong, because I'd sure like to be. heart

silent_slayer_kiryu If you people were true deathnote and L fans you would say that an American Deathnote is just stupid. And lets face it if it does come out, it will be CRAP. Im sorry but, there is no way in H3ll that America can pull off a movie remake for Deathnote. And also they have already ruined so many great Japanese films, and I ask you why should this happen to Deathnote. crying -L's only true fan... We're not saying they SHOULD make one. We're talking about IF they did. I doubt they will though. Who will give them the funding?

If there was an american death note, it wont be as good as the anime, manga, or live action movies. But i would still watch it and buy it 3nodding
But i wouldnt want zac effron to be Light eek

They'd make it a soap opera. Cereally. Misa'd run off with Rem, Light would get jealous and somehow kill Rem, and the detectives would have huge sobfests about how much they miss L.
