Its a bit short tho...

I love Nightwish heart I've always wanted to do a routine to their Phantom of the Opera cover.

Anyway, music from the Matrix would make a kick a** show.

i'm not in winter guard, but our school has one and i really like the stuff they did this year. the open guard did maleguena and the A guard did Only Hope by Switchfoot. and last year they did songs from Moulin Rouge.

our guard has a bunch of solo's and duets, there show is called serenity

some of the solos are: what is this feeling- wicked
out tonite- rent
what is this- nitemare b4 xmas
james bond-dont know the actualy song sweatdrop
and a pirates of the carribean song...

the one from wicked got the most awards...the work for it was amazing biggrin

Most techno or trance songs work great for routines. if you want words a good song is I believe from Yolanda adams. Another is Breaking free from high school musical, seasons of love from rent, Songs from Chicago, the possibilities are endless.

Not a guard member, but I did see a show to the Mortal Kombat theme song.
That was truly kickass.

I think these are good winterguard songs:
1.Fading-Gretchen(My winterguard used this song)
2.The Show Must Go On-Queen(My school's other guard did this)
3.Choices-Mudvayne
4.Dance Inside-The All American Rejects

In my guard we have this thing called "Spring Show". Every member in the guard has to pick a song and corograph to is. (there is NO way I spelled that right) So I choose "Out of Control" by Hoobastank. My song had a theme. See not only am I in guard I am in Tae Kwon Do. And for the past two years I had had trouble with my advisors because they hated the fact that Iw as in Tae Kwon Do. So I choose this song to show the struggle I had going between them both.

Well, Im in percussion ensemble, but my best friend is in guard, and together we both know alot about guard. We decided Im gonna design a show and she's gonna figure out the technical stuff.

EXAMPLE: Me: You should throw the rifle... HERE! And catch it right... Here!
And she'll go: Ok, so if the toss starts here, and last this long, that would make it a... 6!

You know, something like that. ANYWAYZZZZ back to the topic! Theres two, three , ok, maybe four songs I think would make good shows:

1.Time Warp: from Rocky Horror Picture Show

2.Daddy DJ: by Daddy DJ (A really good techno song)

3.Bad Touch: by the Bloodhound Gang (You know the song. It's the one that goes "you and me baby aint nothin but mammals so lets do it like they do on the discovery channel." Not the most school appropriate, but it would be REALLY fun for a guard to do.) AND....

4.Unchained Melody: by the Righteous Brothers (sp?). It's one of my favorite songs ever! There are many AWESOME versions of the song out there. In fact, last year a guard did it at WGI in Dayton. My friend says it was the prettiest arrangment ever (it was just piano) Unfortunettly, I never saw/heard it, but hey.

Ahhh! I know you! Geeze, what do you think you're doing talking about me on the interent? xd

i didnt see this one on the list. last year we were going to do the cell block tango and have different solos for the different stories and for the one in french or whatever have a ribbon solo. i thought it was a cool idea
