i knew of one... a bitter old lady who lived by herself down the street from us in the chicagoland area.... a very unhappy person she was... never smiled and always yelled at the kids when they played in the alley.... sad

Well...it takes all kinds of people to make a world...one of my relatives is as gruff as can be on the outside...but his heart is so soft and gold...it's a miracle people don't realize how nice he really is.

i had a grandpa who was so formal like (even thought he was a farmer) that it took years for me to realize how much he loved us... he never said much (guess he didn't know how to talk to us kids) but he was always so generous with his special gifts (for graduations, confirmation, and the like) it meant even more when my grandma told me later how he'd shop for these things hisself.. didn't want anyone else picking out the wrong gift.....
